The next day, everyone met by the request boards. Pike was late. When Yachi came up she looked around for Pike.
"Has anyone seen Pike?" Yachi asked.
Everyone else shrugged. Just then Pike meet up with them out of breath because he was running.
"Where were you? We were waiting for you" Flame said.
"I… *huff huff* I got this tool to help find Xeon" Pike responded.
Pike fumbled with his backpack and pulled out a weird device that looked like a dish attached to a box with a screen on it.
"What is it" Spark asked curiously.
"That's Xeon's. What would it do?" Yachi asked.
"When Xeon turned it on, the picture showed an arrow that pointed at frost. We followed it and Frost started to run away from it" Pike explained.
"It is an aura tracker your a genius Pike,but how do you turn it on?"
"Well…" Pike started clicking random buttons.
The screen came on and had an arrow pointing to something. Something inside the forest.
"Shall we go after it" Kipper asked.
"Yep" Pike replied.
Everyone started hiking through the forest.
Pike was intently watching and following the arrow of the device.
"Umm Pike…" kipper called out to him.
Pike was still staring at the device.
"PIKE STOP" Yachi yelled.
Everyone tied to grab Pike. He looked up and down and noticed he was standing above a hole.
"Ahh pull me" Pike screamed.
They pulled him away but the device fell out of his hand and down the hole. Actually it seemed to rest just above the hole as if it was solid land.
"Wait a minute" Pike stuck his foot out hesitantly and brought it over the hole.
"This isn't a hole! It's just a very dark spot on the floor" Pike said as he stepped on the black surface that looked like the hole.
Pike walked over to the device.
"So what is this dark stuff than" Flame asked.
Pike picked up the device and started walking back.
"I don't really know but…" Pike stopped as he noticed the device pointed to the center of the hole "Wait a minute! The device points here. Now I know what is here"
"Xeon" Yachi said "He always leaked some dark stuff wherever he slept. He must be here."
"We'll search for him here" Flame, Kipper, and Spark said in unison.
They all searched. Flame and Spark used embers to clear some of the dark matter. Underneath the pitch black stuff was grass and soil, and right in the middle was a giant chunk of ice.
"What is that" Kipper asked gazing up at the icy stone.
"Let's find out" Pike replied "Flame and Spark. You two will melt the ice use your Flame thrower!"
Flame and Spark shot several bursts of flames at the icy rock.
"Okay let's see how far we melted through" Pike stopped them.
They ceased fire and looked back at the ice block. There was little damage if there was any damage at all.
"Wow that thing can resist your heat Kipper said to his teammates.
"We must keep trying. Try to burn through" Pike said encouragingly.
Proceeding to melt the ice block, Spark and Flame blew heavy streams of bright hot light. After both of them got tired they stopped to see what progress they accomplished. Still the block of Ice remains as if untouched.
"Is there anything I can do to help" Yachi asked Pike "I can control stuff telekinetically using psychic."
"Go for it" Pike replied, not willing to give up hope yet.
Yachi concentrated on the ice block. A pink bubble formed around the ice block. The air around it seemed to whir loudly. Everything was buzzing with the volume increasing. So of the soil seemed to part but the ice block went nowhere. There was now an empty gap surrounding the ice block while if floated where it has been the entire time. Yachi was concentrating so hard she did not notice Pike, Flame, Spark, and Kipper all tugging at her to stop. Yachi let her power die and the pink orb vanished. The soil rushed around to fill the vacant he it was in.
"Wow whoever made that is strong" Yachi exclaimed "my powers are really strong but the ice block here is stronger."
"I got one last idea" Pike said somewhat nervously "you can use psychic to throw me and I use iron tail and knock it down."
"Are you sure you want to do this" Yachi asked sternly.
"I am sure. Anything to save Xeon."
"Okay hold on" Yachi used psychic to pull Pike back a couple feet.
"Ready Pike?"
"Yes!"
Yachi launched Pike straight at the ice block.
He prepared his iron tail for impact. splat it did not work.
"Pike we should head back" Flame said.
"Yeah it's getting dark" Kipper joined.
"Okay let's head back" Pike said glumly.
