Description
~Low Key~Though often called the koala "bear," this cuddly animal is not a bear at all; it is a marsupial, or pouched mammal. After giving birth, a female koala carries her baby in her pouch for about six months. When the infant emerges, it rides on its mother's back or clings to her belly, accompanying her everywhere until it is about a year old.
Koalas live in eastern Australia, where the eucalyptus trees they love are most plentiful. In fact, they rarely leave these trees, and their sharp claws and opposable digits easily keep them aloft. During the day they doze, tucked into forks or nooks in the trees, sleeping for up to 18 hours.
This one was captured at the San Diego Zoo's Austrailian Outback section.

OK you ready, this time your even more awesome . you not only take a great photograph but you also give really great information about the subject in the photograph. which is great because believe it or not there are people who do not know this animal or it's origin. so i really like that with your photography you ether write a topic or poem and you do it in such ease. i love how you focus on the subject in hand and blurred out the back ground. the picture is i can say perfect in every way. well done !thanks

actually they were nearly shot to extinction ...for their fur till they found out it didnt last.... so the story goes
also there population are under threat cause of disease and thats not to mention the more and more urban sprawl
they are quite particular I believe about the eucalyptus trees species they eat fromΒ
Sadly like a lot of wild life on this planet the only place they may survive is in zoo's under captured breeding programs..
cuase of either and or habitat destruction or poaching for what ever reason
Our love of Money will be the death of a lot of them
Really Nice shot my friend of lovely Creature
