Description

He decided to look for help while learning the layout of the town and surrounding area.
It was rather calming for his growing nerves, as the town was naturally very peaceful and... decently quiet. Some of the locals, from what he observed, were rather....

The small gray wyngling scrunched his face as he looked at a couple of rowdy adults, walking to what he assumed was a Sappery.
Hm... Loud.

He shook his head and continued to walk along a forested path. As care-free and uncaring some of the townsfolk seem to be, he still couldn't trust them. He couldn't let his guard down, he must be careful, even in this small town. This is why he has to stop staring at wyngrew who walk past him and start looking for who he could trust. Someone he could talk to.

He let out a tired groan, dropping his head to stare at the dirt and grass under his paws. It was hopeless. How would he ever trust someone enough to talk to them? How could he even gain a companion without knowing they were lying straight to his face! Maybe he should just try and figure how to live on his own, he knows enough about taking care of himself, he just needs shelter and maybe an education of sorts because he is still a child-

"HYAH!! HA! HU- Oh! Awh man.."

The wyngling stopped in his tracks, ears perked as he looked around the trees in confusion. Was that someone speaking? Was someone nearby, where were they?
He shuffled around quietly, peeking over bushes until finally spotting a red wyngling in a small clearing. They were sitting with their back towards him, fiddling with something on their lap. Was.. that a stick? It looked like it was cut and shaved down to look more like... a sword. A practice sword then? They were practicing in the middle of the woods?
He watched as they unwrapped the dirtied bandages from one side of the practice sword, that must be the handle then, they put bandages to have a better grip. The ease in which they handled the sword, rewrapping it with new bandages, was quite impressive. It meant they have done this quite often, whether that's good or bad, the wyngling didn't really know. But it still meant they knew how to handle at weapon..

The gray wyngling took a deep breath, preparing himself for speaking with a stranger, and stepped through the bushes.
The red wyngling's ear twitched at the sound but they continued with their task, humming to themself. Right, he should say a greeting. Greeting, greeting...
"E-Excuse me?-"

The stranger.. yelped?

"O-Oh! I thought you were just an animal or a spite or something, I didn't know it was another kid!" She was half turned towards him, paws clutching a roll of bandages and the stick dropped in the grass in front of her. Not.. the reaction he was expecting. "Gosh, you shouldn't scare others like that! You're so silent!"
He frowned and looked away a bit sheepishly. How is this stranger both scolding him but being friendly, she still has a wide smile.
"I-I'm sorry, I thought you knew I was here.. No-Not that I've been here long! Um, I had heard you.. shouting?"

The wyngling, somehow, looked more happy.

"Oh did you? Haha, I was just doing some practice!" She picked up her practice sword, waving it a little in the air. Dangerously close to hitting her own head. "I practice... basically all the time! Got nothing else to do, and, well, how am I supposed to be the coolest sword fighter if I don't practice?"
'Coolest sword fighter'?... Was.. that an award of some sort? A position?
"Ah... So does that mean you're.. good at handling that sword?" He nodded to said object, watching her open her mouth to respond but suddenly getting a conflicted expression. She looked back down and smiled in embarrassment, picking at the bandage roll to find the start of it. A fidget.
"W-Well depends on your definition of good..!" She put emphasis on the last word and finally found the start of the roll, quickly wrapping one end of the stick. "I don't really have the whole, grace, of a sword fighter- Not that I can't learn! It's solely because of my small limbs!- But, um, I do have strength in the hits I do land! My hits are so strong that Alma told me I couldn't practice in the Nook anymore because I kept putting dents in stuff!" She beamed at this.
Well, besides him not knowing what a 'Nook' or 'Alma' is, this stranger sounded.. promising.

While apparently clumsy and quite rowdy, she seemed to have a talent for the sword. There's no doubt that with proper lessons and time, she'd grow to be strong and able to defend herself, maybe others. Not to mention she appears to wear her heart on her sleeve, easily admitting to not being that good at handling a sword despite her earlier confidence in being the best. She does not seem the type to keep secrets, and that may be the best choice for him at the moment. Someone honest and hardworking... yes, she is useful.

"May I ask something of you?"
The red wyngling looked up at him with a hum, the bandage in her mouth. Why?.. Not important. "Myah?" Came the muffled response.
Alright..

".. Could you help me? By protecting me during my stay here."

She spit out the bandage, eyes confused as she looked at him. She still had that friendly smile.
"Protecting? Why do you need protecting?"
He must've made a face because she just froze for a moment to stare at him. It was a heavy silence, as they stood across from each other in the clearing. Eventually he had to look away, there was simply too much in that blue gaze. He couldn't understand it.
"If you refuse then it's alright, I only ask you forget of this conversation and I'll leave you be-"

"Sure."

The gray wyngling stopped, leg half raised in the air, caught in the middle of turning away. He looked back at her in shock, eyes wide. All of the seriousness that she previously had on her face vanished, her expression lax and friendly once again. Is this airheaded attitude a facade or was just a strange, rare moment of thoughtfulness?

He didn't bother to voice this question it as he stepped closer, heart rising in what may be hope. "R-Really? You'll help me, just like that? I didn't even offer you anything in return.."

The mysterious wyngling smiled wide, giving him a look that implied he was the weird one in this conversation. That simply wasn't true, he was not the one denting furniture with a sword all day.

"Of course! You don't have to get something in return to help somebody! You seem pretty nice to be around anyways." She tilted her head to the side, eyes shining brightly. It felt.. like she understood him, when she looked at him like that. "I'm Moon!"
