It's an interesting choice of pose because the main feature of the picture seems to be her hair and dress. Then, you see her face and the little details of the accessories on her wrists on the details on her dress. And then, of course, there's the back of Austria's head and shoulders barely there, on the side. And all of it, makes it a very intriguing piece.
