Description
Thought I would illustrate how Bryan and Haxorus first met and became partners.

My partner and I go way back, many years ago.

Back when I began my adventure in the Unova region, I considered myself a future champion in the making. After collecting my sixth gym badge, and with Tynamo as a new addition to my team, I decided to explore the cave just south of Mistralton City, commonly known as Mistralton Cave.

With Tynamo as my only source of light, I journeyed deep into the cave. The cave was filled with Boldores and Woobats, both of which I had already seen many times before.

But then, deeper within the cave, a new kind of Pokemon caught my attention: a small baby dragon Pokémon with short tusks and a short horn on its head. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a small chip on its left tusk. I also heard it faintly crying.

Looking at my PokéDex, I realized it was an Axew. I had heard that it was a rare Pokémon that only lived in Mistralton Cave. Perhaps this one chipped his tusk during a fight, or got separated from its group and is lost. Either way, I knew it was scared.

I don't know how or why, but I had a feeling that this Axew was lonely and in need of a good trainer. Someone to care for him. Someone to help him get stronger. Someone... like me.

I kneeled down and inched closer to the little Axew, reaching my hand out. "Don't be scared, little guy," I said calmly. "I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want to help you out."

The Axew cautiously approached me and sniffed my hand. Then it licked me. It was clear that the Axew trusted me immediately.

I reached into my backpack and pulled out a Great Ball. I held it out in front of Axew and said, "Do you wish to come with me?"

Axew smiled. Without hesitation, it pressed its forehead against the Great Ball, allowing itself to go inside. The ball shook a few times, then it clicked. The Axew was now mine.

I couldn't and still can't believe I captured a Pokémon like this. Axew already trusted me as a trainer even before I caught it. It was almost as if... we were destined for each other.

Ever since that encounter, we've been friends ever since. Axew eventually evolved, and so did our partnership and friendship. But that's a story for another time...
