Akito was made when Edward was younger and more a bit like a rookie. 9 months after he left, Akito was born. 6 months after her birth, pirates attacked the village but the marines got there in time. Melanie was killed protecting her child and she was found by a marine cadet. The marine took her to the (still commander in that time) Sengoku, he took her in as his foster child. Because of the pirate attack, she grew a hatred towards pirates and her unknown father.
