Ashe had convinced Matilda and Hajime to go looking for Venn, Hajime was not too thrilled about the idea but there was no stopping him. they traveled alongside the river as Ashe kept hopping on onto rocks and logs to see better, Hajime glanced at the water " be careful please, the river looks a little fast today..".Matilda looked like something was on her mind as she walked ahead of the group. She was unusually silent, initially hoping the sudden adventure would take her mind off of it. The orange wyngling didn't focus on what the other two were saying much. Ashe jumped up onto a branch on an old fallen tree and looked down at his brother "well if your worried so much then you jump up here and help me look, mr taller then me" ,Hajime rolled his eyes "yes im taller but im also heavier, if i go up there it will break do you want that?" Hajime kept walking forward but his attention was on the grey wyngling currently laughing at what he just implied about himself, bumping into Matilda brought his attention back to where he was walking, he stumbled back in surprise "oh, sorry Matilda" he noticed her expression "..are you ok?". "Never been better" Matilda came off more curt than she intended. She looked up at Ashe, then down to the water "You should probably listen to your brother Ashe, I don't want to be the one to fish your corpse out of the river you're gonna fall in" She called over. Ashe sighed " ouch no faith in me i see, i have a good vantage point here give me a second" he stands up and climbs to a higher branch, Hajime grumbled " what a great time to be stubborn" he looks back to Matilda with a concerned expression , she was defiantly acting off but he didn't want to push too much. Matilda let out a short, strangled noise of frustration, she was usually patient with the younger kid "Ashe! I'm serious, get down from there!" Matilda was thinking of how she was gonna scale the way up there if she had to grab him, cause clearly he wasn't coming down any time soon. a small cracking noise is heard, Hajime was also losing his patience" hes clearly not here , you know how big this place is he could be anywhere, lets go back" Ashe keeps his eyes on the forest behind them, something cracks again, " i think i see something moving over there...but your right we can try again some other time" he looks a little disappointed and turned to get down. The branch he was standing on snapped off completely, Hajime tried to jump up and pull him back to land but he couldn't react in time before his brother disappeared into the river....
Callum heard what sounded like someone talking near the river but paid no mind to it, writing it off as spites trying to mess with them, he kept his focus on Vitani who was picking any flower she saw and adding it to the pile she had collected in the curl of Callums tail, he kept his eyes on her as the noise got louder, it really did sound like someone was yelling, something felt off he calls to his daughter "vi stay close to me" he gets up and Vitani runs over next to him, now fully focused on the noise ,the yelling sounded panicked that time followed by a splash. he runs towards the voices,they reach the clearing by the river and see two wynglings running alongside the fast running river, he thought nothing of it until he notice they were running after someone being swept away, he looks down at Vitani " go get Venn now!" she hesitated for a moment before shakily nodding and running back into the bushes. without thinking ,Callum rushed along side the river to catch up with the gray shape and jumped in.
