Description
An arid, low gravity world orbiting a dying white dwarf binary system. The sandy terrain is in a constant state of oxidization - in essence, the planet itself is literally rusting. This phenomenon is believed to be caused by what little moisture remains in the planet's atmosphere reacting with the constant high-radiation bombardment from the decaying beta star. This also causes immense, rusty dust storms that constantly sweep across the planet's surface. However, this is a boon for the local flora and fauna who feed upon the rusty byproduct of this phenomena. As a result, the life that feeds upon the iron-rich landscape is stained a rusty brown and is often covered in a thick shell of armour in order to protect form the constant radiation and unrelenting weather. To the right, a pair of 10-foot tall bipedal arthropods roam. The reason as to why they are so tall is to protect their fragile reproductive organs/eggs from the scorching hot sands upon which they delicately step. Their height is also due to the planet's low gravity; it being a third of the Earth's. To feed, they drop down long spindly limbs to pick at the filter-feeding, bioluminescent land-tube worms, which collect iron deposits and other nutrients from the shifting sands.CS4, wacom tablet, 10 hours, and a box of oreos. Critiques welcome... could really use some more work.
