Millions of years ago evil began invading the universe, the people of Eltar prayed for salvation from the evil forces. There prayers were answered when the Gosei Angels came from Heaven, the first Power Rangers. They battled the forces of evil in the universe and protected the innocent and helpless. The Gosei Angels also provided the people of Eltar with means to defend themselves.

They brought with them the Corona Aurora, the "Crown of the gods" its five crown jewels containing the power of the Morphing Grid. The people of Eltar began researching the jewels and their connection to the Morphin Grid. They reversed engineered technology from Cybertron, Galvan Prime and other worlds and using the Corona Aurora's jewels the people of Eltar created five power coins that they gave to their finest warriors, creating the first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and fought evil.

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers continued the mission that the Gosei Angels started in fighting evil. They also formed an alliance with the dinosaurs and Saurian people of Planet Earth, sharing their technology with them. Because of their relations with the Saurians the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' motif was inspired by the dinosaurs, however the Mighty Morphin powers were versatile, able to adapt and assimilate other Ranger powers and technology into their own.
