The Testimony of the Mad American, Coyote Kojot:

Tonight, I steeled my will and drew forth, a few steps toward the abandoned house, through the gullet of the bewitched wood.

The stairs beyond the darkness crumbled underfoot and tendrils of ivy and wisteria creeping across the walk felt like small, clawed fingers, scraping and biting at my ankles, slowing my progress and filling my mind with dread.

Whispers tickle my ears and noises from the house conjured shadows lurking in my vision as they stalked through the almost solid shroud of black.

I quickly duck beneath an overgrown branch reaching down from a knotted tree beside the walk and a twig slides across the back of my neck, melting the tender bits of my bravery into a cold, slippery sweat down my back.

I turn to escape only to see that behind me, the black, jagged teeth of darkness and writhing shadow are closing around my escape....
