Personality: Carnelian is a very very old gem. She's been through many battles and acted as a high functioning quartz soldier (even higher than an agate) due to her being an incredible strategist. As a young gem she was happy to be promoted and help her diamond out in any way she could. She was originally in pink diamond's court and fought in the great gem war. During the war, she became more and more unhappy with what her skills were being used for. Carnelian lost her sense of who she was as well as her loyalty to homeworld, and she told pink diamond straight to her face in an outburst. Because pink diamond had a whole rebellion going against her and her plans she couldn't afford to shatter one of her greatest strategists but also couldn't just let Carnelian be. Carnelian was banished in the hopes she'd eventually return to homeworld when they had figured out that that was were they belonged, but Carnelian took off and never returned. She eventually crashed her ship on SED's planet and is now living a more peaceful life as Ducis.
