Alice has gone mad, and she's wondering what to do.She thought about going to a doctor, but she didn't know where to start. She had heard of psychiatrists, but wasn't sure what they did or how much they cost. And then there were all those terrible rumors about crazy people being locked up in asylums and not having any rights or freedom at all!
So instead, Alice went out looking for her friends the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat. But they were nowhere to be found: The rabbit was running late and the cat had disappeared without a trace! So Alice decided that maybe she should just go home and try again tomorrow.
But when Alice got home, she saw that her house was different than it had been before—all twisted up like one of those M.C. Escher drawings! And all of her furniture had been moved around as well! She looked out the window and saw that everything in Wonderland was crooked too—it looked like someone had taken a paintbrush and messed everything up by swirling it around in circles with no rhyme or reason!
