He's the offspring of Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira. He was well aware of his parent's past. Carlos acquired the same version of the Super Soldier serum that was given to Taskmaster. In an effort of support Jill, he injected himself with it and years later they met each other during the last fight against Wesker, alongside the Thunderbolts. Jill killed Wesker and was began her relationship with Carlos. They sired a son that called Roberto, in honor of Robert Kendo, a friend of Jill's
