Short Story:
Kaed had never fired a gun before, she couldn't stand the deafeningly loud crack of sound as bullets were fired, nor could she stand the horrendous smell of gunpowder after a round went off. That left her resorting to archery. Sure Kaed's aim wasn't the best, but at least there was no recoil like a gun to worsen her already deteriorating aim and eyesight. Shooting from a standstill wasn't easy, so therefore shooting while riding a tokota was even harder, yet Kila was patient with his handler, and the two kept practicing the unusually challenging skill (for Kaed had underestimated it's requirement for sharp eyes and steady hands, regrettably). And so, eventually, the two were able to bring the arrows from flying off into nowhere to a bit closer to the red bullseye on the target board.
