Description
CrystalPhoenixBlader here, once again bringing another chapter to the fanfic! It’s about time to meet the Chief of the Yoshis in the arc, which meets it’s close to begin the part! So stay tuned so you’ll see what’s next! Oh yeah, disclaimer time. I do not own any of the Mario characters or the iDOLMASTER characters; the Mario characters belong to Nintendo and the iDOLMASTER characters belong to Namco Bandai. In addition, the characters “Reiji Arisu” and “Xiaomu” belong to Namco Bandai and Monolift Soft. Also, the character “Boshi” belongs to Nintendo and Square Enix. With all that aside, let’s bloom back into the action!

Chapter 49
The Legend of the Yoshis’ Odyssey; Everything Coming Together
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Yoshi Village*
*Insert Theme: “The Yoshi Village” (Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time)*
The group of Team Mario, the 765 Pro and 876 Pro Idols, including their attendant Kotori Otanashii, the Shinra agents, Reiji Arisu and Xiaomu, as well as Donkey Kong and Benjamin, after being led by a Light Blue Yoshi and a Yellow Yoshi, safely arrive at Yoshi Village. True to its name, many Yoshis of many different colors live very peaceful lives to the fullest. The buildings were topped with leaves and berries, especially the local shop run by a Blue Yoshi that sells different fruit in exchange for the berries that line up the village. The Idols were awed by the sight of how sophisticated the Yoshi folk are.
*End Theme*
All of a sudden, a lone spotted dog with duck lips and a small red ball at the end of his tail began to run toward the group, happily beginning to bark. “Wuff wuff wuff!”
“KYAAAAAAA!!!” Yukiho, seeing the canine, panicked and hid behind Makoto due to her strong fear of dogs, but in a sudden twist, the canine was not running towards the bob haired Idol, but towards Yoshi’s arms. “Wu-wuff! Wuff wuff wuff!”
*Insert Theme: “Flower Field” (Yoshi Touch and Go) (Super Smash Bros. Brawl Version)*
“Hehey, it's Poochy! How you doin', old friend!?” Yoshi happily smiled as the dog hopped on his old masters hands and gave him a lick. “Haha! Hey, cut it out, Poochy!”
"Seems Poochy said, 'Welcome Home' to you, Yoshi." Benjamin smiled as the Idols... excluding the frightened Yukiho, went for a closer look of the dog.
“Oh my goodness...!” Iori was wowed by the cuteness of the beloved hound, as was Takane. “What a cute doggy...” The Silver Queen had a slight nosebleed over the powerful cuteness of the situation, but when it came to Kotori...
“Ubububububububu...” Kotori was overwhelmed by the cuteness as blood began to gush down from her nose! The sight of the sudden blood spill was enough to unnerve Xiaomu as she asked in nervous concern. “Uh... Kotori-san? You okay?” The Sage Fox didn’t get a clear answer as the attendant was too mesmerized in the cuteness to answer Xiaomu’s question... or even notice that her blood was flowing down to the ground by way of her arms!
“O-Onegai, L... Leave me alone...” Yukiho quietly pleaded that Poochy would not turn its attention to her, though her cowering was enough for Reiji to notice as he scratched his with one thought in mind. “What's gotten into her...?” (Apparently, Reiji doesn’t know of Yukiho’s cynophobia either, but since he’s too interested to stop Saya from whatever she’s planning, let’s just leave it at that...)
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Story Music Box” (Yoshi’s Island)*
“Poochy! Did you come out here?” An old male voice called out from nearby. Within moments, a pink Yoshi wearing an apron and an elderly Yoshi who seemed chubbier than the rest and wore a headband walked over to the group. The pink Yoshi recognizes the Yoshi in the group without batting an eyelash. “Oh, HEY!”
“Mom! Dad!” The green bipedal gleefully ran to his parents with Poochy behind him. “Hahaha! Dad, Mom, it's good to see you again!”
“It's wonderful to see you again, too, Yoshi-bubu.” Yoshi’s mother smiled as she hugged her beloved son.
“Welcome home, son... Did you bring the visitors for this ‘Mario Party?’ The large chieftain smiled as he asked his brave son, to which Yoshi happily answered. “Sure did!”
“So that's Yoshi's papa...” Iori spoke as she looked at Yoshi’s wise father, then thought for a moment. “He's a little chubbier than I imagined... Is that headband his proof of leadership?”
Peach then walked forward and said hello to the chief in formal fashion. “Greetings, Chief Yoshi.”
The elder Yoshi smiled as he looked at the sovereign princess and the Idols. “Ahhh, Princess Peach. It's good to see you after some time. And I welcome you guests, most of all- the Idols I've heard about from my son, to Yoshi's Island!”
Mario walked over to the chieftain with Luigi and introduces himself as he offers his hand in a form of handshake. “Hello dere, name's-a Mario!”
“And I am his brutha' Luigi!” The green plumber brother happily introduced himself as well. The mere sight of the two brothers was enough for the chief to raise an eyebrow. “Mario? Luigi? Hmmmmm...”
*End Theme*
The Mario Bros. looked a little sad, wondering if they somehow made an old memory come up in the elder Yoshi’s mind. Iori looked at Chief Yoshi and wondered if he was alright. “Ano... Yoshi-sama?”
Chief Yoshi began to reach deep into his memories until he remembered of two babies from long ago wearing the same hats and having the same noses, then he place two and two together in a strong realization of who the babies are now. Without warning, the chieftain hugged the two brothers. “HOOHOOHOOHOOOOO! Mario! Luigi! It's you! It's really you! I've been wondering why this was called a ‘Mario Party’, now I know why! The hats and the noses gave it away!” The chieftain let go of the brothers as he hopped happily. “It's super-happy good to you both again after such a long, long time!”
“Wait, wha--?” Mario’s jaw dropped as he looked at his brother, who was equally as confused. “E-Excuse me?”
Makoto stood a little dumbfounded as she looked at the Yoshi chieftain and spoke. “Yoshi-taishou, did you just say you knew them a very long time ago?!” Yoshi was just equally as surprised how his father knew of Mario and Luigi. “Dad?!”
Chief Yoshi answered Makoto’s question with a nod and a smile. “Mmhmgh! Ever since they were babies, of course!” Everyone was amazed at the thought, though Mario and Luigi still had question marks over their heads. Benjamin smirked happily, while Xiaomu eagerly asked. “If you don’t mind me asking, how DID you meet Mario and Luigi?” Reiji decided to hold off what punishment he had for his happy go lucky partner as he too was interested how the Yoshi met the brothers.
*Insert Theme: “Yoshi Start Demo” (Yoshi’s Island)*
The Yoshi chieftain closes his eyes as he becomes nostalgic to the memories of the day he found Baby Mario and the adventure he and his old friends had long ago.. “I could never forget the time of reason how I became the Village Chief...”
*FLASHBACK*
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Years Ago..*
*Insert Sound Effect: “Chime”*
(Chief Yoshi) “Back when I young and lively with a bright green coat, I was having such wonderful walk through the island's forests and jungles on such a lovely day, until something fell on my head and onto my back. There something wrapped in white on me and a head popped out. It was a baby, a human baby! With a big round nose and a red hat with an "M" on it! We Yoshis never had contact with humans before and this was the first, yet adorable, human I had ever met in my life! Another thing fell on me, it was a map that carried by a stork who was delivering this baby, with directions to the house. I saw the names ‘Mario and Luigi’ written on the map... but then I looked around and wondered, ‘Where's the other baby?’ I gathered my rainbow of friends, your mother being one of them, son, to help assist me in finding the poor baby's brother and they agreed to help. A long adventurous journey began for all of us. We traveled through fields, forests, jungles, caves, rivers and mountains through the adventure and fought many bad guys, a group of baddies called Toadies were so dead set on taking Baby Mario off our backs and I ended being the one saving the wailing infant. I even came across the one in charge of them, a Magikoopa named Kamek, he demanded numerous times to hand the baby over to him, but I refused since I suspected he has kidnapped Baby Luigi. He sent giant monsters after us, but we always won the fights! We then went inside a huge castle on the island's volcanic region and cornered Kamek. There I met my journey's biggest challenge, the naughty and rough bully prince, Bowser Koopa. Baby Bowser kicked Baby Mario off my back a few times, he started riding roughly like I was a bucking bronco, but I managed to save Mario and boot Baby Bowser off me! Kamek turned the little bully into a giant, destroying the castle in his temper tantrum, and with a large red egg at my disposal, I beat the big baby for good! Kamek fled with his little master in tow and I saved the stork and Baby Luigi, whom I reunited with Baby Mario. The stork left after we said our good-byes and the other Yoshis recognized our feats and accomplishment, I was named Chief for life and led our people fairly and wisely for decades.”
*END FLASHBACK*
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Present Day*
*Insert Sound Effect: “Chime”*

The old Yoshi, after recalling the adventure he had, turned to his son. “Thus, afterwards I married your mother and had you.” Yoshi was speechless. Everyone, with the exception of Wario and Waluigi who snoozed through the whole flashback, was also left speechless of the elder Yoshi’s courage and a possibility that this amazing trait was passed to his son.
Meanwhile....
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Bowser’s Castle Ruins*
*Insert Theme: “Castle” (Yoshi’s Island DS)*
Bowser, Bowser Jr., Kamek, and Kammy arrive to the quiet remnants of the castle that the Koopa King once lived in as a prince. Ever since that fateful battle between Bowser, made giant by Kamek’s magic, and Chief Yoshi years ago, the castle was left in complete utter disrepair, completely abandoned for many years till now.
“So... this is where you used to live when you were little, Papa?” The mischievous Koopa princed asked his father, who felt a little nostalgic and sad. “Ahh, yes. My old childhood abode! ... ... ...In absolute ruins.”
The remnants of the castle had seen gradual decay due to rust and moss as a single chipped brick chipped off and nearly hit Kammy on the head, leaving dust to hurt her sinuses. Kamek took a quiet look around the severely damaged site and frowned. “We've left it like this for so long, everything is falling apart, covered in dust and moss... and the lava is gone dry and hard.” The Magikoopa responded while pointing at the obsidian mass created from the cooled up lava that was once flowing in the area. Bowser frowned for the moment and decided on the course of action. “This is will have to do for now, except we have a way to get the lava back... if it's the last thing those plumbscum brothers think of finding us. Speaking of so, those two and that Yoshi friend of theirs are already on the island along with the Idols and Peach and the rest of the drag team.”
Kammy, recalling her argument with a certain someone during the space adventure, added her two cents. “And that young whippersnapper who is always with those girls. He's their producer, I think?”
Bowser Jr. looked at Kammy for a moment, surprised that Producer-san, of all people, would be mentioned. “You have something against him, Kammy?” Bowser snorted before Kammy could give her response. “Forget about that geek, Kammy. A scrawny human is no threat to me; he's all bark and no bite like every dupe wearing glasses.” (Excuse me?! I happen to be wearing glasses too because of my eyes not able to see far distances clearly! And I’m not the only one offended...)
“Ah-hem!” Kamek stood angrily, with his hands on his hips and began to tap his foot on the ground in a hard noise. “Like every WHAT, Your Insensitiveness??” Bowser sweated a bit groaning as he put himself into a metaphorical hole by accident from his remark. “Grmmph..”
“I'm wearing glasses as well, Sire...” The Magikoopa matriarch gave her remark as well as she turned her back in embarrassment, shutting her ears as Kamek continued his argument. “And I wouldn't go as far as deny that producer as a threat... sort of like a couple of certain babies grown up to get in the way every now and then. He's still a threat to me, even if he wears glasses..”
“I think I heard ENOUGH from you, Kamek. Until I'm in a BETTER MOOD, get out there and SNOOP!” Bowser snapped, which got the Magikoopa to grumble as he summoned his broom and took off. “Mmmph... Yes, Sire...”
“Uhh... Your Tenseness?” Sergeant Guy walked in looking at his superior.
“What, Sergeant?” Bowser turned to the highly ranked Shy Guy, which he simply asked with just two words. “My orders?”
Bowser deadpanned with a sigh and answered. “You're still on hold, Sarge.” Kammy then took the chance to save her the king of WHAT exactly to do. “If its work you want, help those goons clean this dusty place!” The sergeant then sighed and left to help the goons.
*End Theme*
“My my, someone’s feeling gloomy.” A voice echoed nearby, casuing the Koopa King and the Magikoopa matriarch to turn in response. Who they saw was nobody they had ever seen before...
*Insert Theme: “Evil Profusion” (Namco x Capcom)*
The Koopa King turned to see a shadow standing coolly within the darkness of the castle ruins. Within moments, the figure stepped out of the darkness to reveal Saya smirking seductively at the Koopa King. Bowser then glared at the werefox. “Are you with the idols? Heh, you’re pretty gutsy yet very late for the party, sweet cheeks!”
Saya, keeping her cool composure, smiled. “Oh, those adorable girls? Oh no, I’m not with them. However I do wish to see YOU, Bowser Koopa.” Kammy kept a quiet yet suspicious look on the werefox, wanting to know of what her intentions are. “And who might YOU be?”
“Saya, Ouma agent. While your robed goons were looking out, did you know of a man with a red jacket and a fox girl with the group?” Saya asked the Magikoopa matriarch, to which she rubbed her chin. “As a matter of fact, my son did say to me of such a pair while getting here. The odd thing is, these two don’t seem to belong to either the group led by that meddlesome Mario OR the Idols! Do you know of them?”
The werefox curtly smiled. “Well... you could say that this duo and I.... have an interesting history.”
*End Theme*
Meanwhile, back at the Yoshi Village...
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Yoshi Village*
*Insert Theme: “Sad Sun” (Paper Mario)*
All of Team Mario, except Wario and Waluigi, and the Idols were struck speechless, bewildered at how everything Mario had been through began.... with Chief Yoshi’s heroics many years ago. Mario himself was the first to speak as he stood dumbfounded at how he was reunited with his brother and the stork before being delivered to their parents’ home. “I... neva knew...”
“Well, of course you wouldn't. You both were very young then.” Yoshi’s mother placed her hand on the red plumber’s shoulder. Peach began to think for a moment, pondering the very thoughts together. “So you're saying...”
“If it wasn't for you, no one would have met Mario and Luigi...? Even me...?” Daisy placed her gloved hand on her chest, remembering the day Mario rescued her from Tatanga and the day she met Luigi. Yoshi too had to think on the history as he looked at the two brothers with an understanding gaze. “And I wouldn't have been born... or meet you guys on Dinosaur Island.” Luigi looked at Yoshi and nodded. “Ahhh... You have one fact right dere.”
Iori too was taking a while to put all the pieces of Chief Yoshi’s odyssey, which led to Bowser’s first ever defeat, and how it greatly related to Mario and Luigi’s exploits and the numerous people the two brothers have met. The rich girl looked at the green dinosaur for a moment. “Yoshi, this all so much for me to contain inside, you're the son of a leader AND a hero! And the first to beat that brute, no less!”
Luigi began to nudge his older brother for a second. “'Ey, bro, looks-a like you're not da only one who gained some pounds.
*End Theme with Sound Effect: “Spring Boing”*
“Luigi- oh...?” Mario started before he and Chief Yoshi started to look at each other’s bellies. Seeing the truth in what Luigi meant, the old Yoshi and the red plumber began to blush and laugh.
“I've been telling this old Yoshi to get out more. All he does is sit his rump on the Leader's chair and do his job.” The motherly pink Yoshi rambled, to which Chief Yoshi defended himself. “Well, I have to keep my people's interests and problems at my attention, my strawberry honey river. But enough about me and the good ol' days, we have a party to enjoy and a Superstar to see. Right? Although you may all have to go back home after this is done, let us enjoy this reunion’s occasion to their fullest 'til everyone's hearts are overfilled with happiness and memories.” Everyone cheered happily, although Reiji kept quiet but smirked. “For some reason, I think I’ll stick around and see how this turns out.”
*Insert Theme: “Island Activities” (Mario Party 9)*
Benjamin smiled as he wasted no time into transforming into a cyan colored Yoshi, however what was unique is that he had aqua blue back spikes, shoes and saddle. “I think this form is good enough for this occassion." The now cyan Yoshi remarked, drawing stares from the chief and his wife, as well as the now speechless Shinra duo.
“Did that human just transform into one of us?!” The female Yoshi gasped while her husband stood impressed. “Amazing!”
The interdimensional being in the form of a Yoshi, then began to speak as he showed the Contestant Randomizer. "My name is Benjamin, good Yoshis. But never mind my transformation. Princess, everyone, the Contestant Randomizer has this event's participants chosen." With that, the cyan Yoshi showed the pictures of the four chosen contestants from each team, randomly chosen.
*Team Mario: Mario, Yoshi, Magikoopa, Luigi
*Team 765 Pro: Ryou, Iori, Ritsuko, Yukiho
Mario quickly turned to his brother. “Looks like-a we're playin' togetha again, bro!” Within moments the two super brothers did a high five the moment.
*Insert Sound Effect: “High Five”*
“I'm-a ready!” Luigi gave a confident wink with a smile. Yoshi looked at the line ups quietly for a moment. “I'm picked twice in a row. But, hey- it's natural I get to play here.” Iori ran to the brave little dinosaur with glee. “Yoshi! We get to be in the same event together again! My happiness and excitement has gone up some more! Let's do our best!”
“Ha. You know it. Good luck to you!” Yoshi smiled to Iori as they clsped hands in anticipation to the upcoming event.
The Magikoopa involved set down his laptop and walked over. “D00D$! I'm up! Time for MK404.4 to show off his |\/|d |33+ $%1llz! (mad leet skills).” Apparently, this embarrassed the Koopa, grandson of the librarian Koopa Krag, and Dry Bones, a close friend.
“Good luck, man.” The Koopa sighed with a visible sweat drop on his left side, while Dry Bones shrugged. “Don't let everything get to your head.”
Ritsuko and Ryou look at the Contestant Randomizer for a few short moments before turning toward each other. “I'm up again.” Ryou quietly responded, while her older cousin did the same. “Me, too.” The two Akizukis then began to show confident looks on their faces. “First time together.” Ryou started, while a confident Ritsuko finished the statement. “Then let's make this worth our enjoyment.”
Yukiho stared quietly at her face shown on the Contestant Randomizer and began to look scared.. “I'm picked... again.” The bob-haired Idol’s worry began to concern Makoto as she looked at her dear friend.
Excited right off the bat, Miki turned to the chieftain with a glimmer in her green eyes. “Oooiii! Chief Yoshi, where on the island are we going to do this?” The chieftain smiled as he looked at the blond Idol. “I'm glad you asked, young lady. Darling, you know how to get there, right?” The old Yoshi turned to his wife, who knew the exact location of where the event is to be held. “Mmh-hm! Everyone follow us.”
*End Theme*
Within moments, the group followed the two Yoshsi toward a hidden path to where the Dimension Comet shone...
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Floral Field Forest*
*Insert Theme: “Flower Field” (Yoshi’s Island)*
The group headed to a flowery field lined with trees and many kinds of flowers. A group of Crazee Dayzees walked around singing to the gentle breeze while a few colorful Shy Guys perfomed a multitude of abilities, like performing limbo dances. Chief Yoshi led the group and showed the flowery view to the entire group. “Here we are. This is the Floral Field Forest. Your mother and I call it the Double F Forest.”
“This is also where your father proposed to me.” Yoshi’s mother also explained, which spurred awe to their son as well as Iori, who saved some footwork by riding the green dinosaur’s saddle.
“Really, mom?” Yoshi’s eyes went with awe, while Iori was moved. “Here? That's really romantic, Yoshi-oka-san.”
“Please, call me Moyoshi.” The pink Yoshi smiled to the rich girl.
Yukiho looked at the abundant field of flowers with awe, and within moments all of her fear of having to participate again subsided. “It's like a large forest and a huge flower field in one place together.”
“It's a beautiful dream come true...” Daisy happily agreed as she helped Yukiho get ready on the area.
“The scent of the floral air is sweet and fresh.” Peach exclaimed as she inhales the sweet aroma through her nose and exhales through her mouth. Benjamin, enjoying the fresh air as well, looked at the crystal clear water that shimmer in the daylight. “And I can sense the river's waters are pure and clean with ultra-rich minerals filled with nutrition you normally don't find in any world."
*End Theme*
Soon enough, Mario, Luigi, Magikoopa, Yoshi, Iori, Ritsuko, Ryou, and Yukiho each began to stand at their starting points. But as soon as Yoshi was carrying the lovable rich girl to her starting point, his eyes met with the bespectacled eyes of a blue Yoshi wearing a spiked collar and black sunglasses. What was unique about him in comparison to other Yoshis is that he wore shoes that did not cover his toes.
“Well, well, well! If it isn't my former rival, Yoshi.” The blue Yoshi snorted in a smug manner.
“You! ... Who are you again?” Yoshi glared, but then turned to a confused gaze at the bespectacled Yoshi, who comically face planted on the floor in response.
*Insert Sound Effect: “Fred Drops the Ball” (The Flintstones)*
Flabbergasted by the uncalled response, the blue Yoshi scrambled himself up an glared at the green dinosaur in a rash fit. ‘'EY! WHADDAYA MEAN, ‘WHO ARE YOU AGAIN?!’ I'm Boshi! Your old rival!”
*Insert Theme: “Welcome to Yo’ster Island” (Super Mario RPG)*
“What a crude Yoshi...” Takane thought in disgust at the rude blue Yoshi who just popped out of nowhere. Iori even had her own say in the matter. “Excuse me, but you are being quite impolite here.”
Boshi halted his conversation for a moment to look at Iori, who is riding Yoshi at the moment, and snickered. “Hehehehehe! Yoshi, are you going soft? You got a little girl walking all over you!”
“H-Hey!!” “E-Eeeeeeh?!” Yoshi and Iori blush a hailstorm, almost ready to throw a fit at Boshi for a sucha stupid remark, but Boshi wisely decided to give some info that the green dinosaur might need to know, as well as the Idols.
“Look.. I’m not here to get in the way of you two are doing. Just though I let you all know that annoying quiet roadblocker, Pak E. Derm is wandering around stopping folks from going where they please for no reason.” (Good call Boshi...)
“Pak E. Derm?” Hibiki asked in confusion, to which Boshi turned his attention to the rest of the Idols. “But you leave him to me, BUT... you HAVE to give me Yoshi Cookies in return!”

That’s the end of another chapter! After a large backstory involving Chief Yoshi’s adventure and the return of Yoshi’s old, yet somewhat forgotten rival, Boshi, the party at the Floral Field Forest at Yoshi’s Island has begun! To be frank, a part at Yoshi’s Island was one of the requested areas, and I am glad to begin it at last! But now Saya has met up with Bowser at long last. What is going to happen next? “KYAAAAAAA!!!” Yukiho, seeing the canine, panicked and hid behind Makoto due to her strong fear of dogs, but in a sudden twist, the canine was not running towards the bob haired Idol, but towards Yoshi’s arms. “Wu-wuff! Wuff wuff wuff!”
*Insert Theme: “Flower Field” (Yoshi Touch and Go) (Super Smash Bros. Brawl Version)*
“Hehey, it's Poochy! How you doin', old friend!?” Yoshi happily smiled as the dog hopped on his old masters hands and gave him a lick. “Haha! Hey, cut it out, Poochy!”
"Seems Poochy said, 'Welcome Home' to you, Yoshi." Benjamin smiled as the Idols... excluding the frightened Yukiho, went for a closer look of the dog.
“Oh my goodness...!” Iori was wowed by the cuteness of the beloved hound, as was Takane. “What a cute doggy...” The Silver Queen had a slight nosebleed over the powerful cuteness of the situation, but when it came to Kotori...
“Ubububububububu...” Kotori was overwhelmed by the cuteness as blood began to gush down from her nose! The sight of the sudden blood spill was enough to unnerve Xiaomu as she asked in nervous concern. “Uh... Kotori-san? You okay?” The Sage Fox didn’t get a clear answer as the attendant was too mesmerized in the cuteness to answer Xiaomu’s question... or even notice that her blood was flowing down to the ground by way of her arms!
“O-Onegai, L... Leave me alone...” Yukiho quietly pleaded that Poochy would not turn its attention to her, though her cowering was enough for Reiji to notice as he scratched his with one thought in mind. “What's gotten into her...?” (Apparently, Reiji doesn’t know of Yukiho’s cynophobia either, but since he’s too interested to stop Saya from whatever she’s planning, let’s just leave it at that...)
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Story Music Box” (Yoshi’s Island)*
“Poochy! Did you come out here?” An old male voice called out from nearby. Within moments, a pink Yoshi wearing an apron and an elderly Yoshi who seemed chubbier than the rest and wore a headband walked over to the group. The pink Yoshi recognizes the Yoshi in the group without batting an eyelash. “Oh, HEY!”
“Mom! Dad!” The green bipedal gleefully ran to his parents with Poochy behind him. “Hahaha! Dad, Mom, it's good to see you again!”
“It's wonderful to see you again, too, Yoshi-bubu.” Yoshi’s mother smiled as she hugged her beloved son.
“Welcome home, son... Did you bring the visitors for this ‘Mario Party?’ The large chieftain smiled as he asked his brave son, to which Yoshi happily answered. “Sure did!”
“So that's Yoshi's papa...” Iori spoke as she looked at Yoshi’s wise father, then thought for a moment. “He's a little chubbier than I imagined... Is that headband his proof of leadership?”
Peach then walked forward and said hello to the chief in formal fashion. “Greetings, Chief Yoshi.”
The elder Yoshi smiled as he looked at the sovereign princess and the Idols. “Ahhh, Princess Peach. It's good to see you after some time. And I welcome you guests, most of all- the Idols I've heard about from my son, to Yoshi's Island!”
Mario walked over to the chieftain with Luigi and introduces himself as he offers his hand in a form of handshake. “Hello dere, name's-a Mario!”
“And I am his brutha' Luigi!” The green plumber brother happily introduced himself as well. The mere sight of the two brothers was enough for the chief to raise an eyebrow. “Mario? Luigi? Hmmmmm...”

The Mario Bros. looked a little sad, wondering if they somehow made an old memory come up in the elder Yoshi’s mind. Iori looked at Chief Yoshi and wondered if he was alright. “Ano... Yoshi-sama?”
Chief Yoshi began to reach deep into his memories until he remembered of two babies from long ago wearing the same hats and having the same noses, then he place two and two together in a strong realization of who the babies are now. Without warning, the chieftain hugged the two brothers. “HOOHOOHOOHOOOOO! Mario! Luigi! It's you! It's really you! I've been wondering why this was called a ‘Mario Party’, now I know why! The hats and the noses gave it away!” The chieftain let go of the brothers as he hopped happily. “It's super-happy good to you both again after such a long, long time!”
“Wait, wha--?” Mario’s jaw dropped as he looked at his brother, who was equally as confused. “E-Excuse me?”
Makoto stood a little dumbfounded as she looked at the Yoshi chieftain and spoke. “Yoshi-taishou, did you just say you knew them a very long time ago?!” Yoshi was just equally as surprised how his father knew of Mario and Luigi. “Dad?!”
Chief Yoshi answered Makoto’s question with a nod and a smile. “Mmhmgh! Ever since they were babies, of course!” Everyone was amazed at the thought, though Mario and Luigi still had question marks over their heads. Benjamin smirked happily, while Xiaomu eagerly asked. “If you don’t mind me asking, how DID you meet Mario and Luigi?” Reiji decided to hold off what punishment he had for his happy go lucky partner as he too was interested how the Yoshi met the brothers.
*Insert Theme: “Yoshi Start Demo” (Yoshi’s Island)*
The Yoshi chieftain closes his eyes as he becomes nostalgic to the memories of the day he found Baby Mario and the adventure he and his old friends had long ago.. “I could never forget the time of reason how I became the Village Chief...”
*FLASHBACK*
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Years Ago..*
*Insert Sound Effect: “Chime”*
(Chief Yoshi) “Back when I young and lively with a bright green coat, I was having such wonderful walk through the island's forests and jungles on such a lovely day, until something fell on my head and onto my back. There something wrapped in white on me and a head popped out. It was a baby, a human baby! With a big round nose and a red hat with an "M" on it! We Yoshis never had contact with humans before and this was the first, yet adorable, human I had ever met in my life! Another thing fell on me, it was a map that carried by a stork who was delivering this baby, with directions to the house. I saw the names ‘Mario and Luigi’ written on the map... but then I looked around and wondered, ‘Where's the other baby?’ I gathered my rainbow of friends, your mother being one of them, son, to help assist me in finding the poor baby's brother and they agreed to help. A long adventurous journey began for all of us. We traveled through fields, forests, jungles, caves, rivers and mountains through the adventure and fought many bad guys, a group of baddies called Toadies were so dead set on taking Baby Mario off our backs and I ended being the one saving the wailing infant. I even came across the one in charge of them, a Magikoopa named Kamek, he demanded numerous times to hand the baby over to him, but I refused since I suspected he has kidnapped Baby Luigi. He sent giant monsters after us, but we always won the fights! We then went inside a huge castle on the island's volcanic region and cornered Kamek. There I met my journey's biggest challenge, the naughty and rough bully prince, Bowser Koopa. Baby Bowser kicked Baby Mario off my back a few times, he started riding roughly like I was a bucking bronco, but I managed to save Mario and boot Baby Bowser off me! Kamek turned the little bully into a giant, destroying the castle in his temper tantrum, and with a large red egg at my disposal, I beat the big baby for good! Kamek fled with his little master in tow and I saved the stork and Baby Luigi, whom I reunited with Baby Mario. The stork left after we said our good-byes and the other Yoshis recognized our feats and accomplishment, I was named Chief for life and led our people fairly and wisely for decades.”

The old Yoshi, after recalling the adventure he had, turned to his son. “Thus, afterwards I married your mother and had you.” Yoshi was speechless. Everyone, with the exception of Wario and Waluigi who snoozed through the whole flashback, was also left speechless of the elder Yoshi’s courage and a possibility that this amazing trait was passed to his son.
Meanwhile....
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Bowser’s Castle Ruins*
*Insert Theme: “Castle” (Yoshi’s Island DS)*
Bowser, Bowser Jr., Kamek, and Kammy arrive to the quiet remnants of the castle that the Koopa King once lived in as a prince. Ever since that fateful battle between Bowser, made giant by Kamek’s magic, and Chief Yoshi years ago, the castle was left in complete utter disrepair, completely abandoned for many years till now.
“So... this is where you used to live when you were little, Papa?” The mischievous Koopa princed asked his father, who felt a little nostalgic and sad. “Ahh, yes. My old childhood abode! ... ... ...In absolute ruins.”
The remnants of the castle had seen gradual decay due to rust and moss as a single chipped brick chipped off and nearly hit Kammy on the head, leaving dust to hurt her sinuses. Kamek took a quiet look around the severely damaged site and frowned. “We've left it like this for so long, everything is falling apart, covered in dust and moss... and the lava is gone dry and hard.” The Magikoopa responded while pointing at the obsidian mass created from the cooled up lava that was once flowing in the area. Bowser frowned for the moment and decided on the course of action. “This is will have to do for now, except we have a way to get the lava back... if it's the last thing those plumbscum brothers think of finding us. Speaking of so, those two and that Yoshi friend of theirs are already on the island along with the Idols and Peach and the rest of the drag team.”
Kammy, recalling her argument with a certain someone during the space adventure, added her two cents. “And that young whippersnapper who is always with those girls. He's their producer, I think?”
Bowser Jr. looked at Kammy for a moment, surprised that Producer-san, of all people, would be mentioned. “You have something against him, Kammy?” Bowser snorted before Kammy could give her response. “Forget about that geek, Kammy. A scrawny human is no threat to me; he's all bark and no bite like every dupe wearing glasses.” (Excuse me?! I happen to be wearing glasses too because of my eyes not able to see far distances clearly! And I’m not the only one offended...)
“Ah-hem!” Kamek stood angrily, with his hands on his hips and began to tap his foot on the ground in a hard noise. “Like every WHAT, Your Insensitiveness??” Bowser sweated a bit groaning as he put himself into a metaphorical hole by accident from his remark. “Grmmph..”
“I'm wearing glasses as well, Sire...” The Magikoopa matriarch gave her remark as well as she turned her back in embarrassment, shutting her ears as Kamek continued his argument. “And I wouldn't go as far as deny that producer as a threat... sort of like a couple of certain babies grown up to get in the way every now and then. He's still a threat to me, even if he wears glasses..”
“I think I heard ENOUGH from you, Kamek. Until I'm in a BETTER MOOD, get out there and SNOOP!” Bowser snapped, which got the Magikoopa to grumble as he summoned his broom and took off. “Mmmph... Yes, Sire...”
“Uhh... Your Tenseness?” Sergeant Guy walked in looking at his superior.
“What, Sergeant?” Bowser turned to the highly ranked Shy Guy, which he simply asked with just two words. “My orders?”
Bowser deadpanned with a sigh and answered. “You're still on hold, Sarge.” Kammy then took the chance to save her the king of WHAT exactly to do. “If its work you want, help those goons clean this dusty place!” The sergeant then sighed and left to help the goons.

“My my, someone’s feeling gloomy.” A voice echoed nearby, casuing the Koopa King and the Magikoopa matriarch to turn in response. Who they saw was nobody they had ever seen before...
*Insert Theme: “Evil Profusion” (Namco x Capcom)*
The Koopa King turned to see a shadow standing coolly within the darkness of the castle ruins. Within moments, the figure stepped out of the darkness to reveal Saya smirking seductively at the Koopa King. Bowser then glared at the werefox. “Are you with the idols? Heh, you’re pretty gutsy yet very late for the party, sweet cheeks!”
Saya, keeping her cool composure, smiled. “Oh, those adorable girls? Oh no, I’m not with them. However I do wish to see YOU, Bowser Koopa.” Kammy kept a quiet yet suspicious look on the werefox, wanting to know of what her intentions are. “And who might YOU be?”
“Saya, Ouma agent. While your robed goons were looking out, did you know of a man with a red jacket and a fox girl with the group?” Saya asked the Magikoopa matriarch, to which she rubbed her chin. “As a matter of fact, my son did say to me of such a pair while getting here. The odd thing is, these two don’t seem to belong to either the group led by that meddlesome Mario OR the Idols! Do you know of them?”
The werefox curtly smiled. “Well... you could say that this duo and I.... have an interesting history.”

Meanwhile, back at the Yoshi Village...
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Yoshi Village*
*Insert Theme: “Sad Sun” (Paper Mario)*
All of Team Mario, except Wario and Waluigi, and the Idols were struck speechless, bewildered at how everything Mario had been through began.... with Chief Yoshi’s heroics many years ago. Mario himself was the first to speak as he stood dumbfounded at how he was reunited with his brother and the stork before being delivered to their parents’ home. “I... neva knew...”
“Well, of course you wouldn't. You both were very young then.” Yoshi’s mother placed her hand on the red plumber’s shoulder. Peach began to think for a moment, pondering the very thoughts together. “So you're saying...”
“If it wasn't for you, no one would have met Mario and Luigi...? Even me...?” Daisy placed her gloved hand on her chest, remembering the day Mario rescued her from Tatanga and the day she met Luigi. Yoshi too had to think on the history as he looked at the two brothers with an understanding gaze. “And I wouldn't have been born... or meet you guys on Dinosaur Island.” Luigi looked at Yoshi and nodded. “Ahhh... You have one fact right dere.”
Iori too was taking a while to put all the pieces of Chief Yoshi’s odyssey, which led to Bowser’s first ever defeat, and how it greatly related to Mario and Luigi’s exploits and the numerous people the two brothers have met. The rich girl looked at the green dinosaur for a moment. “Yoshi, this all so much for me to contain inside, you're the son of a leader AND a hero! And the first to beat that brute, no less!”
Luigi began to nudge his older brother for a second. “'Ey, bro, looks-a like you're not da only one who gained some pounds.
*End Theme with Sound Effect: “Spring Boing”*
“Luigi- oh...?” Mario started before he and Chief Yoshi started to look at each other’s bellies. Seeing the truth in what Luigi meant, the old Yoshi and the red plumber began to blush and laugh.
“I've been telling this old Yoshi to get out more. All he does is sit his rump on the Leader's chair and do his job.” The motherly pink Yoshi rambled, to which Chief Yoshi defended himself. “Well, I have to keep my people's interests and problems at my attention, my strawberry honey river. But enough about me and the good ol' days, we have a party to enjoy and a Superstar to see. Right? Although you may all have to go back home after this is done, let us enjoy this reunion’s occasion to their fullest 'til everyone's hearts are overfilled with happiness and memories.” Everyone cheered happily, although Reiji kept quiet but smirked. “For some reason, I think I’ll stick around and see how this turns out.”
*Insert Theme: “Island Activities” (Mario Party 9)*
Benjamin smiled as he wasted no time into transforming into a cyan colored Yoshi, however what was unique is that he had aqua blue back spikes, shoes and saddle. “I think this form is good enough for this occassion." The now cyan Yoshi remarked, drawing stares from the chief and his wife, as well as the now speechless Shinra duo.
“Did that human just transform into one of us?!” The female Yoshi gasped while her husband stood impressed. “Amazing!”
The interdimensional being in the form of a Yoshi, then began to speak as he showed the Contestant Randomizer. "My name is Benjamin, good Yoshis. But never mind my transformation. Princess, everyone, the Contestant Randomizer has this event's participants chosen." With that, the cyan Yoshi showed the pictures of the four chosen contestants from each team, randomly chosen.
*Team Mario: Mario, Yoshi, Magikoopa, Luigi
*Team 765 Pro: Ryou, Iori, Ritsuko, Yukiho
Mario quickly turned to his brother. “Looks like-a we're playin' togetha again, bro!” Within moments the two super brothers did a high five the moment.
*Insert Sound Effect: “High Five”*
“I'm-a ready!” Luigi gave a confident wink with a smile. Yoshi looked at the line ups quietly for a moment. “I'm picked twice in a row. But, hey- it's natural I get to play here.” Iori ran to the brave little dinosaur with glee. “Yoshi! We get to be in the same event together again! My happiness and excitement has gone up some more! Let's do our best!”
“Ha. You know it. Good luck to you!” Yoshi smiled to Iori as they clsped hands in anticipation to the upcoming event.
The Magikoopa involved set down his laptop and walked over. “D00D$! I'm up! Time for MK404.4 to show off his |\/|d |33+ $%1llz! (mad leet skills).” Apparently, this embarrassed the Koopa, grandson of the librarian Koopa Krag, and Dry Bones, a close friend.
“Good luck, man.” The Koopa sighed with a visible sweat drop on his left side, while Dry Bones shrugged. “Don't let everything get to your head.”
Ritsuko and Ryou look at the Contestant Randomizer for a few short moments before turning toward each other. “I'm up again.” Ryou quietly responded, while her older cousin did the same. “Me, too.” The two Akizukis then began to show confident looks on their faces. “First time together.” Ryou started, while a confident Ritsuko finished the statement. “Then let's make this worth our enjoyment.”
Yukiho stared quietly at her face shown on the Contestant Randomizer and began to look scared.. “I'm picked... again.” The bob-haired Idol’s worry began to concern Makoto as she looked at her dear friend.
Excited right off the bat, Miki turned to the chieftain with a glimmer in her green eyes. “Oooiii! Chief Yoshi, where on the island are we going to do this?” The chieftain smiled as he looked at the blond Idol. “I'm glad you asked, young lady. Darling, you know how to get there, right?” The old Yoshi turned to his wife, who knew the exact location of where the event is to be held. “Mmh-hm! Everyone follow us.”

Within moments, the group followed the two Yoshsi toward a hidden path to where the Dimension Comet shone...
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Floral Field Forest*
*Insert Theme: “Flower Field” (Yoshi’s Island)*
The group headed to a flowery field lined with trees and many kinds of flowers. A group of Crazee Dayzees walked around singing to the gentle breeze while a few colorful Shy Guys perfomed a multitude of abilities, like performing limbo dances. Chief Yoshi led the group and showed the flowery view to the entire group. “Here we are. This is the Floral Field Forest. Your mother and I call it the Double F Forest.”
“This is also where your father proposed to me.” Yoshi’s mother also explained, which spurred awe to their son as well as Iori, who saved some footwork by riding the green dinosaur’s saddle.
“Really, mom?” Yoshi’s eyes went with awe, while Iori was moved. “Here? That's really romantic, Yoshi-oka-san.”
“Please, call me Moyoshi.” The pink Yoshi smiled to the rich girl.
Yukiho looked at the abundant field of flowers with awe, and within moments all of her fear of having to participate again subsided. “It's like a large forest and a huge flower field in one place together.”
“It's a beautiful dream come true...” Daisy happily agreed as she helped Yukiho get ready on the area.
“The scent of the floral air is sweet and fresh.” Peach exclaimed as she inhales the sweet aroma through her nose and exhales through her mouth. Benjamin, enjoying the fresh air as well, looked at the crystal clear water that shimmer in the daylight. “And I can sense the river's waters are pure and clean with ultra-rich minerals filled with nutrition you normally don't find in any world."
*End Theme*
Soon enough, Mario, Luigi, Magikoopa, Yoshi, Iori, Ritsuko, Ryou, and Yukiho each began to stand at their starting points. But as soon as Yoshi was carrying the lovable rich girl to her starting point, his eyes met with the bespectacled eyes of a blue Yoshi wearing a spiked collar and black sunglasses. What was unique about him in comparison to other Yoshis is that he wore shoes that did not cover his toes.
“Well, well, well! If it isn't my former rival, Yoshi.” The blue Yoshi snorted in a smug manner.
“You! ... Who are you again?” Yoshi glared, but then turned to a confused gaze at the bespectacled Yoshi, who comically face planted on the floor in response.
*Insert Sound Effect: “Fred Drops the Ball” (The Flintstones)*
Flabbergasted by the uncalled response, the blue Yoshi scrambled himself up an glared at the green dinosaur in a rash fit. ‘'EY! WHADDAYA MEAN, ‘WHO ARE YOU AGAIN?!’ I'm Boshi! Your old rival!”
*Insert Theme: “Welcome to Yo’ster Island” (Super Mario RPG)*
“What a crude Yoshi...” Takane thought in disgust at the rude blue Yoshi who just popped out of nowhere. Iori even had her own say in the matter. “Excuse me, but you are being quite impolite here.”
Boshi halted his conversation for a moment to look at Iori, who is riding Yoshi at the moment, and snickered. “Hehehehehe! Yoshi, are you going soft? You got a little girl walking all over you!”
“H-Hey!!” “E-Eeeeeeh?!” Yoshi and Iori blush a hailstorm, almost ready to throw a fit at Boshi for a sucha stupid remark, but Boshi wisely decided to give some info that the green dinosaur might need to know, as well as the Idols.
“Look.. I’m not here to get in the way of you two are doing. Just though I let you all know that annoying quiet roadblocker, Pak E. Derm is wandering around stopping folks from going where they please for no reason.” (Good call Boshi...)
“Pak E. Derm?” Hibiki asked in confusion, to which Boshi turned his attention to the rest of the Idols. “But you leave him to me, BUT... you HAVE to give me Yoshi Cookies in return!”

That’s the end of another chapter! After a large backstory involving Chief Yoshi’s adventure and the return of Yoshi’s old, yet somewhat forgotten rival, Boshi, the party at the Floral Field Forest at Yoshi’s Island has begun! To be frank, a part at Yoshi’s Island was one of the requested areas, and I am glad to begin it at last! But now Saya has met up with Bowser at long last. What is going to happen next?
