Description
CrystalPhoenixBlader here, bringing in another chapter to the fanfic! The battle for the universe is at its beginning now, now that the location of the Center of the Universe has been confirmed. Things might be a bit tense, so brace yourselves! So anyway, I do not own any of the Mario characters or the iDOLMASTER characters; the Mario characters belong to Nintendo and the iDOLMASTER characters belong to Namco Bandai. So, with that aside for now, let’s return to the space adventure!

Chapter 38
The Battle for the Universe Part 1: Ambush of the Airship Armada
*Starship Mario ~ Main Deck*
*Insert Theme: “Mission Briefing” (Star Fox: Assault)*
After the careful layout and explanation of the rescue of both Peach and Makoto, the remaining members of Team Mario and the Idols boarded the Starship Mario to prepare for the difficult mission. Lubba waited by the whell in eager preparation. “Captains, Milady, the Starship Mario is ready for takeoff at your word.”
Rosalina, also taking, however by using her Observatory coated with protective magic in hope of distracting the airships, spoke “If any time is a good time, now is as good as any.”
“Finally!” Ritsuko adjusted her glasses, knowing for certain that the upcoming battle will not be avoided in any way, nodded, “I'm glad we can get this rescue operation underway.”
Benjamin, getting whatever gear he had in possession in order, smiled in agreement, “I couldn't object to that, let's head to the Universe's Center!"
Finished with all the necessary preparations for the mission, Mario and Luigi walked to the wheel of the ship with a determined fire in their eyes.”Oh yeah! Let's-a go!” The heroic red plumber shouted out, ready as ever. Nodding in agreement, Luigi gave the order to Lubba, “Fire up the engines, Lubba!”
“Right away! The large Luma smiled as he left for the engine room to get the spaceship up and ready. Producer-san and Ritsuko decide to take the time to do one thing. “Ritsuko, help me round up the Idols together, we’ve got an announcement to give out!” The black haired producer spoke.
“Yosh!” Ritsuko accepted the order and used the Warp Pipe from the Starship to the Observatory to get the Idols aboard immediately. Mario then stared out to the stars with one thing in his mind. “Hang on, Peach...” Meanwhile, Benjamin turned his attention away from the group as he spoke to himself in a way that nobody could hear. “This could be the longest arc we've had..." (Hey! Did I sense some fourth wall breaking AND a spoiler?)
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Bowser’s Galaxy Reactor” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
“So now we can rescue Makoto-kun and Peach now? Really?” Chihaya stood staring at Producer-san over the news that he just delivered. The other Idols draw notice of the sudden news as well.
“Yes, with all we have right now, Rosalina is the most eager to go. We'll be riding with her and Benjamin while Mario's group will be taking the Faceship- er, Starship Mario.” Produ8cer-san confirmed the message of the harrowing trip to the Center of the Universe. Of course, Haruka was the first to be delighted at the message.
“Imagine that. We're saving a princess in distress and Makoto Kikuchi the princely Idol at the same time! I'm going to give my all in rescuing them both, so let's do our best together as well!” The ribbon wearing Idol happily rallied the group, to which all the other Idols cheered bravely as a result. (Gives good meaning to the term “You mess with one of us, you mess with ALL of us! , don’t you think?)
“I sure hope Makoto-chan is okay... I hate to imagine what terrible things they could be doing to her...!” Yukiho sighed in worry, tightly gripping her Diamond Shovel.
“Hey, remember what Mario-san said, Yukiho-chan? Bowser would never go to such harmful lengths to guests. So I'm sure she's safe.” Ryou reassured the gentle bob haired Idol, remembering Mario’s words back when, when was enough to make her show a calm smile.
“Shame Yoshi-chan can’t come along with me for this part... but I too will have to do what I can... for Makoto’s sake!” Iori calmly clutched her fist with a confident smile worthy of her station while still holding her plush rabbit.
Rosalina readied her wand, ready for this moment, and spoke, “Is everyone ready? Good. To the Center of the Universe!” With a wave of her wand, the entire observatory began to change. The domes begin to latch onto different sections of the observatory, drastically changing the exterior shape into that of a comet. Then, with a wave of her wand, Rosalina called in the powerful protective energies in space to form around the observatory, completing its look into a comet. Without hesitation, the Observatory, now in its Comet Form, sped off through space to the Center of the Universe, with the Starship Mario, now powered with a few Grand Stars from the competition, quickly following along.

Meanwhile, at the Center of the Universe...
*Center of the Universe ~ Bowser’s Throne*
*Insert Theme: “Castle Theme” (Super Mario World)*
Bowser calmly sits down on his large throne as he finished a glass of one of his favorite drinks.
“Ahhhh... Nothing beats the thing of looking at the stars while in the Center of the Universe, gulping down a drink.” The Koopa King smiled after swallowing down the tasty beverage.
“You said it, King Dad!” Iggy agreed while rubbing clean the clear surface of a peculiar machine known as the Galaxy Converter. “And more are coming to existence thanks to me and this machine! And the Lumas we nabbed plus that one of the time crystals that were mined have proved to your benefit. Right, Chomplex?” The mentioned Chain Chomp barked and panted happily.
Kamek appeared in the room with a checklist in his hands, “Your relaxedness, there is already a count of 13 galaxies and suns... 82 planets, 87 moons, 164 planetoids and 8013 stars...”
Bowser was delighted with the current results. “Yes... More... more, I say! MORE! GWAHAHAHAHAAAA! The more, the merrier... THE BIGGER, THE BETTER! That's just how I like my new Galactic Koopa Empire! What else could happen next?” The Koopa King smiled with an evil chuckle. Just then, a voiced sounded off from the walkie talkie in Kamek’s pocket.
“*KRRZT* Master Kamek. Come in, Master Kamek. *TCHRRTZ*”
“Hear you loud and clear, Corporal Paraplonk.” Kamek pulled out the walkie talkie and responded to the call.
One of the leading Paratroopa units, Corporal Paraplonk, began to give his important message to his superior, “*CHHHT* We've recovered Young Lord Lemmy in one of the swamp planetoids and are en route to the throne on his request via Doomship. *KCHT*”
“Lord Lemmy? ... Understood.” Kamek ended his transmission and put away the walkie talkie.
“...? Did I just hear that right?” Bowser asked in confusion as he scratched his head, having this feeling in his gut that he knew what had happened.
“Apparently Lord Lemmy was likely defeated again...” Kamek confirmed the Koopa King’s suspicions with a shrug. However, Iggy was starting to not look so impressed. “For his sake, he better have my case or there is going to be havoc.” The genius Koopaling frowned.
Kamek decided to clean his glasses for a bit as he began to ponder, “Now how did he end up on one of the swamp planetoids...? And where was Mother in all this?”
Bowser sighed, tilting his head to the side, “We'll know more about those when Lemmy gets here.”
Kamek was quiet for a bit on what may have happened to Lemmy, until a trigger in his brain jolted his attention as to wonder where Bowser Jr. is at. “Milord, the prince has been up on one of those moons above for quite some time. Do you have any clue what your son is doing?”
“Get me another. Huh? Well, last I heard he was going to ‘make a new minion’ or something... he has that paintbrush after all.” Bowser’s attention was changed to his son’s message of temporary departure for preparations after asking his waiter for another of the delicious beverage.
“I've seen the work of Prince Bowser Jr.'s paintbrush on Isle Delfino in action before. It's what takes a creative mind to make one's imagination a reality.” Kamek confirmed with a glint in his glasses, remembering the havoc Bowser Jr. made at the isle... well before Makoto knocked the Koopa Prince into submission for kidnapping Yukiho.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Bowser’s Revenge” (Mario Party 7)*
Just as the conversation ended, a Doomship landed, with Lemmy exiting the vessel. The Koopaling looked extremely mortified of the enormous failure he had at the moment as he was murmuring in some illegible tone until he stumbled towards Bowser’s feet. Iggy ran to his brother with a frantic look on his face, seeing as he looked empty handed. “Lemmy?! Good gravy train, you're an emotional wreck. Where's Kammy, Lemmy?! Does she have my case?!”
“Lord Iggy, please calm yourself...!” Kamek ran toward the hysterical Koopaling, hoping to calm things down.
“WHERE'S MY FREAKIN' CARRYING CASE, LEMMY?!” iggy shouted frantically at Lemmy, shaking his shoulders uncontrollably.
“IT'S USELESS!!!” Lemmy cried out after a few moments, startling Bowser, Kamek, and Iggy. The tension seemed to be very high as the defeated Koopaling spoke, “I don't know how he did it... It's empty, they already knew before we even got there, the guy somehow cracked it, Iggy, THE CASE IS OPEN! THEY KNOW! MARIO AND HIS FRIENDS ARE ALREADY COMING HERE!!!”
Fearing the worst, Iggy began to really panic. “This-- THIS IS A JOKE, RIGHT?! Please tell me they didn't crack the code and you're making this all up!!” The genius Koopaling quickly wanted to deny this unbelievable truth as he had hoped Lemmy was just joking around. ..Sadly for the group, this was not the case.
“I'm not! And one of us is already seeing red!” Lemmy frowned, pointing at a completely infuriated Bowser.
*Insert Jingle: “An Angry Bowser” (Mario Party 7)*
The Koopa King’s bright red pupils suddenly shrink and veins are noow visible around his already bulging eyes. ..Yep, Bowser, the mighty King of the Koopas, is completely in a monstrous fury, with the glass he was holding shattered completely into little sharp pieces in his hand!
“Grrrrrr-RRRRRRRRRNNNGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!”
“Y-Your Furiousness! Your blood pressure...! C-Calm yourself!!” Kamek began to panic uncontrollably, fearing for his life.
“I absolutely SWEAR; if there is anything that burns me up hotter than the sun by getting on my nerves, it is HIM! IT BURNS ME UP!!!” Bowser roared in uncontrollable fury as he breathed a devastating Fire Breath upwards before calming down. “UGHHHHHH... Why... How bad can my luck be...?”
Kamek, feeling the coast is clear for now, began to scratch his head for a moment. “I'm sorry if I don't know, Your Glumness... but sometimes you hear people talk about the whims of fate playing tricks on lives affecting our karma and... seriously, you don't believe in that old hogwash... right, my king?”
Bowser tilted his head and crossed his muscular arms, “Unghf... Of course, I don't... That Mario just isn't going to lay down and die... I can't rule the universe, let alone the Mushroom Kingdom, while he's always getting in my way...”
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Bowser’s Rage” (Mario Party 7)*
Just as things were bad for the Koopa King, a familiar voice echoed from a distance, in the form of Kammy Koopa. “My king, why so down?”
“Kammy!” “Mother!”
The Magikoopa matriarch flew downwards toward the group with Peach in tow, who noticed the still crystallized Makoto. “I'm sure this is will comfort your spirits back.”
Peach turned her sights to the depressed Koopa King. Bowser looked at Peach, and the mere sight of the Mushroom Princess was enough to put him back in a good mood! “Ohhh!” Kammy, you kidnapped Peach! Well done!” The Koopa King King then stomped forward to the two ladies with a reignited smile in his face. “You got here just in time when I was in a terrible mood 'til you came here. Hearing from Lemmy that the cat's out of the bag with Mario knowing what I'm doing here and all...”
Kammy looked Peach with a befuddled look on her face. “This is a joke, right? Did you youngsters really open the lock on the case?”
“Mm-hm.” The princess simply nodded.
“Uhm... Oh dear me. That would explain why His Highness was screaming..” Kammy frowned, knowing that she held Bowser’s furious voice from many, many miles away! Kamek waved his hand with a smile,” But that's over and done with, Mother!”
“What he said.” Bowser added just for the heck of it, then turned to Peach with a smile, “Since you're here, I'm feeling much better now! C'mon, say something.”
Peach could only frown as she spoke, “Bowser... You know I can't be happy around you no matter you do. How could you treat Makoto like that...? I know she lost her temper and took it out on Junior, but this is too much to bear... But that can't compare how heartless you are abusing the newborn Lumas you all kidnapped from Rosalina...!”
Just then, Bowser Jr. arrived on the scene aboard his own Koopa Klown Kar, “Hey, Papa! Thought I'd check out what's the commotion and, uhhh... Oh, HI, MAMA PEACH!”
“Uhhh... H-Hello, Junior...” Peach sweated a little, seeing the miscreacnt son of Bowser again.
“Hmhmhm..” Bowser headed to his throne with Kammy and Peach slowly following, “Listen, Princess... SOME things in the universe require sacrifice for the good things yet to come. The cute little twerps are an example of this fact for you to know. Besides, no matter how bad it seems to other people, good things CAN actually come out of it.” The Koopa King then sat down on his throne and finished his sentence with a snarky smile. “Hahaha... and anything that has ‘bad’ written all over it will actually spell ‘Bowser!’”
*DOING!!!*
“Um, yes, I've always had known that.” Peach quietly deadpanned.
Bowser turned to his son, who had just arrived. “So, Junior... What's going on?” Without hesitation, the Koopa Prince handed his father a picture. “I wanted to show you the picture I made of the new minion!”
Bowser took a look of the picture showing the new creature Bowser Jr. managed to create with his Magical Paintbrush. “..... Interesting.”
Bowser Jr. placed his left hand on his hip while holding the paintbrush like a staff and smiled in confidence, “Heehee! Mario's friends will be stopped in their tracks once they meet this guy.”
Iggy quickly grabbed the group’s attention all of a sudden, “'Ey, King Dad! The Galaxy Converter is ready to age Lumas pass 420 years!”
“Hehehehehe! Just watch for yourself how my plan works, Peach. Fire away, Iggy!” Bowser laughed before giving the order.
“You got it! Haha!” Iggy smiled before pulling the lever of the machine. Within moments, the cries of many Lumas and the newborns could be heard inside the machine, making Peach uncomfortable. After a few disturbing moments, four lights fly out of the Galaxy Converter's cannon into the stars beyond and explode like fireworks, forming larger galaxies.
*End Theme, Insert Theme “Shocking!” (Mario & Luigi: Dream Team)*
“Wow, those are BIG!” Lemmy gaped up at the results with awe. “I know, right?! GENIUS!” Iggy agreed with a happy smile. While the Koopas look at the beautiful display, Peach gets a heart-sinking feeling beneath her bosom.
Bowser returned his attention to the Mushroom Kingdom Princess, “That's right, Peach... all of this, my Galactic Koopa Empire, will take the whole Mushroom Universe... to be all OURS! Of course, a Cosmic Emperor will need *erhem!* a Cosmic Empress at his side.”
“Cosmic... Empress?” Peach wondered in confusion.
“Yeah! And what wouldn't complete a cosmic imperial wedding with some singing and dancing bridesmaids?! Except for that one, Makoto. She has deserved this or worse, otherwise, and will be an example to the Idols that they shouldn't resist my wishes...” Bowser smiled with a happy tone.
Peach simply responded with just these words, “Mario and Luigi will STOP you.”
Bowser simply smirked, not intimidated in the slightest, “Ha! You always say to me, Peachy-pie. Besides Makoto, I thought those plumbing fools will be my next decorations for my throne. Junior's creation will handle the plumb-scum's friends,” The Koopa King then cracked his knuckles, “...while dealing with the brothers once and for all. Kamek, Give our ‘Welcoming Committee’ this set of orders...”
“Yes, your Deteminedness!” Kamek saluted before hopping on his broom to meet up with the troops.

Meanwhile, back at the Observatory in Comet Form...
*Rosalina’s Comet Observatory (Comet Form) ~ Outer Space*
*Insert Theme: “Course Select” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
The Idols view the sight of many galaxies they pass by. Yukiho, Ami, Mami, Yayoi, Takane, Hibiki, and Haruka decide to pass the time by having some fun with the Lumas they rescued. While the fun ensued, Miki caught sight of a meteor shower in plain view. “Nnn? Ohhhh! Oiii~! Look everyone! A star shower!”
The rest of the Idols head over to Miki’s location and saw the astral bodies fly in all directions, yet the force of Rosalina’s magic would shield them from any direct strikes.
“Wooooowwwww...!” “Sugoiiiii...!” “It's so beautiful...” “How lovely!”
Iori looked at the meteor shower with stars in her eyes, “We could see so many of these in space wherever we go. You never see such a sight like these this often...”
“You said it, Iori-chan.” Yayoi smiled happily.
As the Idols continued to watch this once in a lifetime spectacle, a few meteors seem to swerve off course.
“Huh? Hey, something is up with those ones...” Chihaya responded, enough to make the other Idols take notice. Within moments the group watched as falling stars began to swerve into what looks to be a Black Hole. The mere sight made Ritsuko freeze. “... I-is that... a Black Hole?”

Polari this time answered the question, “Of course... As the destroyers of both light, life, stars, planets and suns, those are somewhat commonplace in parts of the universe...”
The young Producer began to feel uncomfortable at what the advisor of Rosalina just said, “’Somewhat commonplace’ doesn't make me feel better.”
“Well, how about this..." Benjamin stepped forward, to which Takane noticed, “Benjamin-san?”
*Insert Theme: “Silent Approach” (Project X Zone)*
Benjamin decided to once again show his wisdom in which an interdimensional being like him would say, “True, Black Holes are known to harm and kill you in the most gruesome ways as possible, consider the other possibility; there are Black Holes that considered to be dimensional rifts, entrances to dimensions with exits opposite to Black Holes- the White Hole."
Producer-san stood confused, “A White Hole?”, while Ritsuko was completely skeptical, “A White Hole? I heard of science fictional entertainment like that in movies and novels talk of that stuff, but we'd take no chances of trying to learn if that is possible.”
“Yes. And a possibility of that happening is completely remote.” Polari agreed, which was enough to make Benjamin raise an eyebrow. “..You seriously don't seem to get the idea of that there is something you know is sadly coming from doubt."”
Chihaya asked Haruka for a moment, “What does that mean?”, to which the ribbon wearing Idol shrugged, “No idea.” Yayoi, however... “I HAVE NO CLUE!!!” The puffy haired answered with a big grin, enough to make Iori tilt over. Within moments, the Comet Observatory, with the Starship Mario by the side, began to come near the Center of the Universe.

*Center of the Universe ~ Near the Main Entrance*
*Insert Theme:
The Comet Observatory and the Starship Mario were nearing the Center of the Universe, which looked like it had a lot more galaxies than the last time Mario and Luigi visited before. While nearing the place, Benjamin took the time to speak to Hibiki. “So, yeah, Hibiki, I personally love specific colors of blue and green. I love them mixed even more if ya' know what I mean by looking into my eyes and recalling my previous form. And I LOVE your stage color, Hibiki, which leads me to that I also like to know you more."
Hibiki blushed at the statement and rubbed the back of her head, with Takane giggling, “Awww, c'mon, Benjamin-san! I hardly know how to talk to a guy who is interested in me because of my stage color, let alone a dimensional traveler!”
“Hahahaha!!” Benjamin laughed, but then, as if noticing something, the interdimensional being looked left and right. Without warning, the interdimensional being split into two, right in front of the Okinawan Idol. “Benjamin-san?” Just as Hibiki spoke, Benjamin teleported, right in front of her! “Gah! Where'd you go?!”
As if in a sudden movement, the two Benjamins appeared in front of Rosalina at the Observatory and Mario at the Starship Mario.
"STOP!” “HOLD IT!”
“Gasp!” “WHOA!!”
*Insert Sound Effect: Wheel Skid x2*

Both drivers of the two vessels managed to get themselves up from the sudden stop; Rosalina was the first. “What is the meaning of this, Benjamin? Whatever could be the problem?”
“Why'd you stop us?!” Ritsuko shouted, her glasses a little knocked loose and off angle.
Mario then took his turn as he readjusted his trademark red cap. “Holy Spaghetti Sauce-a, Benjamin! Why are-a we-a stopping? We're almost dere!”
“You better have a good reason.” Luigi frowned, joining his brother.
Both Benjamins look around with a cautious look and teleport between both transports into a singular being. As if knowing something was off, he began to shout in a very loud voice, “YOU IDIOTS THINK YOU'RE SO SNEAKY, DON'T YOU?!?!?! BUT YOU CAN'T FOOL ME!!! NOW SHOW YOURSELVES!!! I KNOW YOU'RE ALL OUT THERE!!!”
Silence stood in the black darkness of space, but then...
*Insert Sound Effect: “Electricity”*
A lone Airship belonging to one of Bowser’s troops materializes out of nowhere!
*Insert Theme: “Attack of the Airships” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
Within moments of the first Airship appearing, more Airships materialize in all different directions, surrounding the two vessels! The Idols all gasp at the sight of the ships!
“Are those... sea ships? With helicopter propellers?! Where did they come from?!” Ritsuko spoke in shock, flustered at how many airships are around.
Benjamin warped to her position to answer her question, “Airships. From Bowser's Aerial Navy.”
Lubba ran to the two super brothers in a panic, “Captains! We have a dire situation!”
Mario looked in all directions in shock, “Bowsa's Airships! Dis looks baaaad...”
Luigi began to wonder in panic, “How'd da Airships get here without us-a seeing dem?!”
The Benjamin Duplicate warps in to explain, “Cloaking Devices. It's seems Iggy's outfitted them each with SCCDs. I shouldn't have underestimated the ingenuity of that little *Coin*..." (Note: Mario's dimension couldn't use curse words, so everyone hears the coin sound instead)
Mario stood confused from the censoring sound, “Hm? Did you say something?” The interdimensional being stood wide eyed, this time failing to find a way to respond.
Not intimidated by the threat whatsoever, Wario cracked his knuckles, itching for a fight. “Who cares what he said, these Koopas are gonna' get shellshocked.” ..However, Waluigi was not as excited.
“'EY! Behind us! Look!” The long limbed rival shouted as she spotted Airships appearing from the rear.
“WHOA!” The startled Yoshi jumped with a jolt. Birdo looked at all her surroundings, “Behind and in front. Left and right... Above and even below!”
Daisy, place herself in a defense position, shouted out, “There's too many of them, Mario! We're surrounded!” The red plumber nodded looking at the armada of Airships, “...Dis must-a be his-a welcomin'-a party...”
Luigi, feeling like he noticed something within the airships, pulls out a pair of binoculars from his overalls pocket and took a look. His eyes began to pop out metaphorically from the lens at the sight of what he just saw, “Big Bro! DOOM-A-SHIP APPROACHING!”
A couple of airships each move to the sides to let the Doomship proceed. The enormous sight of the vessel was nothing like what all the Idols have seen thus far.
“YOW! Look at THAT ship!” Miki shouted pointing at the mentioned vessel. Iori too can’t take her eyes off as well, “It's bigger than the rest of the other ships!”
Benjaim took the time the answer the two Idols’ question, “That's one of the Koopa Troop Air Navy's vanguard vessels! A Doomship!"
“Oh, great..” Yumeko frowned at the result, while Yukiho began to feel scared, “D-D-D... Doomship...?”
Ryou, knowing Makoto‘s current situation, decides to step into the defense in her stead with an ensuring tone, “Don't worry, you two. I'll do my best to protect you and everyone here.”
“Wh-what's gotten into you all of a sudden, Ryou!? Acting like a prince in shining armor!” Yumeko went into a complete tsundere fit over the sight of Ryou’s determination, while Yukiho simply just blushed, “Ryou-chan...”
“We're surrounded! What are going to do?!” Hibiki shouted in panic.

A lone figure flies to the Doomship’s bow. Pulling out a megaphone, he cleared his throat for testing, before calling out, “Attention, Mario and friends...!”
“Huh? Who's that?” Yoshi wondered, not recalling the voice. However, Mario and Luigi DID recognize the voice. “Dat voice...” Mario started.
“Mario, I think-a dat'sa Corporal-a Paraplonk.” Luigi answered to his older brother, to which he wondered, “Hey, isn't-a he-a one of dhose three guys...?”
Corporal Paraplonk called out from the bow of the Doomship, “It is I, Corporal Paraplonk of Bowser's "Elite Three!" If you have noticed, we have you surrounded and we're armed to the teeth! His Awesomeness, the supreme King Bowser, has instructed us that you must heed our demands or we'll use force if you refuse. Resist and we'll have no other choice but to counterattack at full might! This is NOT a trap!”
“’ His awesomeness?’” Ai questioned in concern, while Takane angrily frowned, “Arrogant brute...”
Mario shrugged, knowing from experience. “Hmph... I know a trap when I-a know one.”
Paraplonk then continued his message. “Our first demand is that you admit your submission! Do not resist and we shall not counterattack! Repeat, do not resist and we shall not counterattack!”
Mario began to scratch his chin, thinking things over, “"So the only choice we have is to comply. If we don't, we'll have problems.", while Luigi looked at his brother, “Mario?”
Somehow having a plan that is not told at the moment, the Benjamin clone turned to Mario, “"Here, Mario. Play along.” With that, the clone transformed into a megaphone, with which the plumber hero picked up and turned on.
*Insert Sound Effect: “Megaphone Ring”*
“Uhm-a... It'sa me, Mario. Okey-dokey, dhen, We'll'a comply with-a you for da time-being as-a long as-a da instructions are agreeable...”
Ritsuko and Iori were aghast at the hero’s reaction, while the Corporal remained silent.
“What?! Why did he say that!?” Iori became flabberghasted to think straight, while Ritsuko was not amused. “What is the meaning of this?”
Benjamin turned to the two with a serious expression. “Hey, Mario and my other self know what they’re doing. You want your friends and you bombarded by a storm of Bullet Bills and Crystill Bills, wave after wave and the possible destruction of our only transports?"
Seeing the truth behind this decision, Producer –san sighed, “I'm afraid Benjamin-san's got a point.”
Seeing that this argument was lost, Ritsuko frowned as she looked at the pretty rich girl, “... Point taken, right, Iori-san...?”
“... R-Right...” Iori sighed, knowing where this scenario might be going.
Satisfied with the reaction, Paraplonk called out on the megaphone, “Good. Thank you very much. The King instructed us to take you to him, your next step is to follow this Doomship. Recall our early warning, Mario. Follow us.” And with that, the Doomship turned directions towards the center.

Keeping a calm focus, Mario decided, “Well, let's-a go..”
Luigi, feeling his legs quivering, asked his brother, “Mario? This isn't a trap, right?”
Mario tilted his head, “Maybe, it'll probably be like that one time...” as the Comet Observatory and the Starship Mario follow the Doomship, still surrounded by Airships whose crew members were watching their every move...

Whoa, my... this is one sticky situation Mario and the Idols have landed themselves into, which cannot be easily solved by simply duking it out! What did Mario recall just now, and will it be relevant to getting himself, his team, and the Idols out of this predicament, as well as rescuing Peach and Makoto? Stay tuned, ‘cause this is just the beginning of the battle!

CrystalPhoenixBlader here, bringing in another chapter to the fanfic! The battle for the universe is at its beginning now, now that the location of the Center of the Universe has been confirmed. Things might be a bit tense, so brace yourselves! So anyway, I do not own any of the Mario characters or the iDOLMASTER characters; the Mario characters belong to Nintendo and the iDOLMASTER characters belong to Namco Bandai. So, with that aside for now, let’s return to the space adventure!

Chapter 38
The Battle for the Universe Part 1: Ambush of the Airship Armada

*Insert Theme: “Mission Briefing” (Star Fox: Assault)*
After the careful layout and explanation of the rescue of both Peach and Makoto, the remaining members of Team Mario and the Idols boarded the Starship Mario to prepare for the difficult mission. Lubba waited by the whell in eager preparation. “Captains, Milady, the Starship Mario is ready for takeoff at your word.”
Rosalina, also taking, however by using her Observatory coated with protective magic in hope of distracting the airships, spoke “If any time is a good time, now is as good as any.”
“Finally!” Ritsuko adjusted her glasses, knowing for certain that the upcoming battle will not be avoided in any way, nodded, “I'm glad we can get this rescue operation underway.”
Benjamin, getting whatever gear he had in possession in order, smiled in agreement, “I couldn't object to that, let's head to the Universe's Center!"
Finished with all the necessary preparations for the mission, Mario and Luigi walked to the wheel of the ship with a determined fire in their eyes.”Oh yeah! Let's-a go!” The heroic red plumber shouted out, ready as ever. Nodding in agreement, Luigi gave the order to Lubba, “Fire up the engines, Lubba!”
“Right away! The large Luma smiled as he left for the engine room to get the spaceship up and ready. Producer-san and Ritsuko decide to take the time to do one thing. “Ritsuko, help me round up the Idols together, we’ve got an announcement to give out!” The black haired producer spoke.
“Yosh!” Ritsuko accepted the order and used the Warp Pipe from the Starship to the Observatory to get the Idols aboard immediately. Mario then stared out to the stars with one thing in his mind. “Hang on, Peach...” Meanwhile, Benjamin turned his attention away from the group as he spoke to himself in a way that nobody could hear. “This could be the longest arc we've had..." (Hey! Did I sense some fourth wall breaking AND a spoiler?)
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Bowser’s Galaxy Reactor” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
“So now we can rescue Makoto-kun and Peach now? Really?” Chihaya stood staring at Producer-san over the news that he just delivered. The other Idols draw notice of the sudden news as well.
“Yes, with all we have right now, Rosalina is the most eager to go. We'll be riding with her and Benjamin while Mario's group will be taking the Faceship- er, Starship Mario.” Produ8cer-san confirmed the message of the harrowing trip to the Center of the Universe. Of course, Haruka was the first to be delighted at the message.
“Imagine that. We're saving a princess in distress and Makoto Kikuchi the princely Idol at the same time! I'm going to give my all in rescuing them both, so let's do our best together as well!” The ribbon wearing Idol happily rallied the group, to which all the other Idols cheered bravely as a result. (Gives good meaning to the term “You mess with one of us, you mess with ALL of us! , don’t you think?)
“I sure hope Makoto-chan is okay... I hate to imagine what terrible things they could be doing to her...!” Yukiho sighed in worry, tightly gripping her Diamond Shovel.
“Hey, remember what Mario-san said, Yukiho-chan? Bowser would never go to such harmful lengths to guests. So I'm sure she's safe.” Ryou reassured the gentle bob haired Idol, remembering Mario’s words back when, when was enough to make her show a calm smile.
“Shame Yoshi-chan can’t come along with me for this part... but I too will have to do what I can... for Makoto’s sake!” Iori calmly clutched her fist with a confident smile worthy of her station while still holding her plush rabbit.
Rosalina readied her wand, ready for this moment, and spoke, “Is everyone ready? Good. To the Center of the Universe!” With a wave of her wand, the entire observatory began to change. The domes begin to latch onto different sections of the observatory, drastically changing the exterior shape into that of a comet. Then, with a wave of her wand, Rosalina called in the powerful protective energies in space to form around the observatory, completing its look into a comet. Without hesitation, the Observatory, now in its Comet Form, sped off through space to the Center of the Universe, with the Starship Mario, now powered with a few Grand Stars from the competition, quickly following along.

Meanwhile, at the Center of the Universe...
*Center of the Universe ~ Bowser’s Throne*
*Insert Theme: “Castle Theme” (Super Mario World)*
Bowser calmly sits down on his large throne as he finished a glass of one of his favorite drinks.
“Ahhhh... Nothing beats the thing of looking at the stars while in the Center of the Universe, gulping down a drink.” The Koopa King smiled after swallowing down the tasty beverage.
“You said it, King Dad!” Iggy agreed while rubbing clean the clear surface of a peculiar machine known as the Galaxy Converter. “And more are coming to existence thanks to me and this machine! And the Lumas we nabbed plus that one of the time crystals that were mined have proved to your benefit. Right, Chomplex?” The mentioned Chain Chomp barked and panted happily.
Kamek appeared in the room with a checklist in his hands, “Your relaxedness, there is already a count of 13 galaxies and suns... 82 planets, 87 moons, 164 planetoids and 8013 stars...”
Bowser was delighted with the current results. “Yes... More... more, I say! MORE! GWAHAHAHAHAAAA! The more, the merrier... THE BIGGER, THE BETTER! That's just how I like my new Galactic Koopa Empire! What else could happen next?” The Koopa King smiled with an evil chuckle. Just then, a voiced sounded off from the walkie talkie in Kamek’s pocket.
“*KRRZT* Master Kamek. Come in, Master Kamek. *TCHRRTZ*”
“Hear you loud and clear, Corporal Paraplonk.” Kamek pulled out the walkie talkie and responded to the call.
One of the leading Paratroopa units, Corporal Paraplonk, began to give his important message to his superior, “*CHHHT* We've recovered Young Lord Lemmy in one of the swamp planetoids and are en route to the throne on his request via Doomship. *KCHT*”
“Lord Lemmy? ... Understood.” Kamek ended his transmission and put away the walkie talkie.
“...? Did I just hear that right?” Bowser asked in confusion as he scratched his head, having this feeling in his gut that he knew what had happened.
“Apparently Lord Lemmy was likely defeated again...” Kamek confirmed the Koopa King’s suspicions with a shrug. However, Iggy was starting to not look so impressed. “For his sake, he better have my case or there is going to be havoc.” The genius Koopaling frowned.
Kamek decided to clean his glasses for a bit as he began to ponder, “Now how did he end up on one of the swamp planetoids...? And where was Mother in all this?”
Bowser sighed, tilting his head to the side, “We'll know more about those when Lemmy gets here.”
Kamek was quiet for a bit on what may have happened to Lemmy, until a trigger in his brain jolted his attention as to wonder where Bowser Jr. is at. “Milord, the prince has been up on one of those moons above for quite some time. Do you have any clue what your son is doing?”
“Get me another. Huh? Well, last I heard he was going to ‘make a new minion’ or something... he has that paintbrush after all.” Bowser’s attention was changed to his son’s message of temporary departure for preparations after asking his waiter for another of the delicious beverage.
“I've seen the work of Prince Bowser Jr.'s paintbrush on Isle Delfino in action before. It's what takes a creative mind to make one's imagination a reality.” Kamek confirmed with a glint in his glasses, remembering the havoc Bowser Jr. made at the isle... well before Makoto knocked the Koopa Prince into submission for kidnapping Yukiho.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Bowser’s Revenge” (Mario Party 7)*
Just as the conversation ended, a Doomship landed, with Lemmy exiting the vessel. The Koopaling looked extremely mortified of the enormous failure he had at the moment as he was murmuring in some illegible tone until he stumbled towards Bowser’s feet. Iggy ran to his brother with a frantic look on his face, seeing as he looked empty handed. “Lemmy?! Good gravy train, you're an emotional wreck. Where's Kammy, Lemmy?! Does she have my case?!”
“Lord Iggy, please calm yourself...!” Kamek ran toward the hysterical Koopaling, hoping to calm things down.
“WHERE'S MY FREAKIN' CARRYING CASE, LEMMY?!” iggy shouted frantically at Lemmy, shaking his shoulders uncontrollably.
“IT'S USELESS!!!” Lemmy cried out after a few moments, startling Bowser, Kamek, and Iggy. The tension seemed to be very high as the defeated Koopaling spoke, “I don't know how he did it... It's empty, they already knew before we even got there, the guy somehow cracked it, Iggy, THE CASE IS OPEN! THEY KNOW! MARIO AND HIS FRIENDS ARE ALREADY COMING HERE!!!”
Fearing the worst, Iggy began to really panic. “This-- THIS IS A JOKE, RIGHT?! Please tell me they didn't crack the code and you're making this all up!!” The genius Koopaling quickly wanted to deny this unbelievable truth as he had hoped Lemmy was just joking around. ..Sadly for the group, this was not the case.
“I'm not! And one of us is already seeing red!” Lemmy frowned, pointing at a completely infuriated Bowser.
*Insert Jingle: “An Angry Bowser” (Mario Party 7)*
The Koopa King’s bright red pupils suddenly shrink and veins are noow visible around his already bulging eyes. ..Yep, Bowser, the mighty King of the Koopas, is completely in a monstrous fury, with the glass he was holding shattered completely into little sharp pieces in his hand!
“Grrrrrr-RRRRRRRRRNNNGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!”
“Y-Your Furiousness! Your blood pressure...! C-Calm yourself!!” Kamek began to panic uncontrollably, fearing for his life.
“I absolutely SWEAR; if there is anything that burns me up hotter than the sun by getting on my nerves, it is HIM! IT BURNS ME UP!!!” Bowser roared in uncontrollable fury as he breathed a devastating Fire Breath upwards before calming down. “UGHHHHHH... Why... How bad can my luck be...?”
Kamek, feeling the coast is clear for now, began to scratch his head for a moment. “I'm sorry if I don't know, Your Glumness... but sometimes you hear people talk about the whims of fate playing tricks on lives affecting our karma and... seriously, you don't believe in that old hogwash... right, my king?”
Bowser tilted his head and crossed his muscular arms, “Unghf... Of course, I don't... That Mario just isn't going to lay down and die... I can't rule the universe, let alone the Mushroom Kingdom, while he's always getting in my way...”
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Bowser’s Rage” (Mario Party 7)*
Just as things were bad for the Koopa King, a familiar voice echoed from a distance, in the form of Kammy Koopa. “My king, why so down?”
“Kammy!” “Mother!”
The Magikoopa matriarch flew downwards toward the group with Peach in tow, who noticed the still crystallized Makoto. “I'm sure this is will comfort your spirits back.”
Peach turned her sights to the depressed Koopa King. Bowser looked at Peach, and the mere sight of the Mushroom Princess was enough to put him back in a good mood! “Ohhh!” Kammy, you kidnapped Peach! Well done!” The Koopa King King then stomped forward to the two ladies with a reignited smile in his face. “You got here just in time when I was in a terrible mood 'til you came here. Hearing from Lemmy that the cat's out of the bag with Mario knowing what I'm doing here and all...”
Kammy looked Peach with a befuddled look on her face. “This is a joke, right? Did you youngsters really open the lock on the case?”
“Mm-hm.” The princess simply nodded.
“Uhm... Oh dear me. That would explain why His Highness was screaming..” Kammy frowned, knowing that she held Bowser’s furious voice from many, many miles away! Kamek waved his hand with a smile,” But that's over and done with, Mother!”
“What he said.” Bowser added just for the heck of it, then turned to Peach with a smile, “Since you're here, I'm feeling much better now! C'mon, say something.”
Peach could only frown as she spoke, “Bowser... You know I can't be happy around you no matter you do. How could you treat Makoto like that...? I know she lost her temper and took it out on Junior, but this is too much to bear... But that can't compare how heartless you are abusing the newborn Lumas you all kidnapped from Rosalina...!”
Just then, Bowser Jr. arrived on the scene aboard his own Koopa Klown Kar, “Hey, Papa! Thought I'd check out what's the commotion and, uhhh... Oh, HI, MAMA PEACH!”
“Uhhh... H-Hello, Junior...” Peach sweated a little, seeing the miscreacnt son of Bowser again.
“Hmhmhm..” Bowser headed to his throne with Kammy and Peach slowly following, “Listen, Princess... SOME things in the universe require sacrifice for the good things yet to come. The cute little twerps are an example of this fact for you to know. Besides, no matter how bad it seems to other people, good things CAN actually come out of it.” The Koopa King then sat down on his throne and finished his sentence with a snarky smile. “Hahaha... and anything that has ‘bad’ written all over it will actually spell ‘Bowser!’”
*DOING!!!*
“Um, yes, I've always had known that.” Peach quietly deadpanned.
Bowser turned to his son, who had just arrived. “So, Junior... What's going on?” Without hesitation, the Koopa Prince handed his father a picture. “I wanted to show you the picture I made of the new minion!”
Bowser took a look of the picture showing the new creature Bowser Jr. managed to create with his Magical Paintbrush. “..... Interesting.”
Bowser Jr. placed his left hand on his hip while holding the paintbrush like a staff and smiled in confidence, “Heehee! Mario's friends will be stopped in their tracks once they meet this guy.”
Iggy quickly grabbed the group’s attention all of a sudden, “'Ey, King Dad! The Galaxy Converter is ready to age Lumas pass 420 years!”
“Hehehehehe! Just watch for yourself how my plan works, Peach. Fire away, Iggy!” Bowser laughed before giving the order.
“You got it! Haha!” Iggy smiled before pulling the lever of the machine. Within moments, the cries of many Lumas and the newborns could be heard inside the machine, making Peach uncomfortable. After a few disturbing moments, four lights fly out of the Galaxy Converter's cannon into the stars beyond and explode like fireworks, forming larger galaxies.
*End Theme, Insert Theme “Shocking!” (Mario & Luigi: Dream Team)*
“Wow, those are BIG!” Lemmy gaped up at the results with awe. “I know, right?! GENIUS!” Iggy agreed with a happy smile. While the Koopas look at the beautiful display, Peach gets a heart-sinking feeling beneath her bosom.
Bowser returned his attention to the Mushroom Kingdom Princess, “That's right, Peach... all of this, my Galactic Koopa Empire, will take the whole Mushroom Universe... to be all OURS! Of course, a Cosmic Emperor will need *erhem!* a Cosmic Empress at his side.”
“Cosmic... Empress?” Peach wondered in confusion.
“Yeah! And what wouldn't complete a cosmic imperial wedding with some singing and dancing bridesmaids?! Except for that one, Makoto. She has deserved this or worse, otherwise, and will be an example to the Idols that they shouldn't resist my wishes...” Bowser smiled with a happy tone.
Peach simply responded with just these words, “Mario and Luigi will STOP you.”
Bowser simply smirked, not intimidated in the slightest, “Ha! You always say to me, Peachy-pie. Besides Makoto, I thought those plumbing fools will be my next decorations for my throne. Junior's creation will handle the plumb-scum's friends,” The Koopa King then cracked his knuckles, “...while dealing with the brothers once and for all. Kamek, Give our ‘Welcoming Committee’ this set of orders...”
“Yes, your Deteminedness!” Kamek saluted before hopping on his broom to meet up with the troops.

Meanwhile, back at the Observatory in Comet Form...
*Rosalina’s Comet Observatory (Comet Form) ~ Outer Space*
*Insert Theme: “Course Select” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
The Idols view the sight of many galaxies they pass by. Yukiho, Ami, Mami, Yayoi, Takane, Hibiki, and Haruka decide to pass the time by having some fun with the Lumas they rescued. While the fun ensued, Miki caught sight of a meteor shower in plain view. “Nnn? Ohhhh! Oiii~! Look everyone! A star shower!”
The rest of the Idols head over to Miki’s location and saw the astral bodies fly in all directions, yet the force of Rosalina’s magic would shield them from any direct strikes.
“Wooooowwwww...!” “Sugoiiiii...!” “It's so beautiful...” “How lovely!”
Iori looked at the meteor shower with stars in her eyes, “We could see so many of these in space wherever we go. You never see such a sight like these this often...”
“You said it, Iori-chan.” Yayoi smiled happily.
As the Idols continued to watch this once in a lifetime spectacle, a few meteors seem to swerve off course.
“Huh? Hey, something is up with those ones...” Chihaya responded, enough to make the other Idols take notice. Within moments the group watched as falling stars began to swerve into what looks to be a Black Hole. The mere sight made Ritsuko freeze. “... I-is that... a Black Hole?”

Polari this time answered the question, “Of course... As the destroyers of both light, life, stars, planets and suns, those are somewhat commonplace in parts of the universe...”
The young Producer began to feel uncomfortable at what the advisor of Rosalina just said, “’Somewhat commonplace’ doesn't make me feel better.”
“Well, how about this..." Benjamin stepped forward, to which Takane noticed, “Benjamin-san?”
*Insert Theme: “Silent Approach” (Project X Zone)*
Benjamin decided to once again show his wisdom in which an interdimensional being like him would say, “True, Black Holes are known to harm and kill you in the most gruesome ways as possible, consider the other possibility; there are Black Holes that considered to be dimensional rifts, entrances to dimensions with exits opposite to Black Holes- the White Hole."
Producer-san stood confused, “A White Hole?”, while Ritsuko was completely skeptical, “A White Hole? I heard of science fictional entertainment like that in movies and novels talk of that stuff, but we'd take no chances of trying to learn if that is possible.”
“Yes. And a possibility of that happening is completely remote.” Polari agreed, which was enough to make Benjamin raise an eyebrow. “..You seriously don't seem to get the idea of that there is something you know is sadly coming from doubt."”
Chihaya asked Haruka for a moment, “What does that mean?”, to which the ribbon wearing Idol shrugged, “No idea.” Yayoi, however... “I HAVE NO CLUE!!!” The puffy haired answered with a big grin, enough to make Iori tilt over. Within moments, the Comet Observatory, with the Starship Mario by the side, began to come near the Center of the Universe.

*Center of the Universe ~ Near the Main Entrance*

The Comet Observatory and the Starship Mario were nearing the Center of the Universe, which looked like it had a lot more galaxies than the last time Mario and Luigi visited before. While nearing the place, Benjamin took the time to speak to Hibiki. “So, yeah, Hibiki, I personally love specific colors of blue and green. I love them mixed even more if ya' know what I mean by looking into my eyes and recalling my previous form. And I LOVE your stage color, Hibiki, which leads me to that I also like to know you more."
Hibiki blushed at the statement and rubbed the back of her head, with Takane giggling, “Awww, c'mon, Benjamin-san! I hardly know how to talk to a guy who is interested in me because of my stage color, let alone a dimensional traveler!”
“Hahahaha!!” Benjamin laughed, but then, as if noticing something, the interdimensional being looked left and right. Without warning, the interdimensional being split into two, right in front of the Okinawan Idol. “Benjamin-san?” Just as Hibiki spoke, Benjamin teleported, right in front of her! “Gah! Where'd you go?!”
As if in a sudden movement, the two Benjamins appeared in front of Rosalina at the Observatory and Mario at the Starship Mario.
"STOP!” “HOLD IT!”
“Gasp!” “WHOA!!”

Both drivers of the two vessels managed to get themselves up from the sudden stop; Rosalina was the first. “What is the meaning of this, Benjamin? Whatever could be the problem?”
“Why'd you stop us?!” Ritsuko shouted, her glasses a little knocked loose and off angle.
Mario then took his turn as he readjusted his trademark red cap. “Holy Spaghetti Sauce-a, Benjamin! Why are-a we-a stopping? We're almost dere!”
“You better have a good reason.” Luigi frowned, joining his brother.
Both Benjamins look around with a cautious look and teleport between both transports into a singular being. As if knowing something was off, he began to shout in a very loud voice, “YOU IDIOTS THINK YOU'RE SO SNEAKY, DON'T YOU?!?!?! BUT YOU CAN'T FOOL ME!!! NOW SHOW YOURSELVES!!! I KNOW YOU'RE ALL OUT THERE!!!”
Silence stood in the black darkness of space, but then...
*Insert Sound Effect: “Electricity”*
A lone Airship belonging to one of Bowser’s troops materializes out of nowhere!
*Insert Theme: “Attack of the Airships” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
Within moments of the first Airship appearing, more Airships materialize in all different directions, surrounding the two vessels! The Idols all gasp at the sight of the ships!
“Are those... sea ships? With helicopter propellers?! Where did they come from?!” Ritsuko spoke in shock, flustered at how many airships are around.
Benjamin warped to her position to answer her question, “Airships. From Bowser's Aerial Navy.”
Lubba ran to the two super brothers in a panic, “Captains! We have a dire situation!”
Mario looked in all directions in shock, “Bowsa's Airships! Dis looks baaaad...”
Luigi began to wonder in panic, “How'd da Airships get here without us-a seeing dem?!”
The Benjamin Duplicate warps in to explain, “Cloaking Devices. It's seems Iggy's outfitted them each with SCCDs. I shouldn't have underestimated the ingenuity of that little *Coin*..." (Note: Mario's dimension couldn't use curse words, so everyone hears the coin sound instead)
Mario stood confused from the censoring sound, “Hm? Did you say something?” The interdimensional being stood wide eyed, this time failing to find a way to respond.
Not intimidated by the threat whatsoever, Wario cracked his knuckles, itching for a fight. “Who cares what he said, these Koopas are gonna' get shellshocked.” ..However, Waluigi was not as excited.
“'EY! Behind us! Look!” The long limbed rival shouted as she spotted Airships appearing from the rear.
“WHOA!” The startled Yoshi jumped with a jolt. Birdo looked at all her surroundings, “Behind and in front. Left and right... Above and even below!”
Daisy, place herself in a defense position, shouted out, “There's too many of them, Mario! We're surrounded!” The red plumber nodded looking at the armada of Airships, “...Dis must-a be his-a welcomin'-a party...”
Luigi, feeling like he noticed something within the airships, pulls out a pair of binoculars from his overalls pocket and took a look. His eyes began to pop out metaphorically from the lens at the sight of what he just saw, “Big Bro! DOOM-A-SHIP APPROACHING!”
A couple of airships each move to the sides to let the Doomship proceed. The enormous sight of the vessel was nothing like what all the Idols have seen thus far.
“YOW! Look at THAT ship!” Miki shouted pointing at the mentioned vessel. Iori too can’t take her eyes off as well, “It's bigger than the rest of the other ships!”
Benjaim took the time the answer the two Idols’ question, “That's one of the Koopa Troop Air Navy's vanguard vessels! A Doomship!"
“Oh, great..” Yumeko frowned at the result, while Yukiho began to feel scared, “D-D-D... Doomship...?”
Ryou, knowing Makoto‘s current situation, decides to step into the defense in her stead with an ensuring tone, “Don't worry, you two. I'll do my best to protect you and everyone here.”
“Wh-what's gotten into you all of a sudden, Ryou!? Acting like a prince in shining armor!” Yumeko went into a complete tsundere fit over the sight of Ryou’s determination, while Yukiho simply just blushed, “Ryou-chan...”
“We're surrounded! What are going to do?!” Hibiki shouted in panic.

A lone figure flies to the Doomship’s bow. Pulling out a megaphone, he cleared his throat for testing, before calling out, “Attention, Mario and friends...!”
“Huh? Who's that?” Yoshi wondered, not recalling the voice. However, Mario and Luigi DID recognize the voice. “Dat voice...” Mario started.
“Mario, I think-a dat'sa Corporal-a Paraplonk.” Luigi answered to his older brother, to which he wondered, “Hey, isn't-a he-a one of dhose three guys...?”
Corporal Paraplonk called out from the bow of the Doomship, “It is I, Corporal Paraplonk of Bowser's "Elite Three!" If you have noticed, we have you surrounded and we're armed to the teeth! His Awesomeness, the supreme King Bowser, has instructed us that you must heed our demands or we'll use force if you refuse. Resist and we'll have no other choice but to counterattack at full might! This is NOT a trap!”
“’ His awesomeness?’” Ai questioned in concern, while Takane angrily frowned, “Arrogant brute...”
Mario shrugged, knowing from experience. “Hmph... I know a trap when I-a know one.”
Paraplonk then continued his message. “Our first demand is that you admit your submission! Do not resist and we shall not counterattack! Repeat, do not resist and we shall not counterattack!”
Mario began to scratch his chin, thinking things over, “"So the only choice we have is to comply. If we don't, we'll have problems.", while Luigi looked at his brother, “Mario?”
Somehow having a plan that is not told at the moment, the Benjamin clone turned to Mario, “"Here, Mario. Play along.” With that, the clone transformed into a megaphone, with which the plumber hero picked up and turned on.
*Insert Sound Effect: “Megaphone Ring”*
“Uhm-a... It'sa me, Mario. Okey-dokey, dhen, We'll'a comply with-a you for da time-being as-a long as-a da instructions are agreeable...”
Ritsuko and Iori were aghast at the hero’s reaction, while the Corporal remained silent.
“What?! Why did he say that!?” Iori became flabberghasted to think straight, while Ritsuko was not amused. “What is the meaning of this?”
Benjamin turned to the two with a serious expression. “Hey, Mario and my other self know what they’re doing. You want your friends and you bombarded by a storm of Bullet Bills and Crystill Bills, wave after wave and the possible destruction of our only transports?"
Seeing the truth behind this decision, Producer –san sighed, “I'm afraid Benjamin-san's got a point.”
Seeing that this argument was lost, Ritsuko frowned as she looked at the pretty rich girl, “... Point taken, right, Iori-san...?”
“... R-Right...” Iori sighed, knowing where this scenario might be going.
Satisfied with the reaction, Paraplonk called out on the megaphone, “Good. Thank you very much. The King instructed us to take you to him, your next step is to follow this Doomship. Recall our early warning, Mario. Follow us.” And with that, the Doomship turned directions towards the center.

Keeping a calm focus, Mario decided, “Well, let's-a go..”
Luigi, feeling his legs quivering, asked his brother, “Mario? This isn't a trap, right?”
Mario tilted his head, “Maybe, it'll probably be like that one time...” as the Comet Observatory and the Starship Mario follow the Doomship, still surrounded by Airships whose crew members were watching their every move...

Whoa, my... this is one sticky situation Mario and the Idols have landed themselves into, which cannot be easily solved by simply duking it out! What did Mario recall just now, and will it be relevant to getting himself, his team, and the Idols out of this predicament, as well as rescuing Peach and Makoto?
