TFW you realize you've just done the same thing that's been pissing you off all day.Can't fight it Dash. You're in my world. Everyone gets shipped here.
So for those who are new here: it's a bit of a running gag that Rainbow Dash is usually the straight man or butt of the joke when it comes to shipping humor in my comics. This is sort of a follow up to all that. An idea that I had been playing with for a while, and wanted to draw out now. Seeing as it lets me pay homage to some of my favourite ships out there. ^^

I'm curious, how exactly do you go about planning these comics?
I mean both in writing & art direction.

It usually starts with an idea. Something that I really want to draw, or a good joke I came up with. Then I figure out which characters would be best for the situation or the joke, or sometimes the characters are the reason for the situation or the joke, and then I work from there. Poses and backgrounds or lack thereof are decided later depending on what suits best.

How do you know the number of panels you'll need?

Depends on how long the story or the joke is. How much i want to happen in a single panel. You don't want to crowd your panels, but you don't want them feeling empty either. Finding a good balance is important.

Oh they're not dating. At least not yet. At the moment they're still friends, though there's already romantic interest on Fluttershy's side, as you could see here. The "arc" I'm planning with these two is Dash realizing this, and her own feelings, and coming to terms with that.
Amelie LaCroix, aka Widowmaker, is a character from Overwatch. She and Lena Oxton, aka Tracer (the brown haired girl), are both teachers at CHS in my comics. They're also my favourite ship in the Overwatch franchise.

And that makes Rainbow Dash realised why she hated this and vomit.

Rainbow Dash: Groan. Yeah, at least I'm better. Thanks.
Fluttershy: You're welcome. Now, have some more muffins.
Rainbow Dash: Really? But that's your lunch.
Fluttershy: No worries, I have packed extras, so you can have it.
Rainbow Dash: Gee, thanks. I love you, Fluttershy!

One problem I have with this is tracer is already engaged to someone and it ain't widowmaker

This is Widowmaker we're talking about. She doesn't gives any fucks about rules or morals, in fact defying them is probably a major turn on for her so it makes sense that she'd try to get with someone engaged or married. I'd bet that if Tracer was single Amelie would only go as far as teasing instead of flirting or seducing.
