"My step by step image shows the major steps I usually take to produce an illustration. I start with a sketch which doesnt have to be polished perfectly and I draw over the lines again at the end, a habit I developed from years of working with traditional media. I often choose the colors of background first so I can set the mood and choose proper tones for shading. I shade with using a simple watercolor brush in SAI. To outline my images I like using the grain brush I made, it has a nice rough feeling to it."
