The muscles in Saint's back tensed somewhat when Noel threw her leg over him, and scooted herself into position. Gathering the reins, she trotted him in a wide circle before asking the young stallion to reverse and trot the opposite direction.

The simple warm-up relaxed Saint, and got both him and Noel used to the feeling of her astride him without a saddle. "I've always wanted to do this," she whispered conspiratorily to her mount, asking with both the rein and subtle pressure from her leg to turn him towards the show ring.
