This is one of the best shots of poi I have seen. You should post this at Home of Poi [link] . It will be greatly appreciated there.

Wow - seriously popular image - took two and a half minutes to even get this box downloaded - lol - anyway - this is total class. Above and beyond the gorgeous photo, you've presented it really well too. Worthy of hanging in a gallery to be honest.

I usually don't scroll all the way down to comment on daily favs... I figure if that many people have commented, my input probably won't even be noticed. But in your case, I felt like I had to. For a photo to come out like that with no manipulation, that's some talent behind the lense. Great composition & framing too. Excellent all around.

To the people who don't know what this is:
It's poi, which is a sort of circus toy (sorta thing).
Also called fire-spinning, it involves holding a chain in each hand with a weight (sometimes covered in fuel and set alight, as is the case here) on the end and then spinning and weaving the poi around the body and each other.
If you're thinking of taking up this hobby then i'd recommend starting with non-fire poi
I've seen a similar photo before, but still cool.

I guess everything important is said already. Anyhow that ring of fire is so marvelously portrayed. It looks like there's a person inside it. Instantly reminded me of Stanislaw Lem's Eden where the folk of eden had these weird vechiles that I always pictured as large rings of fire of some sort.
Really awesome photo indeed.

Great capture, and dispite what some say I like the autograph being big - I'm not so sure about the huge black sapace above the main photo, but
anyways
