I kinda see them as the reverse though. As a detective, Martial Artist, and strategist Batman is naturally the calm one. Whereas Superman is incredibly complicated with the whole "true" personality argument. About who is his true personality: "Farm" Clark, "Work" Clark, as Kal El, or when he's Superman. The alien man who's more human than anyone else. Yadda yadda yadda. Different writers throughout DC history struggle with a consistent interpretation of that.
