Description
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Conquest – Raphael design
Raphael is an alligator snapping turtle who is the muscle of the team, often eager for a fight and spending his spare time working out to gain muscle. He is also the most aggressive turtle on the team, as he is quick to lose his temper on a few occasions, even over the pettiest of offences. However, part of his attitude stems from the fact that he and his brothers are the only one of their kind and ultimately feel alone in the world. In addition, he often butts heads with Leonardo due to Leonardo disapproving of his fierce temper and rebellious attitude towards him. In turn, Raphael resents the fact that Leo was chosen to be the leader instead of him. Despite this, they still work closely on several occasions.
For Raph’s design, his species, plastron design, and some elements (such as his elbow pads and belt) come directly from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However, there is one detail that I took from the 2012 TMNT series; the lightning-shaped crack on the left side of his plastron (which I thought was a good way to show scars from a fight). Meanwhile, his dark green skin tone comes from the 2003 TMNT series. And, like most media, he retains his signature twin sai, rather than the tonfas he had to Rise.
Up next - Michelangelo, the party dude.
