So apparently Dark Spyro from Crash on the Run is supposed to be the same character as Spyro from The Legend of Spyro, an idea which I don't really like for several reasons.
1) Because it would indicate that Legend Spyro becomes evil and an enemy of Classic Spyro.
2) His design doesn't look like Legend Spyro, as he was clearly modeled after the design used for (Classic) Spyro in Crash on the Run. In fact, his color scheme is more similar to Skylanders Dark Spyro than Legend Dark Spyro.

Also in my timeline, Legend Spyro is much older than both Classic Spyro and Skylanders Spyro, with the Legend series set about 3000 years in the past.

Instead, in my timeline, Crash Dark Spyro (aka what I consider Classic Dark Spyro) is a counterpart of Classic Spyro from the Mirror Multiverse, which is essentially my version of a bunch of different parallel universes including Moebius from the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics, the mirror universe from Star Trek and the Mirror of Mystery from Skylanders.
