Doctor Ruax Treloar is an unaffiliated biomancer living in the Imperium of the Thousand Isles some 50 years after the defeat of the Mol'anath. He serves as an aid and agent of Lord Cerion Archer in his mission to protect the Dracanae people, a minor mutated portion of the Izanami population.

In truth, the good doctor's identity is that of Ruax Rimmon Redgrave, last heir to the House of Redgrave, a branch family of the hated Hargrave Dynasty. Where the Hargraves were brutal dictators and puppet rulers for their Mol'anath masters, the Redgraves prided themselves on their scientific endeavors to advance the study of biomancy and medicine.

Ruax came to Prahl to study the Dracanae in secret and has since dedicated himself to their protection, even marrying a Dracanae woman named Xenovia who now carries their first child.
