i love this shot very much. there is one of my favorite quotes that pops in my head when i see this, its from Ursula K Le Guin's book "A Wizard of Earthsea":
To light a candle is to cast a shadow.

wow i cant belive its that dark, at my house it could be 2 in da moring and u can see each individual blade of grass (and i live in da country)
nice shot though! love the shadow, it really must have been dark.
the backing is weird...it musta been from other light sources or something.
nice shot though!

Not much to comment since the full view is so very tiny.
The shadow comes out nice, but I wish the actual shape of the tree had a cleaner background. As far as I can notice, the snow has no texture. Perhaps a shorter exposition time would have helped.
I like long exposure shots a lot because they are so unpredictable; the film's color response curve gets all messed up and you can end up with quite interesting results.
Cheers.

the projection of the shadow is awesome, and the contrast achieved is also very good. it seems like heat fighting against cold. good stuff

For ~critiqueme .
Oooh, what happened? That's a really small picture. I can't really see any of the details or any part of the picture really to comment. But from what I see, looks like the trees got burnt out, probably from the 2 min. exposure. I am not really sure what you could do about that other than perhaps reduce the exposure time to maybe one minute?
Snow is usually tought to photograph but looks like in this case you got it really nice and white.

Wow! That shadow is really really great! It must have been really dark out for an exposure that long. I always wish I had a cable release or something so I could do similar night shots. Alas. Well done!
