this is my first time ever working with charcoal, and also my first ever attempt at a portrait.
I can't claim that it really looks as close to the original photo as I would like, but hopefully it's not TOO inhuman. I'm really just trying out a whole bunch of different things right now, and this was one of those attempts 
*edit* Went back to the image and changed the contrast on adobe, because the scanner sucked out most of the distinction. The original scan is a scrap now.
