My, how much they've changed...But really, SCEPTER 4 just seems like the "good guys" in the first episode while HOMRA (Homura?) looked like your generic evil thugs, and then they totally just went and trolled the crap out of us. Of course, if you read K - Memory of Red beforehand, then you were off the hook.

That's exactly what it was like. I didn't read the manga, just found the Homra guys quite cool and stuff in episode 1, and then - boom! - episode 6 happened. And then I read the manga, and they were all just a big happy family sometimes burning some whole gangs to the ground and singing songs about friendship.

My take on this is basically:
Episode 1 - HOMRA bad, Scepter-4 good
Episode 2 - HOMRA still bad. Scepter-4 didn't appear.
Episode 3 - HOMRA bad and violent people. Scepter-4... decent, except for that Saruhiko dude, he seems kind of... off.
Episode 4 - HOMRA getting quite cute already. Scepter-4 ... decent.
Episode 5 - OH WHAT THE EFF FUSHIMI SARUHIKO WHAT ARE YOU DOING STAWP
Episode 6 - HOMRA IS SO NICE OMFSKJDFKSJDLFJSD THEY ARE OUR BABIES
Episode 7 - SCEPTER 4 YOU BUNCH OF ASSHOLES STOP STAWP STAWWWP
