Kelpies are malevolent, shape-shifting water spirits from Scottish legend. They are said to most often appear in the form of a dark horse. Occasionally they take the forms of human men. Kelpies offer people to ride on their back and then drown their riders in the river.

The Kelpie is made from a light-weight, plasticine clay. The finished sculpture is light and slightly soft to the touch. It was painted with acrylic paint.
