One's fate can take a dramatic turn for better or for worse, depending on what actions he chooses to act upon. Corruption infiltrates the bard of fate as he learns to use his abilities, however, his abilities come with the price of allowing a darkness inside of him to grow. Fate is nothing, if not an equal chance for two beings (one good and one evil) to co-exist.
