Description                           Darkness
"Oh, shove off!" I shouted to my dad as he tried to talk to me that morning. I was sick of him thinking that now that he was back, he could do and say and think that he was my father. Jade West was a bastard. Jade West had no father.
"Jadelyn, how dare you talk to me like that!" He shouted after me, and I made my way down the pathway and on the sidewalk. That's when I saw the person I DID NOT want to run into. Tori Vega. What the hell was she doing here anyway?
"J-Jade?" Tori asked, and I still heard my dad shouting from the house.
"SHUT UP BEFORE YOU WAKE THE DAMN NEIGHBORS!" I shouted back at him, and then turned to Vega to give her a fake, mean smile."What do you want, Vega?" I asked, saying her name with hatred and anger.
"Well...I...you know..." she started, really fumbling her words and acting nervous.
"Just SPIT IT OUT, Vega." I said anxiously. If we kept talking like this, we were going to be late for school and my dad just MIGHT come down here and try to talk to me. What joy.
"Well, I really don't know how to say this. I've never confessed-" Tori said, and my eyes grew wide. Confessed what?
"Vega, what is going on with you? Did you commit a deadly crime or something?" I asked her, puzzled at her awkwardness. The Vega I knew would use her perky cheekbones to enlighten her dazzling smile, and her beautiful hair would frame that beautifully tanned face of hers...what? What did I just think? There was no way I was...
"Jade, I just wanted you to know that-" she started, but my heart started beating faster and my head wasn't thinking straight. Something hit me. I was in love with the girl I hated. Hated for so long and wanted dead a few times. She was trying to confess something to me, and I didn't want to listen. I wanted to be alone, to think, to be consumed in my own bitter and sarcastic darkness. My father had to leave for work, and we were already late for school. I took Tori by the wrist and shoved her behind a huge willow tree that was in our front yard. I hid behind it with her, cupping my hand over her mouth so that she couldn't talk. After my dad's car sped off, I ran up to the front door, found the spare key. I didn't realize Tori had followed me up and then down the stairs to my room in the basement until her feeble voice made the comment I usually get when people see my room.
"It's...all...black. It's too dark, Jade..." Tori said, and I grinned.
"I'm a dark, twisted person." I said to her, and she frowned.
"Speaking of, Jade, I love yo-" Tori started, yet I didn't want her to end that sentence.
No she didn't. Like I said, I was dark and twisted.
    "No, you don't." I said."You're sunshine, I'm the shadows. We're enemies."
"But I do, Jade." she said, pleading."Just give me a chance to show you."
"Go to school, Tori." I said,"Leave." I continued, pretending to be angry to scare her off. It worked and when she was gone I collapsed onto my bed, tired and sad.
She was the sunshine, and I just chased her away.
Time to wallow in my own darkness and pain.
