I have no idea what he's thinking now. Just... He might be up to something. Or he's just plotting his next plan on giving a hug to anyone nearby. Yeah, that's most likely it...Well, two things. You can tell this took me a while. Also, halfway through it all, lighting changed and threw me off. Yay perfectionistic traits in my mind...
And I do hope this is an ok thing to post now before the power for me could go out due to a windstorm in possibly the next 7 hours. Better before work than never! *sigh* I'm so tired and sad this windstorm has to happen around this time almost every year...
So I will be around after a while. Hopefully the power outage isn't too long lasting... Hope you all have a good week.

It was clear he was doing better to hide, being less careless to have his tail sitting around in plain sight. He must be either hiding super well or even watching you. He must be having fun with you just looking everywhere.

I move on to another area. The trees, bushes and tall grass would make it easy for him to hide pretty much anywhere. If I were a snake where would I hide? A tree, probably. It would give me time to quickly move without being noticed if someone were nearby. With that reasoning I'd never find him if he were hiding in a tree. Hmm.

But hi! *squeezes*)
I continue scanning the are and look closely for any little sign. I check, double check and triple check and then I finally see - just barely see - some flattened grass. The flattened path seems too big for a normal snake so maybe he went this way. I start following the path and silently pray it doesn't lead to an anaconda.Β

*The path ends and you are left with tall grass, a few bushes, and a tree the closest to the end point. He had to be here.*

I eventually come to a point where the path ends at a tree. It doesn't look too tall, it's certainly climbable, but it would definitely give someone the coverage they needed to hide - even if that someone happened to be a 50-foot snake. I start to climb the tree, testing each branch's strength along the way. Yeah, he could definitely hide here.Β

As quietly as I can, I continue climbing the tree but inevitably shake a few branches along the way. Shoot. I check every stable branch I can for red and yellow but don't see those colors. Only green. Continuing to climb I decide that if I'll find him it'll probably be at the top.Β

{Again, apologies for being so damn slow. I'll try to pick up my speed. I've got two days in a row off, though! 
Getting just a little frustrated I decide to start looking a little more carefully and check behind some leaves. There, a little glimpse of a red and yellow tail and the colors are so vibrant there's no way it could be a normal snake. Should I say something, though, or just stay here until he gets bored? If he isn't already bored.

Naga: *waiting patiently in his hiding spot, trying to play fair, but contemplating on moving to you with you a little. He would do it because you're his friend, but feels it's be cheating* ...

I reach out and gently tap the tail, still cautious just in case, by some massive stroke of incredibly bad luck, it somehow isn't him. It's ridiculous to worry at this point, though. The pattern isn't right for the "red and yellow kill a fellow" snake, whatever it's called. I still keep a bit of distance though.Β

Naga: ...? *feels his tail be poked* ... *tail feels around and touches your face* ...! *looks back and slithers down towards where his tail is*

I giggle a little when his tail feels around my face. "Hi, there." I say as he gets closer. "Looks like I actually" -barely- "managed to find you. You didn't get too bored did you?"

I smile at the warmth surrounding me when he wraps his tail around me. Oh wow, I nearly missed my chance to actually catch him because I was being too paranoid, and for no reason. "And where would you have moved to?" I ask as I consider all the places he could've chosen to move to. He would've left a trail again if he didn't move through the trees but I still might not have found him.
{If Naga found out I was being paranoid about venomous snakes that look nothing like him...

My smile fades a little. Behind me? As in right behind me? That would've been mean, but it technically wouldn't have been cheating, right? Would I have even noticed? He would've been able to win just doing that, unless I decided to turn around, at least. "Yeah, you would've won if you did that. Unless I turned around and spotted you."

My smile widens a little at the warmth from the stroke of his tail. "Naga, can you wrap me up a bit more?" I ask. "It's been kind of cold lately and you're always so warm. It's almost like having a fireplace surrounding you." Okay, maybe not just as warm as a fireplace but ... close.

"Definitely warmer than my hoodie." I say, enjoying the extra warmth. "I'm not used to the cold and I hate it. It sucks and it shouldn't be allowed to get any colder than sixty-five degrees." Goodness, it's supposed to be warm here for Christ's sake.
{I know jungles are generally warm but I still feel the need to gripe about the cold. I mean, Florida does have about 2 weeks of cold in the winter but it feels like it's been much longer.}
