Description
A 'meeting of worlds' commission for Rashan and Nikita. Sky, mountains and water all together.It's in cool colours, guys! See, I do use purple occasionally.
I find cooler palettes a little harder to work with so just because of that I'm going to do a bunch more blue things to figure out what my problem is. I love her little feet. I have so much trouble with hind feet all the time but hers turned out exactly as I wanted them to this time. It's probably a by-product of having been following my cats around with my sketchbook lately.

Tools: Photoshop CS4, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet
Music: I really enjoyed painting this to the sound of Bright Eyes.

My reasoning on the splash of the water was that he was moving with enough speed underneath to come up suddenly and push a lot of the water outwards ahead of him. I'm not sure if it would splash up quite as much as I've painted here though... but that was my thought line anyway. 
I painted the clouds in different directions to show they were on different altitudes but I'm not sure if I communicated it too well. Part of it was simply to lead the eye around too which may have taken precedence.

I have to say, of all the work you've done of me and Rashan, this is my absolute favorite, I was staring at if for forever (it feels liek anyway) when I saw it the first time, so amazing work, you really outdid yourself on this one! :3

Very stunning! The colors just sing in harmony. The water looks amazing, and the little droplets coming of the wings, perfect. I adore the translucent wing membrane as well.

There's only one thing I'm not sure of- If you made the blue dragon's wing transparent amd we can see the body through it, shouldn't we see at least the shape of the mountains through the wings aswell?

Hmm, there probably should be some hint of it, hey. I overlooked that when I ended up making his wing more transparent than it was originally. There should be an impression of the mountains there. Thank you!

This looks very nice, I like it very much.
The one thing I think is a bit faulty, is the white dragon's colour; around the head, it looks like it's fading out into the sky becausse of the colour. Maybe darkening the whole body altogether slightly might make it detach itself from the background a bit more.

I see what you mean, she could use a little more contrast. It's hard to get that balance of reflected colour with white dragons sometimes.

Thank you! I haven't actually seen my family yet since I wanted to work through Christmas for extra $$$. (Although seeing the family has both ups and downs anyway.

Bugger on the actual working through Christmas but a few extra dollars never hurt, hey. Mine was rather lovely, spent it with the family and baked my first gingerbread house, which amazingly remained upright.
