"Are you ready yet?" my mom questioned me from outside the changing room.
"Of course I'm not! But do I really have a choice?" I sighed. "I'm coming out now." I stepped out of the changing room, heels clicking on the tile floor.
"How do I look?" I barely got the question out before being nearly knocked to the floor by my mom hugging me.
"Calm down, I'm gonna fall. These are really hard to keep your balance on", I said.
"You just look so beautiful! I think I'm going to cry..."“Please don’t, I know you always wanted a daughter and all but isn’t this a little overkill?”
“Honey the great shift gave you the gift of this beautiful body, I am just trying to help you get used to it, and get comfortable showing it off a little.”
“I don’t know mom, isn’t this a little overkill?”
“No it's perfect, and would you stop calling me Mom, we are nearly the same age now. So just call me Kelly, oh and I got the perfect name for you.”
“And what would that be?”
“Well since your old name was Andrew I was thinking Angel, what do you think?”
“Whatever makes you happy Kelly, not like I have much of a choice in the matter…”
