Description
CrystalphoenixBlader here, bringing in another chapter to the fanfic! The battle with Iggy is coming up, and you know how he’s the best with mechanics within the Koopalings despite his thinner stature. So this might end up a king sized problem for our heroes! So anyway, I do not own any of the Mario characters or the iDOLMASTER characters; the Mario characters belong to Nintendo and the iDOLMASTER characters belong to Namco Bandai. So, with all that aside, let’s energize back to the action!

Chapter 35
The Twin Megalegs’ Moon! Iggy’s Attack!
*Moo Moo Galaxy ~ Space Farmlands ~ Moo Moo Restaurant ~ Main Entrance*
*Insert Theme: “Kakariko Village” (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)*
Mario, as well as the rest of Team Mario and the remaining Idols of 765 Pro and 876 Pro stare at the large mechanical moon that somehow appeared at Moo Moo Galaxy. Of course Bovino and Bovina, as well as Asmund, Ian, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter can’t avert their gaze. There were two identical mechs in the distance, their assembly quick like lightning and placed in position.
“Wow... so this Iggy creep is up there? But how do we get to that moon?” Haruka wondered.
“That’s... a good question, Haruka. With the lack of Lumas, I doubt we’re easily just going to fly there...” Ritsuko frowned, but then Lubba appeared before the group with a smiling face, holding a bunch of crimson red stars. Mario quickly recognized the stars on Lubba’s hands with a shocked expression on his face. “Captain Mario! Captain Luigi! The Red Luma back at the Observatory asked me to deliver these to you! He’d usually like to test the girls first though to see if any of them can find his Red Power Star, but with the situation completely out of hand, he said it’d be better if they figured out how the Red Stars on their own!”
Haruka gazed at the Red Star quietly, then, without thinking, touched the red celestial body. Chihaya, alert of what her friend is doing, cried out, “No, Haruka-chan, DON’T!” But before the songstress could say more, the effect of the Red Star altered her uniform to be a vivid black color with beautiful red stripes.

“Wow... I don’t feel much different..” Haruka gazed all over herself and saw what she thought to be little improvement. Of course, remember his test with the Red Luma, Mario quickly responded to the cheerful Idol, ”Try-a going into a spin-a!”
“Umm... okay...” Haruka was uncertain of what the red plumber said, but as she decided to do a single spin, she found herself lifted off into the skies with two trails of red light emanating from her hands! “Wha..NO WAY!! I’M FLYING!!!” Haruka exclaimed happily, drawing stares from all the other Idols.
“What?! How is that possible?!” Ritsuko rubbed her eyes and wanted to see if her glasses got fogged somehow. Ami and Mami looked in awe at their fellow Idol. “Sugooi, Haruyan’s flying!!!” Ami happily spoke in awe, while Mami looked at Lubba, “Hey, Lubba-chan, do you think Ami and I can fly, too?”
Lubba happily laughed and responded, “Of course! In fact, I’ve brought enough Red Stars for everyone!”
One by one, all members of both Team Mario and 765 Pro (876 Pro included) each picked up a Red Star, and, one by one, began to experience the miraculous effects as everyone, even the Producer, ended up in the air! Iori, her outfit now bearing a vivid black color with pink stripes, looked at Wario, now bearing a black shirt and yellow overalls, and frowned. “What is that tub of lard doing?”
“Hahaha.. Whoever said fat guys can’t fly obviously doesn’t know what they’re missing!” Wario laughed as he performed a backstroke in midair. Waluigi, his clothing colors reversed to having a long black shirt and dark purple overalls, happily decided to show his skills as a swimmer by performing frontward breast strokes in midair. Overall, the lovable duo rivals did not seem to impress Iori at all. “What a pair of hams...”
“Hey, Iori-chan!” Yayoi floated by, her uniform also a vivid black color, but with bright orange stripes, happily passing by.
“Ya..Yayoi...” Iori sweatdropped quietly, unsure how to react.
Bovino then stepped in, “Okay everyone, I have a way help you all make use of those Stars. Just stand on the circular pad there!” The male manager of the restaurant asked as he pointed to a large circular pad, to which everyone in the party, including Benjamin, stood. Bovina then pulled out a small device out of the pocket of her apron and pressed the red button. A very large cannon appeared from within the pad and engulfed every member of Team Mario and the Idols.
“What da?!” Flying Mario shouted out from within the cannon. The rest of the group didn’t fare better.
(Waluigi) “HEY!! Who stepped on my foot?!”
(Wario) “OW! Make space, will ya?!”
(Iori) “Ow! Quit pushing!”
(Yukiho) “P..Producer-san?”
(Luigi) “Ma..ma..Mario?”
(Peach) “This is certainly uncomfortable..”
(Ritsuko) “Couldn’t have said it any better...hey! Watch the glasses!”
(Ami and Mami) “Oh boy!!”
(Yoshi) “Ouch! Okay, somebody stepped on my foot!”
(Benjamin) “This is... well.. tight..”
Before any more griping could continue inside the cannon, Asmund and Ian checked on the cannon’s current condition.
“All systems are green boss! Looks to me like they’re going to make it to that mechanical moon just fine!” Asmund looked at the two managers with a satisfactory thumbs up!
“Yep, we’ll fire at your command, boss!” Ian smiled, as his finger was greatly itching the press the fire button.
“Good luck out there!” Spring called out to the group, with Summer, Autumn, and Winter cheering on!
Bovino then gave the order to his butlers, “You may fire then cannon now!”, to which the eager butler punched the button, firing the large cannon and sending the group towards the mechanical moon at breakneck speeds!
*KABOOOOM!!!*

*Over Moo Moo Galaxy*
*Insert Theme: “Gusty Garden Galaxy” (Super Mario Galaxy) (Yep... you knew this masterpiece was coming, didn’t you?)
All of Team Mario and the Idols were flying through both the force of the cannon that launched them and the effects of the Red Stars Along the way, they encountered plenty of crystals along the way, with trapped Lumas and Star bits encased inside.
“Hey-a folks! Why not-a make a little game out of dis! We can-a collect some more Star Bits and-a save-a da Lumas at da sane time!” Mario brightened up, to which the rest of the group seemed eager to do.
“Sounds fun, Mario-san. I might take you up on that offer!” Takane smiled as she flew straight into a crystal, breaking it apart and freeing a Luma that was trapped inside. The chosen contestants (Takane Mami, Azusa, Ayane, Yoshi, Wario, Boo, and Hammer Bro) were decided to take the lead grabbing as much Star Bits as possible and freeing as many Lumas before the rest of the group in the rear line formation took care of the rest. Yukiho managed to catch a Pink Luma that Mami freed through collision course on one of the crystals by extending her Diamond Shovel, to which the creature cooed upon her catch. Mami then teamed up with Ami to drill through another crystal, freeing a bunch of Star bits as they spiral around the twins. Yumeko sped through a few crystals, but the shards continuously bopped Luigi in the face. “Ow! Ow! OW!!! Hey, watch it!!!” “Oops!” Yumeko smirked, but then Waluigi appeared by her left side and laughed happily. “Wahaha! I think I like you already, Yumeko!!” The skinny long limbed rival laughed happily, which unnerved her, but then, out of a sick chance, a small asteroid whacked Waluigi in the head and he lost momentum. “OW!! Huh... hey! Wait for me!!!”

*Moo Moo Galaxy ~ Twin Megalegs’ Moon*
*Insert Theme: “Tension” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
The entire group safely landed on the mechanical moon, and, just as luck would have it, the effect of the Red Stars wore off. Mario and Luigi, as well as Ritsuko and Producer-san, slowly took the lead to investigate their surroundings, After a few steps, though, an alarm blared out as Iggy Koopa, onboard as mechanized version of Bowser’s Koopa Klown Kar hovered over the group (Imagine the Egg Mobile used by Eggman in the Sonic series and you will pretty much get an idea of what this Koopa Klown Kar looks and feels like.)
“Well, well, well! If it isn’t Mario and his little Idol friends! I’d like toplay too, so how about a brand new Megaleg... times two! Hahaha... *koff* *koff~” Iggy laughed before coughing a bit and pulling out an inhaler. Afterwards, the wild haired Koopaling pressed a button on the console of his Koopa Klown Kar and two platforms on the moon opened up, with the alarms blaring loudly.

*Insert Theme: “Megaleg” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
From out of the two platfroms, two large mechanical monstrosities appear, both having a largeface similar to an enemy called a Snifit, three extremely large legs able to stand on position on the large mechanical moon, (The moon where the first Megaleg was encountered was small yet supported the legs.) multiple Bullet Bill and Cry-STILL Bill Blasters, On the top of both the Megalegs was a red cage with a rotating lighthouse-like on top that contains a strange new power core, one of which seemed to glow ominously, the other pretty dim, with two new cockpit hatches for the Koopa Klown Kar to come in and insert itself. To make things worse, Iggy decide to make a clone of himself by using the magic wand he stashed away to pilot the other Megaleg, intent on giving double the trouble!
“Mama mia!! Two of dese things?” Mario frowned.
“Well, at least da moon is big enough for-a dis...” Luigi shrugged, recalling the small moon that held the first Megaleg that he and his older twin brother encountered before.
“Hehehehe! If it’s the destruction of my Megalegs that you all desire, go and pout, ‘cause thanks to help from Lemmy and Junior, it can’t even be hurt by fire!” Iggy smirked in a mocking rhyme. His clone then followed suit. “Go and try to pick which one of us is the REAL one! For us, your frustration will be tons of fun!”
“Ugh... his rhymes are giving me a headache...” Chihaya rubbed her forehead, while Haruka just frowned, for once losing the words she was about to say.
“Took the words out of my mouth, Chihaya...” Ritsuko tilted her head in disdain.
“Ugh... ditto on what ya said, Glasses...” Wario decided to distract himself from the bad rhyme by picking his nose.
“You know Iggy-san... I don’t know if rhymes suit you...” Miki questioned. The bad reviews made Iggy and his clone frown.
“Geez, everybody’s a critic! Well, how about a nice explosive conversation with the Bullet Bills and our brand new Cry-STILL Bills!” Iggy blurted out, which grabbed the attention of Luigi, Yukiho, andRyou.
“Ca..Crystal Bill?” Ryou started to glare at Iggy.
*End Theme with record Scratch Sound*
“Hehe, so you wanna know before I encase you, huh? I can pretty much oblige! Oh, and by the way, it’s ‘Cry-STILL’, not ‘Crystal’.” Lemmy smirked, then adjusted his glasses as he began his lengthy explanation.
*Insert Theme:"Bowser's Castle" (New Super Mario Bros.) (Fortune Street) Version)*
“King Dad.. er... King Bowser's troops just found a simple crystal containing Star Bits, the favorite food of the Lumas, during one of his 2 conquests to conquer the Mushroom Universe and showed off a spell they created by capturing a Toad. Afterwards, the Magikoopas, as well as us Koopalings, learned this spell quite well in effort and demonstrations were superb! Wendy loved it most of all. *Wheeze* But then I had this IDEA... What if we used this spell to make a new species of Bullet Bill for our army? I told King Bowser about this and he told me to give it a try. After some testing, I created a way to make the new Bullet Bill I dubbed, ‘The Crystill Bill.’ *Wheeze* And ‘Crystill’ is a portmanteau or word combination of crystal and the word, "still," meaning ‘motionless’ or ‘animately suspended.’ *Wheeze* Hoo hahahahaha... Pretty clever, huh?”

Iggy finished his long explanation, only to realize that everyone, with the exception of Ritsuko and Benjamin, decided to take a short little snooze cruise!
*Insert Sound Effects: “Cartoon Sleep Snore”, then “Sad Trombone ~ Fail Sound”*
Iggy noticed that not just Miki, but most of the group was asleep from how boring the lesson on the Crystill Bills was to them, front gentle snores to even visible snot bubbles from Mario, Yoshi, and Wario!
“HEY!! DON’T FALL ASLEEP WHILE I’M TALKING!!!” Iggy yelled in a comical temper tantrum, from a throbbing vein to even stem popping out from... where his ears would be... but then noticed Ritsuko still clearly much awake. “Well, at least You’re still awake... how about YOU get first dibs!!” Iggy smirked before firing a few Crystill Bills at the intelligent Idol.
*Resume Theme: "Megaleg" (Super Mario Galaxy)*
“Whoa!” Ritsuko panicked before frantically dodging the Crystill Bills. Waluigi woke up with a satisfied yawn and stretched his long arms, “Ahh... I needed that!” But maybe he should have snoozed some more, as the Crystill Bill hit him point blank, encasing the lanky miscreant in crystal, complete with a stupid pose!
“Ohmy gosh, if I don’t do something, everyone’s going to end up sitting ducks!” Ritsuko frowned before pulling a megaphone and shouting out loud, “WAKE UP!!!”
“Whoa, mamma mia! I’m-a awake! I’m-a awake! Mario slipped to the side, with his snot bubble popped.
“Whoa, I’m up! I’m up!” Miki was startled. The rest of the group felt a little dazed from the premature wake up call, but nobody had time to take a nap, as the two Iggys prepared a wave of Bullet Bills heading straight for the group. Miki narrowly dodged one of the Bullet bills as it detonated, but in the process...
“AHHH!!! MY HAIR!!! THAT TURTLE’S GONNA PAY FOR THAT!!” Miki angrily pouted seeing her hair damaged from the attack, as she ran on one of the legs of the Megaleg Y, as it is called due to the color scheme, dodging the Bullet Bills and Crystill bills in a fit till she made it to the top.
“Well, blondie, you’re pretty quick and gutsy to make it up here without problems!” Iggy snorted with a snarky grin.
“I’ll make you pay for what you did to my hair!” Miki glared, but as she readied herself, Takane place her hand on her friend’s shoulder. “Miki, let us help. I do not think we will easily rest until we have Makoto back with us.”
Miki looked at the eyes of the Silver Queen, and with Hammer Bro, Boo, and Azusa along nodding in approval, Miki gave a confident grin and faced at the cockpit.
“Heh, try what you want, your attacks won’t work on the glass here!” Iggy smiled as he fired a bunch of homing Bullet Bills.
“Look out!!” Azusa yelled as she took cover by the cage. Hammer Bro, suddenly getting a brainstorm, looked at the Bullet Bill’s eyes and taunted, “Come and get me, bill brain!!” Enraged at the taunt, the Bullet Bill chased the hammer wielding Koopa until he came close to Iggy’s cockpit. Seizing its chance to blow Hammer Bro to bits, the bullet shaped minion charged at the Koopa, only to be startled when Hammer Bro leapfrogged over it and knocked it toward the cockpit!
“What the?!” Iggy’s jaw dropped. “In your face, Iggy!!” Hammer Bro grinned as his teeth showed a pearly shine. Takane, Boo, Azusa, and Miki followed suit to lure the Bullet Bills toward the cockpit. But when the last Bullet Bill hit, the cockpit was launched away, only to notice that “Iggy” was knocked away towards the Comet Observatory.
“Uno momento... there’s-a no explosion...” Mario noted as the Megaleg Y simply stopped moving.
“You’r-ae right Bro. I wonder whatta happened..” Luigi scratched his head in confusion.
“HAHA! Dumbskulls! That ‘Iggy’ is the fake! I'm right over here!” The REAL Iggy, onboard the Megaleg X, laughed. “But I think it's time to take this up a notch... BANZAI BILL TIME!!!” The Koopaling then pressed a button which readied a large Bill Blaster which fired Banzai Bills, larger variants of Bullet Bills with shark like smiles that were even harder to dodge simply due to its size.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Never Let Up!” (Mario & Luigi: Dream Team)*
A single Banzai Bill fired out of the blaster at a roaring speed. Mami, Yoshi, and Ayane quickly ducked out of the way, but Wario stubbornly stood his ground as he grabbed hold of the Banzai Bill upon impact.
“Urghh... hey Trouble Twin!! Grab the Bull Pot from my pocket!” Wario growled to Mami as he tried to holding the Banzai Bill in place while the Bullet Bills come in.
“What?” Mami stood dumbfounded at what the obese rival of Wario was suggesting.
“WHAT?! You have too much wax in your ears?! Just do it!” Wario snarled, but then a single Bullet Bill homed on the two. Just as it was about to hit them, Yoshi used his long tongue to grab the Bill and throw it back. Ayane then got onboard the green dinosaur as the two braced themselves. “Don’t worry! Yoshi and I can deal with those bullets! You just help Mr. Wario out!” Ayane called out as the Lolita and dino readied themselves for the second wave of Bullet Bills and Crystill Bills.
Seeing no other way, Mami reached inside Wario’s back pocket and found the pot with bull horns and placed it in Wario’s left hand.
“Hehe.. good move! Now I’ll knock this oversized bullet back to its sender!” Wario smiled as he became Bull Wario once more. The now empowered rival used his astonishing strength to knock the Banzai Bill backwards, destroying a few Bill Blasters that fired Bullet Bills and Crystill Bills in its wake.
“Aw no!! Should have known that the chubby lout would do that!!” Iggy growled before reaching for the controls, “Now I’ll fire my.... ah.. OH NO!!! I FORGOT TO ADD KING BILL BLASTERS TO THIS HEAP!!!”
The Banzai Bill narrowly misses the cannon that fired it and makes a beeline for the cockpit! Even the glass can not withstand it oversized bullet’s blast radius. Wario noticed what was going to happen next as he pulled out a pot with rabbit ears, the Jet Pot, out of his pocket and change to Jet Wario. Now’s not the time to dawdle now! Let’s just say this heap is going to blow!!” Wario cried out as he grabbed Mami’s arm and used the jet on his Jet cap to dash forward. Knowing what Wario was intending to do, Yoshi turned to Ayane, “You might want to hang on tight!!”, as it pulled out a Dash Pepper and ate it. The dinosaur’s body began to glow a fiery orange color as it began to dash away at breakneck speed to catch up with Wario. Back on the cockpit, the Banzai Bill made contact with the glass and exploded, also cooking Iggy in the process.
“Ow.. that’s really gonna leave a..” The wild haired Koopaling groaned, but then noticed the controls short-circuit dangerously, “Now who saw THIS coming? I won't forget this!” But then a light from the Megaleg surrounds Iggy in a alrming way, making the Koopaling nervous. “Oh oh, this ain't gonna go well...” Afterwards the cockpit dramatically explodes, sending the Koopling to the stars, “AVENGE ME, LEMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!”
*Ding!*
*End Theme*
The entire group sighed a breath of relief after their harrowing battle. ‘Wow, da Koopalings are-a really stepping up dere game! But we still have-a no clue where da Center of da Universe is!”” Mario sighed. Just then, Luigi caught sight of something in the air and high-jumps to get it. “I got it!”
Takane, looking a little curious to what the green plumber nabbed, took a look. “Oh, is that a carrying case?”
Looking at Iggy’s name on the case, Luigi agreed, “It-a seems like-a Iggy dropped this.”
Mario smiled, feeling that the case might be the very clue th entire group needed since the whole incident happened. “Hey, dis-a looks-a like da clue we've-a been-a searching for! Thank-a you very much, Bro!” Luigi happily blushed and rubbed the back of his head, “Oh hohoho... It was-a nothin', Big Bro.”
*Insert Theme:
But before anyone can celebrate, mechanical noises echo the air, coming from the damaged Megaleg Iggy was formerly on.
“That thing is still moving?!” Producer-san shouted, but before he could say more, the Megaleg, struggling to move, collapses to the ground from the explosions that began to occur within the hull! After it fell completely to the ground, the Megaleg explodes with an immense fiery explosion, away from the group. However, the danger was not over...
*Insert Sound Effect: “Loud Alarm”*
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Escape!” (Metroid)*
“WARNING!! DAMAGE TO THE BASE IS IRREVERSIBLE!! FIVE MINUTES TO SELF DESTRUCT!!”
All of Team Mario and the Idols were greatly alarmed at the announcement from within the hull of the mechanical moon echoed, as the damage from the Megaleg’s explosion severely damaged vital infrastructures from within that power the core. Benjamin, alert as ever teleported to the group, pulled out multiple Red Stars, and shouted in a loud voice, “EVERYONE OFF! THIS PLACE HAS A FEW MINUTEs TO SELF-DESTRUCT! LET'S GO! GET OUTTA' HERE!!!" With that, he teleported away in an instant! Mario, quickly responding to this danger, quickly handed the Red Stars to the rest of the group, “C’mon everybody! We havta go!!!” And with that, Mario, influenced by the Red Star’s effect leapt into the stars and flew off, heading directly for the Comet Observatory.
“Whoa, time to, like, SCRAM!!!” Hammer Bro, now bearing a black and red shell from the Red Star’s effects, stashed his hammer away and followed. The Idols, too, waste no time leaping into the air and flying off. Fortunately for the party, there were no obstacles or any of Bowser’s minions in the way as the flight back to the observatory was a clean one.
*Rosalina’s Comet Observatory ~ Main Deck*
By the time the group made it back to the Observatory, taking the Lumas they found along, the countdown was at its final marks...
“5....4.....3...2...1....ZERO. SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE ACTIVATED! GOOD BYE.”
*KABOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!*

The mechanical moon was utterly destroyed in a cataclysmic Death Star-like explosion. Fortunately, Moo Moo Galaxy and the Comet Observatory were too far off from the blast radius, leaving everone present to sigh a breath of relief.
“Ughh... that was traumatizing!” Producer-san gasped as he tried to catch his breath.
“Is everyone alright? Clearly, I do NOT think an explosion of THAT magnitude is supposed to be part of the experience..” Rosalina went to comfort the group who seemed very shaken but lucky to still be alive.
“I-a think so... mama mia, dat was-a hair raisng...” Mario sighed, but then remembered the case Luigi procured and turned to his brother. “Hey-a Luigi, you-a still have da case?”
“Luigi checked his possessions and pulled out the mentioned item. “Yep, I still-a got it!”
*Insert Theme: “Underground” (Super Mario Bros.)*
Benjamin then took a calculative look and the safe lock on the case and figured out the combination of the lock. "I can see it... the lock's combination numbers are... 0, 0, 2, 15, 23, 19, 5, 18, 0, 0."
“Oh, dat's amazing! Thank-a you, Benjamin!” Mario smiled as he readied himself to open the lock using the combination.
The interdimension being in the form of a heterochromatic Luma smiled and shrugged, “T'was nothin'... When you're a travere and adventurous Omnidimensional being, gaining and learning new powers and abilities is the best part of the fun! Like seeing passwords and codes."
“Yeah, dat’s-a true.” Mario smiled as he worked quietly on the combination until he managed to undo the lock, “Oh yeah! I got it!” Without hesitation the red plumber hero opened the case.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Huh?” (Final Fantasy 5)*
Hibiki looked at the contents of the case over Mario’s shoulder... and responded with a blank stare, “... It's just a bunch of papers and... a greyish... indigo... crystal thing.”
Ritsuko went to Mario and Hibiki and could only sweat a single drop. “Why would that geeky turtle lock away those things in there...?”
Benjamin picked up the papers and the strange crystal and turned his gaze to ritsuko’s bespectacled brown eyes. “Now, Ritsuko... remember, Iggy's a scientific and enginuitive genius. You saw how he made those two Megalegs earlier by himself. Besides, these are Research Documents... But this crystal... I feel a familiar power emanating from it. Rosalina, Polari and I will check out these clues. Please, wait here until either I or Polari have summoned you." And with that, Benjamin took the papers and the crystal along to bring to Polari and Rosalina for further analysis.
“Okey dokey!” The Mario Bros. respond in agreement. Benjamin quietly looked back at the heroic siblings and sighed before leaving. “Sometimes, I never get tired of hearing that from them."
*Insert Theme: “The Vaike never forgets! I just don't always remember" (Fire Emblem: Awakening)*
A small bit of time has passed, and while some of the participants continued their turns,Daisy and Producer-san were watching Ami and Mami, as well as the two mischievous Lumas they rescued poke an the unconscious Iggy clone. It wouldn’t be long until Yukiho, who is holding the Pink Luma she saved, Ryou, Toad, who just arrived from the castle to check on things, Wario and Waluigi come over.
“What are those two doing?” Toad asked in bewilderment.
Producer-san took the time to answer the question, “Making trouble with the Iggy dummy... with some new friends...” Toad was quiet as he looked at the two Lumas performing a trick on the Iggy clone and the Futami twins laughing as a result.
Wario decided to take a closer look at the Iggy clone, simply out of suspicious curiousity, “The fake? Looks too good to be a mechanical doll, maybe an illusion or a copy.”
“Speaking of new friends... She seems to taken a shine to me.” Yukiho gently smiled at the Pink Luma she is holding in her arms, who cooed happily at the gentle bob haired Idol.
“I'm impressed, these little cuties are taking a liking to you idols ever since you saved them. Even though you're not participating in this event, some of you befriended a good number of them, even singed and danced for them.” Daisy smiled at Yukiho as she petted the Pink Luma on the head.
While the chatting continued, the yellow Lumas are thrown off by a puff of smoke into the twins, revealing the fake Iggy to be his Chain Chomp, now currently seeing stars.
“Hey, Mami... What is that?” Ami asked while holding her Luma, who stared in curiousity.
Mami recognized the creature, “It looks like one of those large black sharp-toothed barkers that chased us on our ride to the restruant, Ami. Only smaller..” But then Mami realized something as she looked at Yukiho, then at the Chain Chomp, who is regaining consciousness. “Uh ohhhh...” The twin could only respond in an awkward tone.
The Chain Chomp gets itself back up with a loud thud, getting everyone’s attention.
“What happened to the dummy?! And what is THAT?!” Producer-sna, startled by the thud, looked at the creature. Toad immediately recognized the creature with a harsh chill up his spine. “IT'S A CHAIN CHOMP! IT'S GOTTA BE IGGY'S!!!”

The Chain Chomp stares at Yukiho and begins to pant happily like a dog to its master. Yukiho, however... lost all color as she began to realize that familiar behavior...that which is a complete nightmare for her...
*Insert Theme: “Prince Bowser’s Theme” (Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time)*
“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!” That was all everyone could hear of Yukiho before she ran out of sight, with the Chain Chomp bouncing after her with hearts in its eyes.
“Wh- What's gotten into her?!” Daisy stood dumbstruck, her crown nearly knocked off her head.
Producer-san quietly cowered behind the Sarasa Kingdom princess, “Y... Yukiho's... g-got a b-big case of... Cynophobia... M-Mine's... n-not that bad as hers... I-I-I didn't know THOSE were d-d-dogs...”
“Uhh, they are, Stupid.” Wario deadpanned, staring at the frightened Producer with an unimpressed stare.
“...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!” Yukiho reappeared as she turned around the corner, crying her eyes out, as the iron clad canine still pursued her. Within moments, she was out of sight again.
“That's... some fear of dogs...” Daisy sweated a bit, finding a loss for more words.
“It’s like she's attracting them to her like honey bees...” Toad nodded in agreement, aslo at a loss for words.
Mario and Luigi were wondering what the noise was all about, until they saw a small glimpse of the poor Idol running frantically away and the Chain Chomp that pursued her.
“Hey-a Bro, was..was-a dat Yukiho??” Luigi asked in shock, his green hat knocked in a nangle.
“Yeah, I think-a dat- was-a her... And-a by da look of things, she-a seems terrified..” Mario answered.
Luigi, after getting his hat in place, decided, “I’ll-a go and see if I can help her.” Luigi responded then ran off in the direction of the ruckus.
Waluigi was busy reading a book called “Devious Plotting for Dummies” when the ruckus began, and the noise began to annoy the lanky miscreant enough that he shut the book and threw it to the floor. He saw Luigi and Mario try to grab hold of the Chain Chomp’s chain. Irate at the commotion, Waluigi trips Yukiho with his right leg, then using the same leg launched a powerful kick that sent the canine airborne! The iron clad yelped before it disappeared within the sea of stars.

Yukiho stared quietly at Waluigi before he huffed, “Trust me, I didn't do that for you.” And with that, he returned to reading his book in peace.
“Yukiho, are you-a okay??” Luigi ran to the tired Idol.
“Ye..Yes, I’m okay now... Waluigi saved me...” Yukiho sighed before Luigi helped her back up.
“Waluigi?? That-a dolt?” Luigi suspiciously stared at Waluigi who continued to read his book without a word. Before the green plumber could confirm his suspicions, Polari appeared to the brothers, looking a little shaken.
*Insert Theme:
“Polari, what dis it? Why are-a you so tense...?” Mario asked the worn out Luma.
“Yes. Lady Rosalina requests everyone to see her and Benjamin. Now.” Polari answered, which gave the brothers and Yukiho a reason to worry.

Whoa.. talk about a LONG chapter...anyway, what has Polari, Benjamin, and Benjamin discovered in the papers and crystal that has gotten the Luma to get tensed up? Could it have anything to do with what Bowser is plotting? Yep, a cliffhanger, folks! Perhaps the next chapter will yield answers!
Again, great help from HairyBlob2 of DeviantArt . This arc’s gonna be a long one, but this was ANOTHER mini boss fight! The arc’s battle has not come close yet! Plus, I missed the Red Stars from the first Super Mario Galaxy. They were easier to control than the Wing Cap from Super Mario 64, but they were not abundant. Also, an escape? I didn’t expect a Metroid element of fleeing before the place blows up In here! But then again as I said before, what IS to expect?

CrystalphoenixBlader here, bringing in another chapter to the fanfic! The battle with Iggy is coming up, and you know how he’s the best with mechanics within the Koopalings despite his thinner stature. So this might end up a king sized problem for our heroes! So anyway, I do not own any of the Mario characters or the iDOLMASTER characters; the Mario characters belong to Nintendo and the iDOLMASTER characters belong to Namco Bandai. So, with all that aside, let’s energize back to the action!

The Twin Megalegs’ Moon! Iggy’s Attack!
*Moo Moo Galaxy ~ Space Farmlands ~ Moo Moo Restaurant ~ Main Entrance*
*Insert Theme: “Kakariko Village” (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)*
Mario, as well as the rest of Team Mario and the remaining Idols of 765 Pro and 876 Pro stare at the large mechanical moon that somehow appeared at Moo Moo Galaxy. Of course Bovino and Bovina, as well as Asmund, Ian, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter can’t avert their gaze. There were two identical mechs in the distance, their assembly quick like lightning and placed in position.
“Wow... so this Iggy creep is up there? But how do we get to that moon?” Haruka wondered.
“That’s... a good question, Haruka. With the lack of Lumas, I doubt we’re easily just going to fly there...” Ritsuko frowned, but then Lubba appeared before the group with a smiling face, holding a bunch of crimson red stars. Mario quickly recognized the stars on Lubba’s hands with a shocked expression on his face. “Captain Mario! Captain Luigi! The Red Luma back at the Observatory asked me to deliver these to you! He’d usually like to test the girls first though to see if any of them can find his Red Power Star, but with the situation completely out of hand, he said it’d be better if they figured out how the Red Stars on their own!”
Haruka gazed at the Red Star quietly, then, without thinking, touched the red celestial body. Chihaya, alert of what her friend is doing, cried out, “No, Haruka-chan, DON’T!” But before the songstress could say more, the effect of the Red Star altered her uniform to be a vivid black color with beautiful red stripes.

“Wow... I don’t feel much different..” Haruka gazed all over herself and saw what she thought to be little improvement. Of course, remember his test with the Red Luma, Mario quickly responded to the cheerful Idol, ”Try-a going into a spin-a!”
“Umm... okay...” Haruka was uncertain of what the red plumber said, but as she decided to do a single spin, she found herself lifted off into the skies with two trails of red light emanating from her hands! “Wha..NO WAY!! I’M FLYING!!!” Haruka exclaimed happily, drawing stares from all the other Idols.
“What?! How is that possible?!” Ritsuko rubbed her eyes and wanted to see if her glasses got fogged somehow. Ami and Mami looked in awe at their fellow Idol. “Sugooi, Haruyan’s flying!!!” Ami happily spoke in awe, while Mami looked at Lubba, “Hey, Lubba-chan, do you think Ami and I can fly, too?”
Lubba happily laughed and responded, “Of course! In fact, I’ve brought enough Red Stars for everyone!”
One by one, all members of both Team Mario and 765 Pro (876 Pro included) each picked up a Red Star, and, one by one, began to experience the miraculous effects as everyone, even the Producer, ended up in the air! Iori, her outfit now bearing a vivid black color with pink stripes, looked at Wario, now bearing a black shirt and yellow overalls, and frowned. “What is that tub of lard doing?”
“Hahaha.. Whoever said fat guys can’t fly obviously doesn’t know what they’re missing!” Wario laughed as he performed a backstroke in midair. Waluigi, his clothing colors reversed to having a long black shirt and dark purple overalls, happily decided to show his skills as a swimmer by performing frontward breast strokes in midair. Overall, the lovable duo rivals did not seem to impress Iori at all. “What a pair of hams...”
“Hey, Iori-chan!” Yayoi floated by, her uniform also a vivid black color, but with bright orange stripes, happily passing by.
“Ya..Yayoi...” Iori sweatdropped quietly, unsure how to react.
Bovino then stepped in, “Okay everyone, I have a way help you all make use of those Stars. Just stand on the circular pad there!” The male manager of the restaurant asked as he pointed to a large circular pad, to which everyone in the party, including Benjamin, stood. Bovina then pulled out a small device out of the pocket of her apron and pressed the red button. A very large cannon appeared from within the pad and engulfed every member of Team Mario and the Idols.
“What da?!” Flying Mario shouted out from within the cannon. The rest of the group didn’t fare better.
(Waluigi) “HEY!! Who stepped on my foot?!”
(Wario) “OW! Make space, will ya?!”
(Iori) “Ow! Quit pushing!”
(Yukiho) “P..Producer-san?”
(Luigi) “Ma..ma..Mario?”
(Peach) “This is certainly uncomfortable..”
(Ritsuko) “Couldn’t have said it any better...hey! Watch the glasses!”
(Ami and Mami) “Oh boy!!”
(Yoshi) “Ouch! Okay, somebody stepped on my foot!”
(Benjamin) “This is... well.. tight..”
Before any more griping could continue inside the cannon, Asmund and Ian checked on the cannon’s current condition.
“All systems are green boss! Looks to me like they’re going to make it to that mechanical moon just fine!” Asmund looked at the two managers with a satisfactory thumbs up!
“Yep, we’ll fire at your command, boss!” Ian smiled, as his finger was greatly itching the press the fire button.
“Good luck out there!” Spring called out to the group, with Summer, Autumn, and Winter cheering on!
Bovino then gave the order to his butlers, “You may fire then cannon now!”, to which the eager butler punched the button, firing the large cannon and sending the group towards the mechanical moon at breakneck speeds!

*Insert Theme: “Gusty Garden Galaxy” (Super Mario Galaxy) (Yep... you knew this masterpiece was coming, didn’t you?)
All of Team Mario and the Idols were flying through both the force of the cannon that launched them and the effects of the Red Stars Along the way, they encountered plenty of crystals along the way, with trapped Lumas and Star bits encased inside.
“Hey-a folks! Why not-a make a little game out of dis! We can-a collect some more Star Bits and-a save-a da Lumas at da sane time!” Mario brightened up, to which the rest of the group seemed eager to do.
“Sounds fun, Mario-san. I might take you up on that offer!” Takane smiled as she flew straight into a crystal, breaking it apart and freeing a Luma that was trapped inside. The chosen contestants (Takane Mami, Azusa, Ayane, Yoshi, Wario, Boo, and Hammer Bro) were decided to take the lead grabbing as much Star Bits as possible and freeing as many Lumas before the rest of the group in the rear line formation took care of the rest. Yukiho managed to catch a Pink Luma that Mami freed through collision course on one of the crystals by extending her Diamond Shovel, to which the creature cooed upon her catch. Mami then teamed up with Ami to drill through another crystal, freeing a bunch of Star bits as they spiral around the twins. Yumeko sped through a few crystals, but the shards continuously bopped Luigi in the face. “Ow! Ow! OW!!! Hey, watch it!!!” “Oops!” Yumeko smirked, but then Waluigi appeared by her left side and laughed happily. “Wahaha! I think I like you already, Yumeko!!” The skinny long limbed rival laughed happily, which unnerved her, but then, out of a sick chance, a small asteroid whacked Waluigi in the head and he lost momentum. “OW!! Huh... hey! Wait for me!!!”

*Moo Moo Galaxy ~ Twin Megalegs’ Moon*
*Insert Theme: “Tension” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
The entire group safely landed on the mechanical moon, and, just as luck would have it, the effect of the Red Stars wore off. Mario and Luigi, as well as Ritsuko and Producer-san, slowly took the lead to investigate their surroundings, After a few steps, though, an alarm blared out as Iggy Koopa, onboard as mechanized version of Bowser’s Koopa Klown Kar hovered over the group (Imagine the Egg Mobile used by Eggman in the Sonic series and you will pretty much get an idea of what this Koopa Klown Kar looks and feels like.)
“Well, well, well! If it isn’t Mario and his little Idol friends! I’d like toplay too, so how about a brand new Megaleg... times two! Hahaha... *koff* *koff~” Iggy laughed before coughing a bit and pulling out an inhaler. Afterwards, the wild haired Koopaling pressed a button on the console of his Koopa Klown Kar and two platforms on the moon opened up, with the alarms blaring loudly.

*Insert Sound Effect: “Modern Alarm Blare”*
*Insert Theme: “Megaleg” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
From out of the two platfroms, two large mechanical monstrosities appear, both having a largeface similar to an enemy called a Snifit, three extremely large legs able to stand on position on the large mechanical moon, (The moon where the first Megaleg was encountered was small yet supported the legs.) multiple Bullet Bill and Cry-STILL Bill Blasters, On the top of both the Megalegs was a red cage with a rotating lighthouse-like on top that contains a strange new power core, one of which seemed to glow ominously, the other pretty dim, with two new cockpit hatches for the Koopa Klown Kar to come in and insert itself. To make things worse, Iggy decide to make a clone of himself by using the magic wand he stashed away to pilot the other Megaleg, intent on giving double the trouble!
“Mama mia!! Two of dese things?” Mario frowned.
“Well, at least da moon is big enough for-a dis...” Luigi shrugged, recalling the small moon that held the first Megaleg that he and his older twin brother encountered before.
“Hehehehe! If it’s the destruction of my Megalegs that you all desire, go and pout, ‘cause thanks to help from Lemmy and Junior, it can’t even be hurt by fire!” Iggy smirked in a mocking rhyme. His clone then followed suit. “Go and try to pick which one of us is the REAL one! For us, your frustration will be tons of fun!”
“Ugh... his rhymes are giving me a headache...” Chihaya rubbed her forehead, while Haruka just frowned, for once losing the words she was about to say.
“Took the words out of my mouth, Chihaya...” Ritsuko tilted her head in disdain.
“Ugh... ditto on what ya said, Glasses...” Wario decided to distract himself from the bad rhyme by picking his nose.
“You know Iggy-san... I don’t know if rhymes suit you...” Miki questioned. The bad reviews made Iggy and his clone frown.
“Geez, everybody’s a critic! Well, how about a nice explosive conversation with the Bullet Bills and our brand new Cry-STILL Bills!” Iggy blurted out, which grabbed the attention of Luigi, Yukiho, andRyou.
“Ca..Crystal Bill?” Ryou started to glare at Iggy.

“Hehe, so you wanna know before I encase you, huh? I can pretty much oblige! Oh, and by the way, it’s ‘Cry-STILL’, not ‘Crystal’.” Lemmy smirked, then adjusted his glasses as he began his lengthy explanation.
*Insert Theme:"Bowser's Castle" (New Super Mario Bros.) (Fortune Street) Version)*
“King Dad.. er... King Bowser's troops just found a simple crystal containing Star Bits, the favorite food of the Lumas, during one of his 2 conquests to conquer the Mushroom Universe and showed off a spell they created by capturing a Toad. Afterwards, the Magikoopas, as well as us Koopalings, learned this spell quite well in effort and demonstrations were superb! Wendy loved it most of all. *Wheeze* But then I had this IDEA... What if we used this spell to make a new species of Bullet Bill for our army? I told King Bowser about this and he told me to give it a try. After some testing, I created a way to make the new Bullet Bill I dubbed, ‘The Crystill Bill.’ *Wheeze* And ‘Crystill’ is a portmanteau or word combination of crystal and the word, "still," meaning ‘motionless’ or ‘animately suspended.’ *Wheeze* Hoo hahahahaha... Pretty clever, huh?”

Iggy finished his long explanation, only to realize that everyone, with the exception of Ritsuko and Benjamin, decided to take a short little snooze cruise!
*Insert Sound Effects: “Cartoon Sleep Snore”, then “Sad Trombone ~ Fail Sound”*
Iggy noticed that not just Miki, but most of the group was asleep from how boring the lesson on the Crystill Bills was to them, front gentle snores to even visible snot bubbles from Mario, Yoshi, and Wario!
“HEY!! DON’T FALL ASLEEP WHILE I’M TALKING!!!” Iggy yelled in a comical temper tantrum, from a throbbing vein to even stem popping out from... where his ears would be... but then noticed Ritsuko still clearly much awake. “Well, at least You’re still awake... how about YOU get first dibs!!” Iggy smirked before firing a few Crystill Bills at the intelligent Idol.
*Resume Theme: "Megaleg" (Super Mario Galaxy)*
“Whoa!” Ritsuko panicked before frantically dodging the Crystill Bills. Waluigi woke up with a satisfied yawn and stretched his long arms, “Ahh... I needed that!” But maybe he should have snoozed some more, as the Crystill Bill hit him point blank, encasing the lanky miscreant in crystal, complete with a stupid pose!
“Ohmy gosh, if I don’t do something, everyone’s going to end up sitting ducks!” Ritsuko frowned before pulling a megaphone and shouting out loud, “WAKE UP!!!”
“Whoa, mamma mia! I’m-a awake! I’m-a awake! Mario slipped to the side, with his snot bubble popped.
“Whoa, I’m up! I’m up!” Miki was startled. The rest of the group felt a little dazed from the premature wake up call, but nobody had time to take a nap, as the two Iggys prepared a wave of Bullet Bills heading straight for the group. Miki narrowly dodged one of the Bullet bills as it detonated, but in the process...
“AHHH!!! MY HAIR!!! THAT TURTLE’S GONNA PAY FOR THAT!!” Miki angrily pouted seeing her hair damaged from the attack, as she ran on one of the legs of the Megaleg Y, as it is called due to the color scheme, dodging the Bullet Bills and Crystill bills in a fit till she made it to the top.
“Well, blondie, you’re pretty quick and gutsy to make it up here without problems!” Iggy snorted with a snarky grin.
“I’ll make you pay for what you did to my hair!” Miki glared, but as she readied herself, Takane place her hand on her friend’s shoulder. “Miki, let us help. I do not think we will easily rest until we have Makoto back with us.”
Miki looked at the eyes of the Silver Queen, and with Hammer Bro, Boo, and Azusa along nodding in approval, Miki gave a confident grin and faced at the cockpit.
“Heh, try what you want, your attacks won’t work on the glass here!” Iggy smiled as he fired a bunch of homing Bullet Bills.
“Look out!!” Azusa yelled as she took cover by the cage. Hammer Bro, suddenly getting a brainstorm, looked at the Bullet Bill’s eyes and taunted, “Come and get me, bill brain!!” Enraged at the taunt, the Bullet Bill chased the hammer wielding Koopa until he came close to Iggy’s cockpit. Seizing its chance to blow Hammer Bro to bits, the bullet shaped minion charged at the Koopa, only to be startled when Hammer Bro leapfrogged over it and knocked it toward the cockpit!
“What the?!” Iggy’s jaw dropped. “In your face, Iggy!!” Hammer Bro grinned as his teeth showed a pearly shine. Takane, Boo, Azusa, and Miki followed suit to lure the Bullet Bills toward the cockpit. But when the last Bullet Bill hit, the cockpit was launched away, only to notice that “Iggy” was knocked away towards the Comet Observatory.
“Uno momento... there’s-a no explosion...” Mario noted as the Megaleg Y simply stopped moving.
“You’r-ae right Bro. I wonder whatta happened..” Luigi scratched his head in confusion.
“HAHA! Dumbskulls! That ‘Iggy’ is the fake! I'm right over here!” The REAL Iggy, onboard the Megaleg X, laughed. “But I think it's time to take this up a notch... BANZAI BILL TIME!!!” The Koopaling then pressed a button which readied a large Bill Blaster which fired Banzai Bills, larger variants of Bullet Bills with shark like smiles that were even harder to dodge simply due to its size.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Never Let Up!” (Mario & Luigi: Dream Team)*
A single Banzai Bill fired out of the blaster at a roaring speed. Mami, Yoshi, and Ayane quickly ducked out of the way, but Wario stubbornly stood his ground as he grabbed hold of the Banzai Bill upon impact.
“Urghh... hey Trouble Twin!! Grab the Bull Pot from my pocket!” Wario growled to Mami as he tried to holding the Banzai Bill in place while the Bullet Bills come in.
“What?” Mami stood dumbfounded at what the obese rival of Wario was suggesting.
“WHAT?! You have too much wax in your ears?! Just do it!” Wario snarled, but then a single Bullet Bill homed on the two. Just as it was about to hit them, Yoshi used his long tongue to grab the Bill and throw it back. Ayane then got onboard the green dinosaur as the two braced themselves. “Don’t worry! Yoshi and I can deal with those bullets! You just help Mr. Wario out!” Ayane called out as the Lolita and dino readied themselves for the second wave of Bullet Bills and Crystill Bills.
Seeing no other way, Mami reached inside Wario’s back pocket and found the pot with bull horns and placed it in Wario’s left hand.
“Hehe.. good move! Now I’ll knock this oversized bullet back to its sender!” Wario smiled as he became Bull Wario once more. The now empowered rival used his astonishing strength to knock the Banzai Bill backwards, destroying a few Bill Blasters that fired Bullet Bills and Crystill Bills in its wake.
“Aw no!! Should have known that the chubby lout would do that!!” Iggy growled before reaching for the controls, “Now I’ll fire my.... ah.. OH NO!!! I FORGOT TO ADD KING BILL BLASTERS TO THIS HEAP!!!”
The Banzai Bill narrowly misses the cannon that fired it and makes a beeline for the cockpit! Even the glass can not withstand it oversized bullet’s blast radius. Wario noticed what was going to happen next as he pulled out a pot with rabbit ears, the Jet Pot, out of his pocket and change to Jet Wario. Now’s not the time to dawdle now! Let’s just say this heap is going to blow!!” Wario cried out as he grabbed Mami’s arm and used the jet on his Jet cap to dash forward. Knowing what Wario was intending to do, Yoshi turned to Ayane, “You might want to hang on tight!!”, as it pulled out a Dash Pepper and ate it. The dinosaur’s body began to glow a fiery orange color as it began to dash away at breakneck speed to catch up with Wario. Back on the cockpit, the Banzai Bill made contact with the glass and exploded, also cooking Iggy in the process.
“Ow.. that’s really gonna leave a..” The wild haired Koopaling groaned, but then noticed the controls short-circuit dangerously, “Now who saw THIS coming? I won't forget this!” But then a light from the Megaleg surrounds Iggy in a alrming way, making the Koopaling nervous. “Oh oh, this ain't gonna go well...” Afterwards the cockpit dramatically explodes, sending the Koopling to the stars, “AVENGE ME, LEMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!”

The entire group sighed a breath of relief after their harrowing battle. ‘Wow, da Koopalings are-a really stepping up dere game! But we still have-a no clue where da Center of da Universe is!”” Mario sighed. Just then, Luigi caught sight of something in the air and high-jumps to get it. “I got it!”
Takane, looking a little curious to what the green plumber nabbed, took a look. “Oh, is that a carrying case?”
Looking at Iggy’s name on the case, Luigi agreed, “It-a seems like-a Iggy dropped this.”
Mario smiled, feeling that the case might be the very clue th entire group needed since the whole incident happened. “Hey, dis-a looks-a like da clue we've-a been-a searching for! Thank-a you very much, Bro!” Luigi happily blushed and rubbed the back of his head, “Oh hohoho... It was-a nothin', Big Bro.”

But before anyone can celebrate, mechanical noises echo the air, coming from the damaged Megaleg Iggy was formerly on.
“That thing is still moving?!” Producer-san shouted, but before he could say more, the Megaleg, struggling to move, collapses to the ground from the explosions that began to occur within the hull! After it fell completely to the ground, the Megaleg explodes with an immense fiery explosion, away from the group. However, the danger was not over...
*Insert Sound Effect: “Loud Alarm”*

“WARNING!! DAMAGE TO THE BASE IS IRREVERSIBLE!! FIVE MINUTES TO SELF DESTRUCT!!”
All of Team Mario and the Idols were greatly alarmed at the announcement from within the hull of the mechanical moon echoed, as the damage from the Megaleg’s explosion severely damaged vital infrastructures from within that power the core. Benjamin, alert as ever teleported to the group, pulled out multiple Red Stars, and shouted in a loud voice, “EVERYONE OFF! THIS PLACE HAS A FEW MINUTEs TO SELF-DESTRUCT! LET'S GO! GET OUTTA' HERE!!!" With that, he teleported away in an instant! Mario, quickly responding to this danger, quickly handed the Red Stars to the rest of the group, “C’mon everybody! We havta go!!!” And with that, Mario, influenced by the Red Star’s effect leapt into the stars and flew off, heading directly for the Comet Observatory.
“Whoa, time to, like, SCRAM!!!” Hammer Bro, now bearing a black and red shell from the Red Star’s effects, stashed his hammer away and followed. The Idols, too, waste no time leaping into the air and flying off. Fortunately for the party, there were no obstacles or any of Bowser’s minions in the way as the flight back to the observatory was a clean one.

By the time the group made it back to the Observatory, taking the Lumas they found along, the countdown was at its final marks...
“5....4.....3...2...1....ZERO. SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE ACTIVATED! GOOD BYE.”

The mechanical moon was utterly destroyed in a cataclysmic Death Star-like explosion. Fortunately, Moo Moo Galaxy and the Comet Observatory were too far off from the blast radius, leaving everone present to sigh a breath of relief.
“Ughh... that was traumatizing!” Producer-san gasped as he tried to catch his breath.
“Is everyone alright? Clearly, I do NOT think an explosion of THAT magnitude is supposed to be part of the experience..” Rosalina went to comfort the group who seemed very shaken but lucky to still be alive.
“I-a think so... mama mia, dat was-a hair raisng...” Mario sighed, but then remembered the case Luigi procured and turned to his brother. “Hey-a Luigi, you-a still have da case?”
“Luigi checked his possessions and pulled out the mentioned item. “Yep, I still-a got it!”

Benjamin then took a calculative look and the safe lock on the case and figured out the combination of the lock. "I can see it... the lock's combination numbers are... 0, 0, 2, 15, 23, 19, 5, 18, 0, 0."
“Oh, dat's amazing! Thank-a you, Benjamin!” Mario smiled as he readied himself to open the lock using the combination.
The interdimension being in the form of a heterochromatic Luma smiled and shrugged, “T'was nothin'... When you're a travere and adventurous Omnidimensional being, gaining and learning new powers and abilities is the best part of the fun! Like seeing passwords and codes."
“Yeah, dat’s-a true.” Mario smiled as he worked quietly on the combination until he managed to undo the lock, “Oh yeah! I got it!” Without hesitation the red plumber hero opened the case.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Huh?” (Final Fantasy 5)*
Hibiki looked at the contents of the case over Mario’s shoulder... and responded with a blank stare, “... It's just a bunch of papers and... a greyish... indigo... crystal thing.”
Ritsuko went to Mario and Hibiki and could only sweat a single drop. “Why would that geeky turtle lock away those things in there...?”
Benjamin picked up the papers and the strange crystal and turned his gaze to ritsuko’s bespectacled brown eyes. “Now, Ritsuko... remember, Iggy's a scientific and enginuitive genius. You saw how he made those two Megalegs earlier by himself. Besides, these are Research Documents... But this crystal... I feel a familiar power emanating from it. Rosalina, Polari and I will check out these clues. Please, wait here until either I or Polari have summoned you." And with that, Benjamin took the papers and the crystal along to bring to Polari and Rosalina for further analysis.
“Okey dokey!” The Mario Bros. respond in agreement. Benjamin quietly looked back at the heroic siblings and sighed before leaving. “Sometimes, I never get tired of hearing that from them."

A small bit of time has passed, and while some of the participants continued their turns,Daisy and Producer-san were watching Ami and Mami, as well as the two mischievous Lumas they rescued poke an the unconscious Iggy clone. It wouldn’t be long until Yukiho, who is holding the Pink Luma she saved, Ryou, Toad, who just arrived from the castle to check on things, Wario and Waluigi come over.
“What are those two doing?” Toad asked in bewilderment.
Producer-san took the time to answer the question, “Making trouble with the Iggy dummy... with some new friends...” Toad was quiet as he looked at the two Lumas performing a trick on the Iggy clone and the Futami twins laughing as a result.
Wario decided to take a closer look at the Iggy clone, simply out of suspicious curiousity, “The fake? Looks too good to be a mechanical doll, maybe an illusion or a copy.”
“Speaking of new friends... She seems to taken a shine to me.” Yukiho gently smiled at the Pink Luma she is holding in her arms, who cooed happily at the gentle bob haired Idol.
“I'm impressed, these little cuties are taking a liking to you idols ever since you saved them. Even though you're not participating in this event, some of you befriended a good number of them, even singed and danced for them.” Daisy smiled at Yukiho as she petted the Pink Luma on the head.
While the chatting continued, the yellow Lumas are thrown off by a puff of smoke into the twins, revealing the fake Iggy to be his Chain Chomp, now currently seeing stars.
“Hey, Mami... What is that?” Ami asked while holding her Luma, who stared in curiousity.
Mami recognized the creature, “It looks like one of those large black sharp-toothed barkers that chased us on our ride to the restruant, Ami. Only smaller..” But then Mami realized something as she looked at Yukiho, then at the Chain Chomp, who is regaining consciousness. “Uh ohhhh...” The twin could only respond in an awkward tone.
The Chain Chomp gets itself back up with a loud thud, getting everyone’s attention.
“What happened to the dummy?! And what is THAT?!” Producer-sna, startled by the thud, looked at the creature. Toad immediately recognized the creature with a harsh chill up his spine. “IT'S A CHAIN CHOMP! IT'S GOTTA BE IGGY'S!!!”

The Chain Chomp stares at Yukiho and begins to pant happily like a dog to its master. Yukiho, however... lost all color as she began to realize that familiar behavior...that which is a complete nightmare for her...
*Insert Theme: “Prince Bowser’s Theme” (Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time)*
“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!” That was all everyone could hear of Yukiho before she ran out of sight, with the Chain Chomp bouncing after her with hearts in its eyes.
“Wh- What's gotten into her?!” Daisy stood dumbstruck, her crown nearly knocked off her head.
Producer-san quietly cowered behind the Sarasa Kingdom princess, “Y... Yukiho's... g-got a b-big case of... Cynophobia... M-Mine's... n-not that bad as hers... I-I-I didn't know THOSE were d-d-dogs...”
“Uhh, they are, Stupid.” Wario deadpanned, staring at the frightened Producer with an unimpressed stare.
“...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!” Yukiho reappeared as she turned around the corner, crying her eyes out, as the iron clad canine still pursued her. Within moments, she was out of sight again.
“That's... some fear of dogs...” Daisy sweated a bit, finding a loss for more words.
“It’s like she's attracting them to her like honey bees...” Toad nodded in agreement, aslo at a loss for words.
Mario and Luigi were wondering what the noise was all about, until they saw a small glimpse of the poor Idol running frantically away and the Chain Chomp that pursued her.
“Hey-a Bro, was..was-a dat Yukiho??” Luigi asked in shock, his green hat knocked in a nangle.
“Yeah, I think-a dat- was-a her... And-a by da look of things, she-a seems terrified..” Mario answered.
Luigi, after getting his hat in place, decided, “I’ll-a go and see if I can help her.” Luigi responded then ran off in the direction of the ruckus.
Waluigi was busy reading a book called “Devious Plotting for Dummies” when the ruckus began, and the noise began to annoy the lanky miscreant enough that he shut the book and threw it to the floor. He saw Luigi and Mario try to grab hold of the Chain Chomp’s chain. Irate at the commotion, Waluigi trips Yukiho with his right leg, then using the same leg launched a powerful kick that sent the canine airborne! The iron clad yelped before it disappeared within the sea of stars.

Yukiho stared quietly at Waluigi before he huffed, “Trust me, I didn't do that for you.” And with that, he returned to reading his book in peace.
“Yukiho, are you-a okay??” Luigi ran to the tired Idol.
“Ye..Yes, I’m okay now... Waluigi saved me...” Yukiho sighed before Luigi helped her back up.
“Waluigi?? That-a dolt?” Luigi suspiciously stared at Waluigi who continued to read his book without a word. Before the green plumber could confirm his suspicions, Polari appeared to the brothers, looking a little shaken.

“Polari, what dis it? Why are-a you so tense...?” Mario asked the worn out Luma.
“Yes. Lady Rosalina requests everyone to see her and Benjamin. Now.” Polari answered, which gave the brothers and Yukiho a reason to worry.

Whoa.. talk about a LONG chapter...anyway, what has Polari, Benjamin, and Benjamin discovered in the papers and crystal that has gotten the Luma to get tensed up? Could it have anything to do with what Bowser is plotting? Yep, a cliffhanger, folks! Perhaps the next chapter will yield answers!
Again, great help from HairyBlob2 of DeviantArt . This arc’s gonna be a long one, but this was ANOTHER mini boss fight! The arc’s battle has not come close yet! Plus, I missed the Red Stars from the first Super Mario Galaxy. They were easier to control than the Wing Cap from Super Mario 64, but they were not abundant. Also, an escape? I didn’t expect a Metroid element of fleeing before the place blows up In here! But then again as I said before, what IS to expect?
