Mind i ask what all equipment you used?

did you have mirror lockup?
What kind of tripod setup?

My one and only equipment for macro photography is a Pentax istDL body with a Pentax 70-210 f4 old zoom lens and Raynox DCR-250 macro adapter. I have a very shaky tripod, a homemade cable release and 2x500W cheap halogen lamps. And yes, I used mirror lockup. And... that's it!

That 100mm is a good lens, a very good choice. You may consider also a set of extension tubes. Combined with that macro lens, you'll get fantastic results!
