CrystalPhoenixBlader here, bringing another chapter to the fanfic! Man, was Geodusis quite a doozy, but with the battle over with, let’s continue the story, shall we? After all, we still have the battle with Bowser in this galactic quadrant still out there! So, case in point, I do not own any of the Mario characters or the iDOLMASTER characters; the Mario characters belong to Nintendo and the iDOLMASTER characters belong to Namco Bandai. So, with that out of the way and all, let’s return to the intergalactic mission!

Chapter 42
The Battle for the Universe Part 5: Mario and Luigi vs. Bowser Once Again!
*Center of the Universe ~ Bowser’s Moon*
*Insert Theme: “Bowser, Almighty Koopa King” (Super Mario Galaxy 2)*
While the participants were busy with the dreaded Geodusis, Mario and Luigi were already busy fending off Bowser’s attacks, one by one. Bowser had already started off with his trademark Whirling Fortress attack, in which the big brute withdrew into the large spiky shell and began to spin at the brothers, in which they quickly dodged. The brothers quickly pull out Fire Flowers out of their pockets to quickly change to their Fire forms before firing a flurry of red and green fireballs.
“Grrrr.... YOU TWO REALLY ARE THE MOST ANNOYING BROTHERS EVER!!” Bowser snarled, but then heard a noise from Bowser Jr.’s moon. Mario quickly turned his attention to where it came from, only to see the large Medusa like figure appear. “Mama mia! What is dat?!”
Bowser turned to the sight of the new creature and gave out an evil chuckle. “He's much huger than expected... That thing you see is our new minion, courtesy of Junior's artistic skill, Geodusus... designed to take care of your friends while the boy bags some Idols!”
“Wh-What's it doing?!” Luigi’s gaze widened as the creature performed its Crystallization attack.
“ERRRRRRRRRRRR... BRRAAAAAAAAAAAAUGHHHHHH!!!!!”
“EEEYOW, dat's-a huge!!!” Luigi jumped in shock with his hat in the air as he and his older brother witness the attack. The scenario then places the Koopa King in deep thought as the beam of light blazes across the galaxy.
“Junior... you created a monster... an awesomely powerful one! I believe the future of the Royal Koopa Family Line really is in good hands...as if that time when you made that proclamation back at Isle Delfino after we lost to that plumbing pasta slurper wasn’t enough.. THIS here proves how serious and sincere you were going to go!”
As the Koopa King ended his thought with a smile, he realized his adversaries were too distracted by the sudden battle between the contestants and Geodusus. Seizing the opportunity, the Koopa King pulled hammers out of the so-called Hammerspace and shouted out. “HEY! Ever heard, ‘Distractions kill’?”
Fortunately, Mario noticed and dodged the attack, as well as grab the thrown hammer. “Woo!” The red plumber cried as he swung the heavy mallet, but the Koops King managed to catch the attack with his claw. “What??” Mario gasped as he struggled to pull the hammer away.
“Not this time, Mario! I'll flatten you into a red plumber pancake here and now!” Bowser grinned as he began to ready an attack on the heroic plumber. However, that left the Koopa King wide open as Luigi jumped in on the attack. “Hooyah!”
“Hmn?!” Bowser turned a little too late as Luigi slammed his hammer on Bowser’s head, causing him to lose grip on the hammer Mario was holding, as well as the one HE is holding!
*Insert Sound Effect: “Fred Drops the Ball” (The Flintstones)* (Hey, why not try some good old Hanna Barbera sounds for good measure?)
“OWWWWW!” Bowser yelped as he began to stagger back and clutch his head in utter pain and with stars over his head. “Arrrrghh...!”
*Insert Sound Effect: “Birds Chirping”* (No other sound will do with stars over your head!)
Regaining the grip of the hammer, Mario began to pull back for a swing. “Heeeee...” With a glint in his blue eye, the red plumber whacked the Koopa King in the stomach with his might. “YAHHHH!!!”
“UWOOOOOOGHH!!” Bowser keeled over and landed on his knees, clutching where he was hit. HThe wind was pretty much knocked right out of him, as he was breathing hard out of exhaustion. Bowser Jr. who realized from within the range of his moon of his father once again backed into a corner, is speeding quickly to his side.
“Ungh... GRRRAAAAAAAAAUGHH!!! NOW YOU'RE GONNA' PAY FOR THAT!” Bowser roared angrily before encasing himself in a large boulder and rolled right at the brothers.
“Ugh... haven’t we-a seen dat attack before? Ready, Luigi?” Mario turned towards his brother.
“Oh yeah!” Luigi happily raised his fist as the two brothers eyed the Bowser boulder’s movement. With a glint of his eye, Mario perfomrd the Galaxy Spin at the right time to break the boulder and send the startled Koopa King on his back. Luigi then seized the initiative to perfom his own Galaxy Spin to send the Koopa King spiraling all over, passing to Mario, who answered with his own spin.
“Hey! Stop it, you two mustached-- OW!” Bowser yelped with his eyes spinning as well as he was being used as a large ping pong ball.
“POPPA!!!” Bowser Jr. cried out as his Koopa Klown Kar began to come closer.
“Junior?! Wha..what are you doing here? I thought you were taking care of our guests!!” Bowser looked at his son from his upended view.
“Geodusus can take care of our guests on itsown. The Paratroopas can take care of the rest! But while I’M here, I’m helping you out, Poppa!” Bowser Jr. gave his reasons, wheich were more than adequate enough.
“Wow... that’s using your noodle!” Bowser smiled as he accepted his son’s help. Mario and Luigi simoky stand and brace themselves.
“Junia too? But what-a happened to da Idols?” Mario asked in shock.
“Sigh... Geodusus was overzealous in the attack that it froze the Idols as well as your pals. Don’t bother trying to save them ‘cause once it’s done, the place will be lined up with the statues of your pals! ..As for the Idols.. well, I might need to see Kammy of a counter-curse to reverse that blunder after dealing with you...” Bowser Jr. scratched his head.
“..Wow... THAT was not part of the plan... but at least the Idols weren’t harmed... but anyway, let’s BOTH teach those meddling plumb scum a lesson ..ONCE AND FOR ALL!! ..Ow.. after some recuperation..” Bowser roared before realizing that he can’t attack due to the injuries.
“Oh jeez.. I’ll help ya, Poppa!” Bowser went to heal his father, prompting the two brothers to attack. However, the mischievous little Koopa saw the two plumber heroes rush and began to shoot Crystill Bills right at the duo.
“Mama Mia!!” Mario cried out as he jumped and dodged the attacks.
“Hold still or I'LL MAKE YOU HOLD STILL!” Bowser Jr. shouted while still firing the newly created Bullet Bills.
“Not-a gonna happen!!” Luigi shouted out after bouncing off a Crystill Bill and on Bowser Jr.’s head.
“YOWCH!!! Meanie!” Bowser Jr. flinched and quickly regained control of his Koopa Klown Kar and threw a chunk of meat into his father’s mouth.
“Gulp... thanks, Junior! I feel better now!” Bowser smiled before quickly performing another Whirling Fortress attack, to which Mario and Luigi dodged with a backflip. Taking action, Mario pulled out two Fire Flowers and threw one to Luigi, transforming the both of the heroic duo into Fire Mario and Fire Luigi!
*Insert Sound Effect: “Power Up!” (Super Mario Bros. series)*
Dodging the Koopa King’s sharp claws, the fired up duo began to conjure and fire a powerful flurry of red and green fireballs till the mighty tyrant was well cooked in the face.
“GRRROOOWWWRRR... you crazy plumbing pyromaniacs! Fine! You want fire? THEN HERE’S FIRE!!!” Bowser growled before unleashing his trademark Fire Breath attack. Mario and Luigi barely dodged the searing flames, but the attack grazed their shirt sleeves a bit... enough to make the duo lose their fire powers.
*Insert Sound Effect: “Pipe / Power Down” (Super Mario Bros. series)*
While Bowser was recovering from the fiery flurry, the mischievous Bowser Jr. seized his chance to pull out his Magical Paintbrush to create and procure a Mega Mushroom from a paint portal into another paint puddle to be absorbed.
“Grow, Papa, grow!” Bowser Jr. shouted out as he launched the paint creation on his father.
“Junior?” Bowser turned to his turned, only to be splashed with the paint creation.
*Insert Sound Effect: “Splash!”*
“Wha..?” Bowser was slightly irritated, but the anger quickly subsided as his body began to become larger. Mario and Luigi, who had witnessed the Koopa King become large before, however it was Kamek and not his son who did the work before, quickly deadpanned, “Not again...”
*End Theme*
“UUUWOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH! I'm huge! It was a little messy and there's not a blot of paint on me anywhere, but who cares? I'm large! And it feels so good! Thanks again, my son.” Bowser, now in the form of Giant Bowser once more, roared happily.
“It was nuthin', Papa!” Bowser Jr. smiled, happily rubbing the back of his head.
*Insert Theme: “Size up your Enemy” (Mario and Luigi: Dream Team)*
The enlarged Koopa King, happy to be large and in charge again, turned to the brothers with an evil grin. “And now, to turn you plumbing parasites into Christmas-colored mush... Gwa hahahahahah...!”
“Wait... didn’t-a Yukiho tell-a me her birthday was-a around Christmas Eve?” Luigi picked a bad time to be reminded of something irrelevant to the fight, enough to make his older twin brother press his gloved palm on his face.
“And-a why are you-a thinking of-a dat now?” Mario frowned, while Bowser just overheard out of curiosity. “Huh, the more you know about the Idols....but enough about them for now.. IT’S SHOWDOWN TIME!!”
“Let’s-a go!!” “Okay!” The two brothers cry out ready for battle. Dodging the Crystill Biills fired by Bowser Jr., the two super brothers jumped left and right to evade the attacks. Mario seized the opportunity to land on the back of one of the Crystill Bills without detonating it and rode on it to get to the proper range before hopping off and using the hammer to knock it towards the Koopa Klown Kar.
“H..HEY!! Don’t use our new Crystill Bills like that!!” Bowser Jr. cried before pressing a button to summon a large mechanical arm to attempt to swat the brothers out of the sky. “Here’s something for you!!”
“No thank you!” Luigi cried out as he performed a hand flip on the arm, seeing that the dance lessons also did wonders to his dexterity. With a spiraling flip, the green clad plumber knocked Crystill Bill towards the Koopa Klown Kar with his hammer while avoiding Bowser’s flames. Mario, meanwhile, decides to distract the Koopa King by luring the Crystill Bills towards his claws to freeze them. Normally the Crystill Bills would freeze anything in hits, but in Giant Bowser’s case, they have little effect.
“Ack! No! One more hit and the controls will freeze!” Bowser Jr. cried out as he prepared another mechanical arm to double the trouble.
“In that case, I’d better turn up the heat!” Bowser took the chance to create a flaming rainstorm that began to pour over the brothers. Mario, recalling how he prepared for the party before heading to 765 Pro’s talent agency with Luigi and Yoshi, began to dodge the attacks with agile reflexes from backflips to somersaults to dodge the attacks before reaching for Luigi’s spare hand. With the help of his brother, the green hero slams a hard hit into Bowser Jr.'s Koopa Klown Kar, sending the Koopa Prince out of the battlefield.
“No way!! I’m blasting off again!!!!” Bowser Jr. cried out as he and his Koopa Klown Kar disappear into the stars.
*Ding!* (Man, can’t get enough of that Team Rocket defat line either!)
The very defeat of his son was enough to enrage the Koopa King into quickly grabbing Luigi’s leg. “THAT DID IT! I’ll smoosh you like the green pea you are!!” However, Mario stomped on the Koopa King’s claw to free his brother. Turning completely desperate, Bowser quickly decides to resort to firing larger fireballs from his breath into the air and, with his magic and his leftover fireballs from the start, he merges the fireballs to make one meteor-sized ball of fire with much destructive force.
“It's Game Over for you, Mario Brothers! PREPARE FOR OBLIVION!” Bowser roared as he hurled the devastating flame orb into the red moon, intent on finally doing away with the two heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom. The Koopa King poured so much energy into the attack, he reverts to his normal size to be able to hurl it.
With the situation turning completely desperate, Luma flies out from under Mario's hat and points to some yellow Lumas that change into Launch Stars.
“Hey-a Luigi, let’s-a get outta here!!” Mario cried out as the two brothers barely make it to the Launch Stars and fly off before the giant fireball completely destroys the red moon.
*KABOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!*

*Center of the Universe ~ Random Moon Debris*
After the Red Moon's destruction, a tired Bowser hovered in midair looking around if he managed to actually beat the Mario brothers.
“Heh... looks like those plumbing dillweeds have finally bit the dust...” Bowser smiled, but just as he was about to laugh, Mario and Luigi fly out of nowhere toward him, each of the two heroes readying a lower hook punch!
*Insert Theme: “Gym Leader’s Last Pokémon” (Pokémon: Black and White)*
“Heeeee...” The two super brothers ready together two colored energies of bright red and green into their fist, aimed exactly on Bowser’s forehead. “WHAT?!” Bowser turned right in the brothers’ direction, a tad too late as Mario and Luigi landed their powered Low Hook Punches together on the Koopa King’s noggin.
“YAAAAAHHHH!!!!” *POW!!!*
“NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” The Koopa King screamed as he was knocked away. The Mario Bros. high five in response to their latest victory.
“Oh, yeah!” Mario smiled while Luigi gave a thumbs up, “Chalk anotha one up for da Mario Bros.!”
Luma gets in between their high-five and giggles,using its power to help the brothers descend comfortably back to the Throne Room without problems.
“Hey-a Luigi, I wonda if da Idols and da rest of da group will be okay with-a dat snake-a haired thing dere?” Mario asked his brother in wonder concerning Geodusus’ appearance.
“Something-a tells me they’ll be-a alright. Besides, we-a still havta get Makoto out of that crystal.” Luigi pointed out.
“Yeah... and dis-a time, you’ll-a do da rescuin’, along with-a Yukiho and-a Ryou! We just-a need to find da way to get-a rid of dat forcefield.” Mario smiled, making a his younger twin brother slightly nervous of when his brother overheard the gentle conversation Luigi had with Yukiho earlier but shrugged it off for another time. “Yeah!” Luigi smiledas the duo descended safely to the throne room.

But as for Bowser...

Bowser was slowly regaining himself from the coordinated blow to the head Mario and Luigi left on him.
“Ahhh... Words can NEVER express out loud how much I hate you guys!” The angry Koopa King was quick to curse the heroic brothers, but then realized that he was almost ready to fall since he was nearing too close to one of the planets in the Center of the Universe. “Oh... and curse you, gravity... AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
*Thud!*
The mighty King of the Koopas landed headfirst on the ground. “Owww....”

That’s the end of another chapter! Whew, was I pressed for time with this one! But anyway, with the battles with Geodusus and Bowser done, the battle of the universe is nearing its conclusion! But is Bowser REALLY finished? If not, what last resort would he have now? And will Makoto be saved? Find out next chapter!
..This is really turning into one long arc. I mean, how many chapters has it been since the transition from the Isle Delfino arc? Thirteen? Wow.... just wow... I hope I get this arc done soon...

“And-a why are you-a thinking of-a dat now?” Mario frowned, while Bowser just overheard out of curiosity. “Huh, the more you know about the Idols....but enough about them for now.. IT’S SHOWDOWN TIME!!”
“Let’s-a go!!” “Okay!” The two brothers cry out ready for battle. Dodging the Crystill Biills fired by Bowser Jr., the two super brothers jumped left and right to evade the attacks. Mario seized the opportunity to land on the back of one of the Crystill Bills without detonating it and rode on it to get to the proper range before hopping off and using the hammer to knock it towards the Koopa Klown Kar.
“H..HEY!! Don’t use our new Crystill Bills like that!!” Bowser Jr. cried before pressing a button to summon a large mechanical arm to attempt to swat the brothers out of the sky. “Here’s something for you!!”
“No thank you!” Luigi cried out as he performed a hand flip on the arm, seeing that the dance lessons also did wonders to his dexterity. With a spiraling flip, the green clad plumber knocked Crystill Bill towards the Koopa Klown Kar with his hammer while avoiding Bowser’s flames. Mario, meanwhile, decides to distract the Koopa King by luring the Crystill Bills towards his claws to freeze them. Normally the Crystill Bills would freeze anything in hits, but in Giant Bowser’s case, they have little effect.
“Ack! No! One more hit and the controls will freeze!” Bowser Jr. cried out as he prepared another mechanical arm to double the trouble.
“In that case, I’d better turn up the heat!” Bowser took the chance to create a flaming rainstorm that began to pour over the brothers. Mario, recalling how he prepared for the party before heading to 765 Pro’s talent agency with Luigi and Yoshi, began to dodge the attacks with agile reflexes from backflips to somersaults to dodge the attacks before reaching for Luigi’s spare hand. With the help of his brother, the green hero slams a hard hit into Bowser Jr.'s Koopa Klown Kar, sending the Koopa Prince out of the battlefield.
“No way!! I’m blasting off again!!!!” Bowser Jr. cried out as he and his Koopa Klown Kar disappear into the stars.
*Ding!* (Man, can’t get enough of that Team Rocket defat line either!)
The very defeat of his son was enough to enrage the Koopa King into quickly grabbing Luigi’s leg. “THAT DID IT! I’ll smoosh you like the green pea you are!!” However, Mario stomped on the Koopa King’s claw to free his brother. Turning completely desperate, Bowser quickly decides to resort to firing larger fireballs from his breath into the air and, with his magic and his leftover fireballs from the start, he merges the fireballs to make one meteor-sized ball of fire with much destructive force.
“It's Game Over for you, Mario Brothers! PREPARE FOR OBLIVION!” Bowser roared as he hurled the devastating flame orb into the red moon, intent on finally doing away with the two heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom. The Koopa King poured so much energy into the attack, he reverts to his normal size to be able to hurl it.
With the situation turning completely desperate, Luma flies out from under Mario's hat and points to some yellow Lumas that change into Launch Stars.
“Hey-a Luigi, let’s-a get outta here!!” Mario cried out as the two brothers barely make it to the Launch Stars and fly off before the giant fireball completely destroys the red moon.

After the Red Moon's destruction, a tired Bowser hovered in midair looking around if he managed to actually beat the Mario brothers.
“Heh... looks like those plumbing dillweeds have finally bit the dust...” Bowser smiled, but just as he was about to laugh, Mario and Luigi fly out of nowhere toward him, each of the two heroes readying a lower hook punch!
*Insert Theme: “Gym Leader’s Last Pokémon” (Pokémon: Black and White)*
“Heeeee...” The two super brothers ready together two colored energies of bright red and green into their fist, aimed exactly on Bowser’s forehead. “WHAT?!” Bowser turned right in the brothers’ direction, a tad too late as Mario and Luigi landed their powered Low Hook Punches together on the Koopa King’s noggin.
“YAAAAAHHHH!!!!” *POW!!!*
“NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” The Koopa King screamed as he was knocked away. The Mario Bros. high five in response to their latest victory.
“Oh, yeah!” Mario smiled while Luigi gave a thumbs up, “Chalk anotha one up for da Mario Bros.!”
Luma gets in between their high-five and giggles,using its power to help the brothers descend comfortably back to the Throne Room without problems.
“Hey-a Luigi, I wonda if da Idols and da rest of da group will be okay with-a dat snake-a haired thing dere?” Mario asked his brother in wonder concerning Geodusus’ appearance.
“Something-a tells me they’ll be-a alright. Besides, we-a still havta get Makoto out of that crystal.” Luigi pointed out.
“Yeah... and dis-a time, you’ll-a do da rescuin’, along with-a Yukiho and-a Ryou! We just-a need to find da way to get-a rid of dat forcefield.” Mario smiled, making a his younger twin brother slightly nervous of when his brother overheard the gentle conversation Luigi had with Yukiho earlier but shrugged it off for another time. “Yeah!” Luigi smiledas the duo descended safely to the throne room.

Bowser was slowly regaining himself from the coordinated blow to the head Mario and Luigi left on him.
“Ahhh... Words can NEVER express out loud how much I hate you guys!” The angry Koopa King was quick to curse the heroic brothers, but then realized that he was almost ready to fall since he was nearing too close to one of the planets in the Center of the Universe. “Oh... and curse you, gravity... AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
*Thud!*
The mighty King of the Koopas landed headfirst on the ground. “Owww....”

That’s the end of another chapter! Whew, was I pressed for time with this one! But anyway, with the battles with Geodusus and Bowser done, the battle of the universe is nearing its conclusion! But is Bowser REALLY finished? If not, what last resort would he have now? And will Makoto be saved? Find out next chapter!
..This is really turning into one long arc. I mean, how many chapters has it been since the transition from the Isle Delfino arc? Thirteen? Wow.... just wow... I hope I get this arc done soon...
