Description
One of the two paintings I did for Halloween on October 2021, inspired by the dead world of Charn from the Chronicles of Narnia: the Magician’s Nephew, in which Digory and Polly entered a world with a dying red sun, where they met Jadis the Witch Queen of Charn. I painted the background bluish black, and the tree in glow-in-the-dark paint (gitd), including brown for the wood, red for the blood and the sun, browinsh green for the dead grass, and white for the face of suffering horror. I imagined the tree being one that contained all the cruelty that happened in Charn, even after Jadis used the Deplorable Word to put her home, everyone and everything in it out their misery.
