My designs for the Sweeney Todd leads, kinda just to use as a reference for my future drawings of them. These are specifically their act 1 outfits, so I’ll try and do their act 2 main costume changes as well.
Yeah, if you can’t tell I love the classic musical version the best.

Some quick notes for each

Todd- his main act 1 costume is some of his old clothes that Lovett had kept. He wears an outfit similar when he first gets back to London, but it’s made from spare clothes of the sailors.
I’ve interpreted the “his eye was odd” as less of a literal ‘something is wrong with one of his eyes’ and more as ‘because he spent fifteen years in a labor camp, he can’t see well in light.’

Lovett- her whole goal is to try and look as nice as she can, despite her dress being practically rags. Her hair is also completely destroyed and full of flour and clumps of dough.

Toby- Pirelli’s dressed him in a way that from a distance he looks quite nice and fancy, but all his clothing is completely tattered. He’s always had the limp, and it’s not something Pirelli did.

Pirelli/Daniel- he dresses quite gaudy, and is just a tad bit fruity. He wears a lot of silk just because it’s expensive.

Anthony- he’s a sailor, that’s it. He’s also kind of stupid.

Johanna- Turpin dresses her almost identically to how Lucy used to dress. in fact many of her dresses were Lucy’s that Turpin took from Sweeney and Lucy’s house. Her long gloves also function to help her hide wounds caused by her self harm from Turpin.

Lucy- her doll was Johanna’s old doll. She got it out of the trash after Turpin threw it away at some point.

Turpin- nasty

beadle- when I was in a production of Sweeney Todd, it was a joke between my friends and I in the ensemble that 1979 beadle looked like jack black, so I literally just made him an evil, slightly fruity, jack black. That’s it.
