What happens when you combine an Imperial Chinese warlord with an Emperor's Adeptus Custodes? ... You get this.

This is Guan Yu, the Hanstodian, in the midst of executing a bloodthirster of Khorne.
This is during the Battle of Lion's Gate, aka the Second Battle of Terra, where 88 Daemonic cohorts of Khorne invaded the Throne world. The Custodes, the Anathema Psykana, the Grey Knights, and other Imperial fighting forces were able to fend off the Daemoinc incursion, but at great cost. Guan Yu - as the rest of the custodes - took part in this terrible battle, and during one unfortunate occurrence, he ran into a bloodthirster (the dragon). Through sweat, pain, and bloodshed, Guan Yu finally bested the bloodthirster/dragon. He stands, broken and battered, but unbowed, looks into the malicious eyes of his defeated foe, and brings his axe down on its foul head.

If anyone is familiar with my deviants, this will have been my third art work of Guan Yu. Asiatic Custodes are the best Custodes.
