I swear there is NO editing here! (well, I won't lie, I cut the image to make it square).
I was preparing myself for a photoshoot, and after I painted one eye and put one of the contact lenses, I was like, 'woah, makes a difference'. Had never really realized until now. Pale perfect skin, blue feline eye, big lips. And then freckled face, brown eye, no eyelashes.
Bam, cleaned my right side and took a picture. Sweet.

Just look at what make-up can do.
Me gusta.

amazing shot

make-up is like a mask some people put on.
it hides part of them selves to others
it gives others the strength to go on
but most importantly it makes people feel confident in what they do

( and i don't even wear make up but that came to mind xD )

The symbolism behind this Β buddhist drawing is talking about the two worlds of beauty. It talks about religion and atheism. The light and the dark. The exposed and the covered, the make up, and the face. This picture has touched my heart and I will never forget this magnificent picture. Never. You have done something so great.Β

you look pretty enough without make-up.
Also the stuff is bad for your skin, you get creases a lot earlier.
You have a nice skin color, so why make it pale?
Let me tell you; I'm very pale natrually -Β  friends often say like a ghost - ; it's not funny, at all.
People always ask 'Are you alright?' and stuff, and docs send me to a bloodtest, period.

Well anyway, very nice picture, you made a great job showing the difference and make it come tothe fore. Β

I actually think the use of the word pale means softer, smooth overal colour.
I really like this.
And I really think she's beautyful without it.
Well, she's beautiful either way

Wonderful photo, love the idea. Different kinds of beauty, but still equally beautiful.

I too am bugged by most people's impulse to say "natural is better" or "you don't need make-up". Maybe the person who uses make-up knows that she or he is beautiful and they don't do it to hide or perfect themselves. Make-up can be used just as an art form, because you like to play with colours, shapes and what they express to the viewer, and not necessarily to make one more beautiful. Especially in photography, the details of make-up or lack thereof are significant to the composition, and in everyday life as well, they are an expression of your personality and mood.

I kind of got caught by this picture. I love the "With Makeup v. Without Makeup" pictures like this, but this one made me laugh, too! You put on makeup to get "Pale perfect skin, blue feline eye, big lips" and I'd rather have the other side! I love freckles, I wish I had any! And I wish I had brown eyes!

I've always thought it was funny how people like what they don't have. Just the way you describe the two looks makes it seem like you'd rather have blue eyes, pale skin and red lips. I can tell you for a fact I'd rather look like the left! P.S - I have nothing against blue eyes and pale skin but I've got them and they're boring to me!

Shidobu-Cloud [2013-02-03 09:34:44 +0000 UTC]

Okay, I'm going to be that guy. Honestly, I like the make-up side more. I feel like if I could see two complete faces, one with make-up and one without I could make a better decision, but there is a reason that we do certain things to ourselves to make us more attractive and this happens to be one of them. I'm not saying that the half without is not beautiful, it's just not as appealing as the half with. That probably seems fairly obvious but I felt it needed to be said (if not again). Then there's the part about eye color. It is a known fact that, biologically and sociologically, people find blue eyes to be more attractive. It's part of life. We always find the rare and scarce traits to be appealing because they are different and blue eyes are far rarer than brown eyes genetically. It's unfair to use blue eyes in this photo since the concept seems to be "make-up vs not". However, even if it were a brown eye I were looking at I still would not change my decision. Interesting.

MissisBlue In reply to Shidobu-Cloud [2013-02-22 08:49:15 +0000 UTC]

Where I come from most of the people have blue eyes, so I find blue eyes very common and bland. And I like the without make-up version better because I can see her freckles better. But yeah, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
