Maybe she would, maybe she wouldn't. Jade West didn't like to think about the odds, because they were honestly very slim. I mean, a date? Like Vega would agree to that. Although...the other day, that half-Latina angel was staring at her all through acting class, and that was the only thing that was giving her any confidence at all to go through with this today.
'Hey Vega,' Jade thought, practicing mentally for the moment when it came,'I wanted to know if you'd want to date me.' Jade shook her head, laughing at the stupidity of that phrasing.
  'VEGA,' she imagined herself saying very forcefully, taking the brown haired teenager's waist with her hands, pulling her into her, their faces almost touching,'you, me, and Nozu at seven o'clock tonight.' Jade smiled, and blush crept to the surface.
   "Jadey, why are you blushing?" Cat Valentine asked her raven haired best friend as she saw Jade's face become a light pink.
"CAT!" Jade said angrilly, causing the bubbly girl to scream,"You KNOW I don't like it when people sneak up on me!"
   "Jade...I've been standing right there for the past five minutes!" Cat said, defending herself,"I was going to say something, but you looked deep in thought!"
"WELL I WAS!" Jade shouted, and Cat inched back, only to knock herself into Robbie.
    "Calm down Jade," Robbie said,"you're scaring Cat!"
"Can you two just get to class?" Jade asked, exasperated.
  Jade loved her friends (as much as she could muster, and that wasn't much), but if they were to try talking to her in this state of mind, her being nervous and excited and scared about the question she had to ask Tori later, she'd just snap at them and scare them even more. The two scurried off.
   "Just ask her already," Beck said, and Jade looked around. There he was, behind her.
"Excuse me?" Jade asked him rudely.
  "I used to be in love with you," he said,"sometimes it feels like I still am. I can see it. The way you look at her, the way she makes you smile..." Beck said, and Jade looked at him, not knowing whether she should punch him in the arm or hug him. She did neither and sent him a glare. He put his arms up in defense and she couldn't help but crack a tiny smile.
  They made their ways to the hallway, and there she saw her. Her beauty. She dropped her book trying to open her locker, and Jade strode over there to help her pick it up. Once their hands brushed, Jade looked away.
  "Jade, what's wrong?" Tori asked her friend when she looked away.
"Hold out your wrist." Jade commanded, and the darker skinned girl groaned and stuck her arm out. Jade blushed and grew hot at the touch of the other girls wrist and shook it off, dragging Tori to the Janitor's closet.
  "Okay, so you're going to make me miss first period for this? Really Jade?" Tori asked, and Jade just looked away.
Now Jade was screwed. Jade had imagined it, and it went so well. Now her hands were clentched in tight fists by her sides, shaking. Her eyes looked at the ground, and her face grew hot.
  And then she felt a pressure on her lips. Tori...was....kissing her?
Jade un-clentched her fists and wrapped her arms around the girl she'd fallen for. She closed her eyes and leaned into the kiss even more. Her face was still hot but so was the rest of her body, and she was sure Tori's was too. They were 'eating faces' in the cramped Janitor's closet, and it was humid and hot in there to begin with. Tori pulled away and grabbed Jade's hand, squeezing it. Jade smiled. And look at that, Jade West got what she wanted most, and she didn't even have to ask.
