"Not many ferals to worry about in here..." Ruby the Noivern mused aloud as she and her partner for this job stepped into yet another empty room. Empty save for a few stray items laying around.
"I thought the job listing said this was supposed to be an A rank job?" Tori the Starraptor chirped as she stepped up behind the Noivern. "This is, like, a D rank. I'm pretty sure we've been fighting the same Yamask over and over. He's a persistent little guy, I'll give him that..."
Ruby reached into her adventure pouch, pulling out the job request form they had accepted from the mission board as they and the rest of their team had grabbed what they could.
"Hmm... how many floors have we gone down at this point...?" Ruby asked aloud.
"Eleven. I know because we see that same Yamask every floor, and I know I've wing smacked him eleven times." Tori smirked. "He's so precious for trying. I really wanna take him home with us..."
"Well, advantage of a ghost pet is you don't have to worry about feeding him." Ruby giggled to herself as she folded up the job flyer. "But yeah, we should be on the right floor then. But haven't we checked this one out pretty thoroughly?"
"Well we haven't found the dungeon stairs yet." Tori pointed out. "So no, still more to this place. Don't think we've gone down that hall yet."
Tori pointed a feathered finger towards one of the hallways, just a bejeweled coffin. Ruby knew if Zinni the Liepard were here, she'd have already had desecrated every sarcophagus they passed on the way down here. So she was glad she had someone who had more respect for the dead with her.
"Alright. Cover my rear in case that Yamask shows up again."
"Oh, I'll cover your rear alright." Tori squawked, clacking her beak as Ruby hid her reddened face.
"Zinni won't like it if she finds out you had your hands on me."
"You and I both know that's a lie."
"Touche..."
And with that, Ruby set off down the corridor, letting out a few echolocation screeches to give her a nice understanding of what was ahead. The complete lack of Pokemon, feral or otherwise, was very unsettling though. Where could they have all gone...?
"Maybe we should let the Yamask hang around next time? He doesn't do too much harm. And it would really help to have some company."
Ruby's ears wiggled as she waited for Tori to answer. "Stop checking out my butt, Tori." The Noivern chuckled, turning around. But... Tori was gone. And now that her large, disk shaped ears were facing behind her, she could hear it now. A faint mmphing...
"Tori!?" Ruby exclaimed, rushing back down the hall she had come from, rounding the corner to see...
"Gmt mff mm!!!" Tori squawked, thrashing and kicking her talons as a mix of shadowy hands and white bandages grabbed her, beginning to bind her up. The source of both of these? The golden coffin. It was now open.
"Tori, why did you try and open it!?" Ruby exclaimed. The coffin was a Cofagrigus! And it punished anyone that tried to open it up with swift and strict mummification. But Ruby wasn't about to let it get her partner. She charged up a Dragon Pulse before firing it from her mouth right into the possessed coffin. The creature let out a lamenting wail of pain, its grip on Tori slackening... before retightening as more hands and bandages lashed out at the Noivern.
"Ack!" Ruby screeched, spreading her wings and trying to flap away from it. But the hands grabbed her tail, pulling her in close as it began to tear her clothes off, the bandages already winding up her ankles. Tori's clothes soon followed, the two adventurer's quickly becoming mummified as the Cofagrigus did its dastardly deed. Ruby was beginning to realize why there was a lack of Pokemon in this dungeon. And what had happened to the Pokemon they had come to save. All the golden coffins they had passed on the way down... could their target have been in one? Wrapped up as a mummy? It seemed now they would face the same fate as they were mummified up to their chests, hands crossed over their shoulders underneath as they were pulled into the confines of the sarcophagus, their chests soon pressing against one another as they were put in sideways. They looked into each other's wide eyes with fear. Their team knew they were here though! They would come and save them! Right!?
With a deep, maniacal chuckle, the Cofagrigus's lid slammed shut, muffling all sound from the two captives within it. It would hold onto them for a long, long time. Preserving them. Ensuring that no moment of their captivity would go without lament for desecration of the dead. Maybe it would let them go. Or maybe it would turn them into permanently mummified womon. Whatever the outcome, the Cofagrigus generally didn't consider fun when it came to its duty.
... but it was certainly enjoying the squirming from the two mummy girls inside itself.
