'More advanced biology'? Advanced with respect to what?
Biology evolves according to the conditions it faces and because it is a slow process and we're caught up in it we don't see evolution still working around us.
Life on earth has some pretty advanced designs. You'd be surprised.

Beautiful! Love the butterfly-style eyespots. The skin texture seems at odds with the flatworm-like body shape (to me as a terrestrial viewer!), which makes it very alien!
