Don’t let the name fool ya. It is a very delicious recipe, mainly based on Wendy’s model. As we all know, in Wendy’s, the leftover meat of the previous day is used on the chili the next day in order to use all of the produce that didn’t sold the previous day and - in that way- not wasting produce and adding a delicious item to the menu.
The ingredients are:
-Canned Tomato paste (chipotle would be better)
-Sliced and diced onions
- Sliced and diced peppers
-Boiled beans (preferably with salt and garlic)
- the protein (It could be hamburger or texan BBQ sausage from the previous meal)
- Achiote (can be replaced with smoked paprika) , garlic powder and pepper at taste
- Salt
- Pepper at taste
1- in a pan, heat the protein and smash it so it can recooked thoroughly while adding the onions, the achiote and the red peppers
2- add the beans, the tomato sauce, salt and pepper.
3- You’ll need to stir the ingredients until it integrates nicely for about 10 minutes. You can taste it as you go and see if there’s something missing
4- Let it get cold so it can get harder enough to eat with some Tostitos
5- Add cheddar cheese (optional)
