My favorite little blue blur

I wanted to upload since its been a whole month since my last submission...yikes...
I was working on this as a part of a scene of Green Hill Zone for my next drawing, I just haven't gotten around to making the digital version quite yet. I thought it may be spoiling the completed piece for me to upload this, but after planning out the composition I think there will still be enough of a surprise left once I bring everything together on one canvas.

I was on a Sonic high after Sonic Superstars came out, and had a lot of fun with the game. While I was looking through Sonic concept art, I saw Tyson Heese's version of Sonic and I absolutely adored it, it really made me want that as the official classic render or artwork for Sonic, but I also think the most recent look for everyone in Superstars is the best the classic cast has ever looked in 3D too. So combining the things I liked about Tyson's rendition over the 'classic' look for Sonic: My favorite thing about Tyson's version are the little quills in between the three larger ones on Sonic's head. Then I tapered off the pudgy roundness of his torso in his classic style for a more 'adventure' Sonic shape around his hips. Then I extended the legs a little bit, added some length on the arms to balance, and then gave the shoes some treads on the underside.
