Description
"Listen to the Words of the Great Mother, Who was of old called among men Artemis, Astarte, Diana, Melusine, Aphrodite, Cerridwen, Dana, Arianrhod, Isis, Bride, and by many other Names. At My Altars the youth of most distant ages gave love, and made due sacrifice. Whenever ye have need of anything, once in the month, and better it be when the Moon is Full, then shall ye gather in some secret place and adore the Spirit of Me, Who am Queen of All Witcheries. There shall ye gather, ye who are fain to learn all Magick, yet have not yet won its deepest secrets: to these will I teach things that are yet unknown."Taken from "The Charge of the Goddess" - Originally written by Doreen Valiente.
This is a peice I have wanted to do for a while, and I am so glad its done now! Critique is welcome, I am, for the most part, happy with it, I had a few stumbling blocks along the way though
All work done in Photoshop CS. Lots of brush work & repainting! Approximately 11 hours.

another really well done pic. the colours are great, the composition, the pose, the lighting are all good. and the light effects really add to mystery of it.

So beautiful. Love the way the water glistens, the onyx dress is stunning and the way the nights magic envelops her. So cool.

Very beautiful, the girl, the rocks, the water... I just don't like the way the clouds are meeting with the sea. It seems unnatural. Maybe you should try adding some fog? It would make sea look like... evaporating. Still, very nice piece! ^^

I love the mood of this piece. The color scheme is nicely chosen.
Iβve been trying to figure out how to get that βflareβ effect with the stars (Iβm just starting out in Photoshop). Any hints?

flare? you mean to make them look alive like that? I use layer styles, outer glow, try playing with that, using color overlays, even gradient overlays that should give you some real stand out effects, just gotta play with it some to get the hang of it and to see what you like
Thanks for the comment!

Acually, I meant the "lens flare" effect that gives the stars their points. I'm thinking now that this effect came from the brushes you used... I'm trying to make a large (6000 x 9000 pixel) star field, and was looking for some Photoshop trick for adding the lens flare effect to my larger stars.

Sorry for the late response, as for the lens flare effect I use certain brushes, but I also use things like outer glow and such. Good luck with your starfield!

Thanks! I also found a good online tutorial on making star fields, which should help.

I really like this one... It's the atmosphere that's got my attention. It's so dark yet so light. I hope to see more of this work from you. (I mean the light-dark)

I think I've commented on this before but I just wanted to say that I love it to death and that I'm glad you made it a print. If I ever win a contest or something, I will select this as the print that I get!
