Description
CrystalPhoenixBlader here, bringing in another new chapter to the fanfic! This is the new year, so that means new progress! So stay tuned! Oh yeah, disclaimer time like always. I do not own any of the Mario characters or the iDOLMASTER characters: the Mario characters belong to Nintendo and the iDOLMASTER characters belong to Namco Bandai. In addition, the characters “Reiji Arisu” and “Xiaomu” belong to Namco Bandai and Monolift Soft. In addition, the character “Boshi” belongs to Nintendo and Square Enix. So, with all that aside, let’s toast the new flowery chapter in a new year!

Chapter 52
Rampaging Chain Chomps?! Kammy's Threat

*Yoshi’s Island ~ Floral Field Forest*
Reiji, having fully calmed down after pounding Shy Guy into submission, quietly walked back to the site of the party with a sigh, dragging the unconscious hoodlum with his unexposed face dragged on the ground. Xiaomu followed without saying a word, knowing how ticked off her superior was when Shy Guy’s information about the Gemini Piranha Vorbubud came as a little inefficient.
“Reiji, you-a okay?” Mario ran to check on the Shinra agent, given his turn was already used up.
“Yeah. Just had to let out some steam.” Reiji answered, dropping the dazed Shy Guy on the ground. Mario looked at the unconscious hoodlum, but wisely decided to save his comment for another time.
Just then, a pair of cute screams echoes in the distance, along with some minor tremors!
*Insert Theme: “Panic!” (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga)*
“Ngh!” Reiji quickly responded to the screams as he turned his attention to the direction of the source. Xiaomu followed and peered by the back of her zebra haired superior. “Huh?!”
Mario quickly recognized the voices, as did Producer-san. “Holy ravioli!” “Mami and Ami!”
The Futami twins jump out of the bushes in complete panic and hide behind Ritsuko, screaming in panic! “HYAAAAAAAA!!!” Ritsuko, quickly alert to the twins’ panicked emotions, asked in confusion. “What's with you!” Hiding behind the bespectacled Idol/producer, Mami started the answer first. “Ritsuko-san! Please help us!”, with Ami finishing the answer. “Those things are going kill us!!!”
Sooner or later, the tremors began to echo even closer to the group, enough for the twins to panic even more!
“HIIIIIIIIIII~!!!” Ami and Mami yelp as they hid behind Ritsuko, who had a strong premonition that this troublesome duo may have done something REALLY wrong!
“What... W-WHAT DID YOU D-DO THIS T-TIME?!” Ritsuko shouted as she gritted her teeth in worry.
Feeling the tremors start to come closer, Producer-san, going by first instinct, ran in front of Ritsuko and the twins. “Stay behind me!”
“P-Producer?! Producer!” Kotori yelped in panic, but soon enough, Mario decided to stand his guard in anticipation to what is coming, while Luigi and Yukiho... decide to hide behind a tree.
*End Theme*
Soon, the tremors began to come even closer as trees began to fall behind the bushes, with the sound of angry snarls echoing from behind them. After that, two Wigglers jump out and decimated the bush, and boy, are they FURIOUS as their skins were showing a dangerous red hue and they let out a Godzilla-like roar!
*Insert Theme: “Vs. Wiggler” (Super Mario Sunshine) (A sped up version of the boss theme!)*
The Wigglers began to stampede across the board in a furious rage, much to Mario’s surprise, in a berserk search for the two people who purposely landed on their heads, to which they were very sensitive at... Ami and Mami, who screamed in fright. “KYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
“Giant Caterpillars!?!: Producer-san and Ritsuko shout at the same time.
“Wigglers! ANGRY WIGGLERS!!!” Luigi yelped from the tree he and Yukiho were peeking from. Wario and Waluigi, smirking to the fact that the twins are going to end up with their just desserts, even if it is not going to be by their hands, decide to cleverly back off.
(Wario) “Oooooh!”
(Waluigi) “Oh, they're in for it now!”
The first Wiggler, the one with red circles on the body, caught sight of Ami and Mami and began to run and stomp in that particular direction in a frenzy. “THERE YOU ARE!!! LIKE SQUISHING BUGS, DO YOU!?!” the enraged red spotted Wiggler roared, while his buddy, a Wiggler with blue circles on his body, equally as infuriated as his friend, snarled. “HOW'D YOU LIKE TO BE SQUISHED BY BUGS YOURSEEEEEEELVES!?!”
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!” The Futami twins scream as they tightly squeezed Ritsuko in complete utter fear. Producer-san felt a little in over his head... again.. as trembled in thought alone. “I... I didn't prepare for this! I didn't even bring any bug spray!”
Before the enraged Wigglers could strike, however, Benjamin, in his cyan Yoshi form, jumped right in front of Producer-san with a determined look on his face.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Protect the Espers!” (Final Fantasy 6)*
“B-Benjamin-san?!” Producer-san stuttered. Boshi, equally as surprised as the Yoshi Cookie he was ready to eat at the moment fell out of his mouth before he even got a chance to chew, responded in bewilderment. “What is that Yoshi doing?!”
Before anyone had a time to react, Benjamin a bright white light at the Wigglers’ eyes, which blew up on contact, blinding the enraged creatures.
(Wiggler 1) “GWAAAH!!!”
(Wiggler 2) “TOO BRIGHT...!”
“Umbra..." Benjamin spoke as he then extended his arm, conjuring a violet sphere above his palm. Within moments, the sphere changed into a purple and black flame.
“What... is that? What's going on?” Yukiho, clearly frightened, asked as she, along with the green plumber, who is chattering his teeth at the moment, watched.
All of a sudden, red light began to pour out from the two Wigglers.
(Wiggler 2) “GRRRrrr... What's going on...? I feel wierd.”
(Wiggler 1) “Ooohhhhhh...”
Within a few moments, the red light gets sucked into the dark flame, becoming red in the center.
“Hohh” Benjamin shouted as he launches the flame into the air, going beyond the atmosphere until it was out of sight.
*End Theme*
Producer-san lowered his guard to see the Wigglers skin change to a yellowish hue and began to stare at Benjamin, asking him just one question. “Benjamin-san, what did you just... do?”
Smirking, the interdimensional enigma answered the question without hesitation. "Using the darkness, I pulled out the anger from the Wigglers to calm them down... but I don't have the power to completely abolish anger from anyone... so long as the heart remains."
Mario lowered his guard as well as he wiped off his sweat from his forehead. “That was a risky move, but da Wigglers aren't-a hostile anymore.” The Shinra duo were equally confused as Xiaomu scratched her head for a moment. “He can use darkness AND light?” Reiji, however, began to have a clear idea of what just happened. “... Hmm...”
The two Wigglers, relieved of their fury, began to look around in confusion.
(Wiggler 1) “Hmm? Hey, what's going on?”
(Wiggler 2) “I dunno, but it looks like someone's having a party.”
Mario then walked to the two large caterpillars and smiled. “Hey, it's-a okay! C'mon and-a spectate!” The two calmed down creatures reacted happily with a big “Yay!”, enough for Ritsuko to stagger, making her glasses fall a little off angle. “Th... They're docile now?!
Benjamin nodded and gave his explanation. “Yes, true to the fact. As much as they are docile and carefree in heart, Bowser has these guys in his army because of those brutally violent berserk tantrums they unleash when they are harmed... A part I can personally relate to. But they must've blown their fuses when someone GROUND POUNDED, STOMPED or LANDED ON THEM WITH THEIR BUTT to get them angry as that." While the conversation continued, Ami and Mami began to sweat greatly as they meekly look at each other and began to whisper.
(Mami) “So that's why my butt didn't hurt?”
(Ami) “You and me, Mami. They were soft enough to cushion our drop.”
*Insert Theme: “Trick Mansion” (Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald)*
Nodding to each other, the twins decide to quietly tiptoe out. But before they could get a chance, Benjamin, without averting his gaze, spoke. "And speaking of 'SOMEONE...'" The very words the being said were more than enough for the twins’ spines to stiffen in shock as they meekly turned around to see unimpressed stares from many of the group... and one very scary, dark aura filled glare from Ritsuko!!
“Ami... Mami... Do you see where your obnoxious hooliganism GETS YOUUUUUUUUUUUU?!?!?!” Ritsuko snaled, making the lovable mischievous panic...

*Yoshi’s Island ~ Overview*
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!” The sound of the twins’ scream echoed very far, enough to scare a couple of Goonies and Crazee Dayzees in the area.
*Insert Jingle: “Too Bad” (Pokémon: Ruby and Sapphire)*
(Narrator) “Remind me NEVER to get on Ritsuko’s bad side...”
(Xiaomu) “Tell me about it! I think I’d rather take Reiji’s spankings!”
(Reiji) “For once... no comment..”
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Forest Trail*
*Insert Theme: “Flower Garden” (Yoshi’s Island DS)*
Azusa, carrying some fruit from the Yoshi Village, under the guidance of the yellow Yoshi from earlier, was unable to cross due to the pesky Pak E. Derm blocking the way for no particular reason.
“Ara, please move aside...” The wayward Idol tried to sweet talk the pachyderm, to no avail as it stubbornly won’t budge. She tried giving the fruit, using the “puppy dog eyes tactic”, even shed a single tear... but the creature still won’t move.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Encounter! Parasol Lady” (Pokémon: Black and White)*
All of a sudden, a sudden tremor rumbled and was focused on the pachyderm, toppling it over. Azusa, bracing herself in case Bowser showed up to kidnap her again, opened her eyes to see Benjamin dusting his hands.
“Thank you for helping me, Benjamin-san. That strange elephant won't let me by no matter what nice things I do. Arigatou.” Azusa nodded with a gentle smile, to which the being blushed. “T'was nothin'."
With that, the Idol and cyan Yoshi walk back to the site before Pak E. Derm got himself up. As for the yellow Yoshi, he returned to the village.

*Yoshi’s Island ~ Floral Field Forest*
Miki was quietly taking a nap in the shade, peacefully dozing the day away, until a strange sound managed to pop her snot bubble and wake her up! “Muh? What's that sound?” The blonde Idol muttered while rubbing her eyes to see Kammy Koopa descend from her broomstick towards the group.
*Insert Theme: “Kammy Koopa” (Paper Mario)*
“It's the witch!” Miki, fully awake and aware, shouted as she pointed at Kammy, drawing the attention of everyone to the Magikoopa matriarch.
“Kammy Koopa!” Peach gasped, while Mario shouted before jumping into a fighting stance. “You're back again?!” Makoto, still feeling that chip on the shoulder from the crystallized petrification she suffered back in space, jumped in a fighting stance of her own. “Hah!”
Kammy adjusted her glasses and smiled at the group. “Good to see you all again, everyone. You all picked a pretty place to have a party...” The elderly Magikoopa paused for a moment to smell the fresh air before continuing her speech. “And it does smell nice, too. Sadly, I'm here on business if you don't mind.”
“We DO mind.” Producer-san retorted with his hands on his hips, but then Kotori then asked in confusion. “Excuse me, but what business are you referring to?”
Kammy stopped for a moment as she looked at the green haired attendant and tilted her head in confusion. “And who, pray tell, do I ask, are you? I never seen you before.”
“Kotori Otonashi, 765 Pro's attendant and sec—“ Kotori began to introducerself, but then found herself hand gagged by Producer-san. “Mmmph?!” the man simply did not want to waste any time by saying one thing. “She doesn't need to know that!”
Kammy merely shrugged as a result, but then Reiji began to glare at the matriarch readying his hand on his pistol Gold. “Is she one of Bowser's underlings?” Toadette shivered as she answered the Shinra agent’s question. “Y-You bet she is!” XIaomu, eager to mop the floor with Kammy’s carcass, gripped her Suiren swordstick as she smirked. “No sweat! We'll take of this troublemaker.”
Yoshi flashed his arm, attempting to block the Sage Fox as he glared at Kammy. “Hey. You let us handle Kammy, you two. Can't afford you getting your hands dirty.” Xiaomu looked at Reiji, who too is surprised as she looked at the green dinosaur.
Kammy then looked at YOSHI and smiled. “Ah ha! Yoshi, just who I was looking for! Actually, I have some business with your family to take care of!”
Just then, Chief Yoshi stepped right to his son’s side with his arms crossed and his face showing a disapproving scowl. “Elderly Magikoopa, what business do you have that involves us? What trouble do you bring us to interrupt an important party?”
Kammy adjusted her glasses as she looked at the rotund chief. “HmHMPH! So... You're the Chief, are you?! The one who ruined and harmed my lord, King Bowser, long ago?” Moyoshi was shocked to hear the name. “Huh?”
Chief Yoshi then began to glare at Kammy. “Wait... You wouldn't happen know anyone named ‘Kamek’, do you?” A vein began to throb on Kammy’s head as she put heads and tails, and then began to glare angrily at the large Yoshi. “So you know my son, too! So, he was right, you ARE that Yoshi who saved Mario and Luigi just like he said! To save the threat who would oppose and RUIN the King's life and beat him up when he was young, small and weak- is beyond our forgiveness and your redemption! Today on this Mario Party event will be the last day you and your friends will live!!!”
The Yoshis all gasp at what the angry Magikoopa said.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Big Boss” (Yoshi’s Island)*
Kammy Koopa then used her wand to summon Chain Chomps in the vicinity, much to Yukiho’s horror! “IYAAAAAAAAAAA!!!” The poor Idol screamed as she hid behind Makoto.
“Great. Chain Chomps...!” Moyoshi frowned as she saw the metallic canines bounce about.
*End Theme Temporarily*
“Are those supposed to be dogs?” Reiji asked as he gripped one of his blades, “Chirai”, the lightning infused katana. The zebra haired man then stared at Yukiho, who was trembling behind Makoto.
“What do you think, Maskbreaker?!” Shy Guy, wearing an emotion showing mask, glared at Reiji.
“I was just getting started, you insolent dinos!” Kammy shouted as she readied her wand and casted her powdery growth magic on the Chain Chomps, drastically increasing their size! The sheer size of the creatures made Yukiho’s eyes widen before they rolled over and for the poor Idol to faint.
“Y-YUKIHO!” Makoto yelped as she caught her unconscious best friend. Daisy ran over and pressed her palm on the Idol’s forehead. “SHE'S FAINTED!”
“Run wild, my pets!” Kammy called out as the enlarged Chain Chomps began to rampage.
*Resume Theme: “Big Boss” (Yoshi’s Island)*
The Chain Chomps began to bark maliciously as they rampaged all over the site, damaging the landscape. Many civilian Yoshis began to flee for their lives, while a select few decide to hold off the beasts.
“Calm down! That way! Head for the village!” Chief Yoshi gave his call to the frantic brethren to follow him. Moyoshi then turned to Kotori immediately. “Miss Kotori, please follow me!”
“No need to tell me twice!” The attendant spoke as she quickly began to run.
Reiji, clearly angry that the party was so rudely interrupted, decide to intovene as he quickly drew out his shotgun, “Hollywood”, and his pistol, “Gold”. But as he pulled the triggers... for some very odd reason... the guns won’t fire, even though they are loaded! Reiji’s jaw dropped as he stared at his guns.
“HAIIIIIIIIIIIII-YA!!!” Xiaomu let out a battle cry as she swung her swordstaff at the head of one of the Chain Chomps, making it wince and stagger.
“Hey, Reiji! Are your gun skills getting slower?” The Sage Fox frowned as she looked at her surprised superior, who stared at his guns with shock in his eyes. “I... They’re loaded... I fired and... nothing happened.” (Little hint, in the Mario universe, there were no guns per say, so with the exception of King Boo’s Subspace from the Creepy Steeple arc, all guns used in this world used by visitors are disabled, even if the safety feature is turned off.)
“Seriously?! Then that means if use mine, the same would happen to me, too?” Xiaomu’s jaw dropped as she stared at her two pistols, Silver and Platinum.
“Looks like it. *COIN*” Reiji cursed before he froze for a bit at the sound that emitted that blocked his word, with only one response. “What a weird world we stepped into.”
Xiaomu’s heightened fox senses kicked in when she saw a few Chain Chomps head in a certain direction. “AAAAHHH! Reiji! The village! Some of them are heading for the Yoshi Village!!!”
“*COIN!*” Reiji curse and then noticed the you-know-what sound. “That bling sound again!” Quickly redirecting his focus, Reiji frowned as he readied to move. “Ugh, there are going to be casualties if we don't move and take care of them! Xiaomu!” The Sgae Fox nodded before making her move as well. “Right behind you!”
Makoto, wanting a piece of the action as well, lunged a punch at the Chain Chomp. “HaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAA...!!”
*CLONK!!*
Her punch DID make contact, but...
“Owww...” The boyishly handsome Idol gripped her hurt fist as she landed next to Iori and Yukiho.
“Makoto! She's awake!” Iori alerted Makoto as Yukiho began to open her eyes. Makoto sighed a breath of relief. “Thank goodness...”
“Ohhh...” Yukiho began to regain her senses, but then she saw the round metal skinned hound get closer... and you what her reaction is by now... “KYAAAAAAAA!!!”
“Uwah!” Makoto stood in shock while Iori gasped, but before the creature could get any closer to the three Idols, a familiar voice resonated.
“Iori!” Yoshi jumped in, with Yayoi on the saddle. Chief Yoshi also joined in as he glared at the Chain Chomp. “Not on YOUR MENU!” The chief snarled as he pulled out an Egg Bomb and threw it into the Chain Chomp’s mouth!
*Chomp!*
“Mmmrrrgh...?” The Chain Chomp froze for a bit, before realizing what landed in its mouth and beginning to whimper.
*KABOOOOOMM!!!*
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!” Yukiho, Makoto, and Iori, all caught in the explosion and flung off, screamed, prompting Ysohi to jump from tree to tree to attempt to catch the rich girl Idol.
“Yoshi-chan, hurry! Use your tongue!” Yayoi called out as Yoshi did just that, to great success as his tongue grabbed Iori’s leg. All of a sudden, the Black and White Yoshis, who also heard the screams, jumped into the air to catch Yukiho and Makoto.
“Whew... Iori-chan and the others are alright!” Yayoi smiled on board the saddle as Yoshi landed.
“Uh, you know- I wish you would refrain from using that tongue of yours, Yoshi.” The rich frowned in embarrassment, while Yoshi shrugged. “Hey, it’s handy... and you'll get used to it. Hey! Nice shot, Dad!”
Chief Yoshi gave a thumbs-up, before rubbing the back of his head. “Unfortunately, that was the only thing in my arsenal I had...” The group deadpanned with sweat drops. “Oh..”
*End Theme*
*MINUTES LATER...*
*Insert Theme: “Go Next” (Project X Zone)*
The dust settled and the place is a bit of a mess. Chief Yoshi ran to Moyoshi. “Honey, Where have you taken Ms. Kotori?” The pink Yoshi mother smiled and gave her answer. “She's safe by the lake, Dear.”
“Oh, good.” The elder Yoshi sighed a breath of relief, then caught sight of the contestants and teammates. “Did you get any of them gone?”
Wario gleefully flexed his muscles on his right arm and patted them along with his answer. “They were no match for us!” Reiji, staying calm as he crossed his arms, gave his report as well. “We managed to keep some of them out of the village, thanks to Benjamin.”
“All done on my end!” DK grinned while beating his chest, while Yoshi winked. “All done on my end!”
Mario, sighing a breath of relief, smiled. “It sounds like-a we took care of all-a da Chain Chomps.” Yukiho, however, looked forlorn, seeing as some of the vegetation was badly damaged from the assault. “I never imagined there would huge ones out there in this world... and they ruined parts of this forest in the process...”
Benjamin walked over and placed his hand on the gentle Idol’s shoulder. "It's okay, Yukiho. Plants can be replaced if you know the right kinds. I'm sure some of the Island's Green Thumbs can handle this problem." Daisy backed up Benjamin’s claim with a cheerful smile. “See? It's going to alright, Yukiho. Even I have "Green Power" on my side when you think about it!”
“Mwee hee hee hee hee hee! I'm afraid fixing the forest is the least of your problems!” Kammy cackled from above the group.
*End Theme with Record Scratch sound, Insert Theme: “Imminent Crisis” (Tales of Graces)*
“Kammy!” Toad shouted as he pointed at the old hag, which drew everyone’s attention. Kammy smirked an evil grin when she spoke. “Kehe! Fools! Even you, Mario, are a fool to have realized it! This was all a distraction! While you played around with those mutts, I spirited away the village's children and zapped to the BLARGG'S BOILER!”
“HUH?!?!” Yoshi gritted his in anger, while Moyoshi gasped. “WH-WHAT?! That horrible cave on the island?! How could you!?”
“’Blargg's Boiler?’" Iori frowned, glaring at Kammy as she smirked. “I'd hurry there if I were you. Otherwise, I cannot guarantee their safety before the hatchlings fry up!” With that, the old crone flew off, cackling all the way.
*End Theme*
“Gut-wrenching and heartless...” Takane frowned, not approving of the inhumane threat Kammy gave, as did Chief Yoshi. “How far is this vengeance going to go?!”
Just then, Boshi ran up to the group with a desperate look of worry on his face. “*Huff...* Rotten peppers! That witch took my little brother! I'm sure Liboshi has been taken with the other kiddies!”
“Oh no!” Luigi yelped, while Yoshi became skeptical for a moment. “This guy's got a little brother?”
“Yeesh, why do have a feeling this going to lead to a you-know-what.” Magikoopa frowned with a shrug, but then, Iori, looking really upset ran straight to the mage’s face in a complete fit, not caring for once if she might end up hurt in the crossfire! “WHO'S CARES ABOUT THAT?! A number of the village's young Yoshis have been kidnapped by that crude old hag and are put in a life-threatening situation that we have to get them out of, no matter what dangers await us!”
“As much as it stands, Iori's got a point. Those little Yoshis aren't going to save themselves in there.” Birdo nodded, seeing the situation at hand.
*Insert Theme: “Grand Star Rescue” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
Mario went to the Idol and patted her on the shoulder. “Good-a thinking Iori! You’ve got to be brave in these times to save those in need and-a distress! Let's-a go!”
Chief Yoshi walked over to commend Iori for her courageous decision. “Iori...? I'm beginning to see that meeting my child has changed your heart in some spectacular ways. I never imagined that a total stranger who is young and new to our world would go so far as to put their life on the line for anyone of our kind. You, despite any flaws you have, could really be quite the kind person who could have our youth look up to” The chief then turned his attention to the Mario brothers. “And Mario and Luigi... My old friends, you’ve proven your worth that you have grown to be heroes just like me. I'm glad I had the chance to see that whoever planned our meeting long ago has also proved it was the best thing that ever happened to both us... I have to return to the village to ease the people's worries on this matter and check on Ms. Kotori, Moyoshi and the Yoshis who helped us will guide to you all to the cave known as the Blargg's Boiler. Please, do come back with all the children, all of you. Especially you, my boy.”
“You can leave the rescue to us, Dad.” Yoshi spoke in a confident tone, assuring his father. As the Chief took his leave, Boshi then walked over to his old rival. “Yoshi! If anything terrible happens to Liboshi, you better prepare to feel my wrath!”
“Hey, no need to rub it in like that!” Yoshi waved his hands defensively.
“He's the only little brother I have in this world. So I want to make sure you and your girlfriends don't mess this rescue up!” Boshi demanded, in the worry of a true older brother. The one part the crude Yoshi said made the heroic green dino blush. “Geez, I get it, you punk. And don't call them that.”
Ready to lead the group to Blargg’s Boiler, Myoshi, carrying a bold face she had not worn in years, turned to the group. “Shall we get going?”
“YEAH!!!” Everyone shouted as they readied themselves to make a trek to the molten area within Yoshi’s Island. But as the group was making their first steps, Ritsuko had one premonition on her mind. “Why do I get this ugly feeling in my stomach over this kind of thing?”
*End Theme*
There we go, first chapter of the new year! The young Yoshis are now in danger, and it is up to Team Mario and the Idols to brave the perilous path to Blargg’s Boiler. Will they rescue the Yoshis or wll Kamek and Kammy have their day? Find out next chapter!
Also, happy New Year to all who read this chapter on the exact day! To believe, it’s nearly been a year since I first started the story... man has time flown... but the tale is not over yet! I’m also hoping for good things to come!

Chapter 52
Rampaging Chain Chomps?! Kammy's Threat

*Yoshi’s Island ~ Floral Field Forest*
Reiji, having fully calmed down after pounding Shy Guy into submission, quietly walked back to the site of the party with a sigh, dragging the unconscious hoodlum with his unexposed face dragged on the ground. Xiaomu followed without saying a word, knowing how ticked off her superior was when Shy Guy’s information about the Gemini Piranha Vorbubud came as a little inefficient.
“Reiji, you-a okay?” Mario ran to check on the Shinra agent, given his turn was already used up.
“Yeah. Just had to let out some steam.” Reiji answered, dropping the dazed Shy Guy on the ground. Mario looked at the unconscious hoodlum, but wisely decided to save his comment for another time.
Just then, a pair of cute screams echoes in the distance, along with some minor tremors!
*Insert Theme: “Panic!” (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga)*
“Ngh!” Reiji quickly responded to the screams as he turned his attention to the direction of the source. Xiaomu followed and peered by the back of her zebra haired superior. “Huh?!”
Mario quickly recognized the voices, as did Producer-san. “Holy ravioli!” “Mami and Ami!”
The Futami twins jump out of the bushes in complete panic and hide behind Ritsuko, screaming in panic! “HYAAAAAAAA!!!” Ritsuko, quickly alert to the twins’ panicked emotions, asked in confusion. “What's with you!” Hiding behind the bespectacled Idol/producer, Mami started the answer first. “Ritsuko-san! Please help us!”, with Ami finishing the answer. “Those things are going kill us!!!”
Sooner or later, the tremors began to echo even closer to the group, enough for the twins to panic even more!
“HIIIIIIIIIII~!!!” Ami and Mami yelp as they hid behind Ritsuko, who had a strong premonition that this troublesome duo may have done something REALLY wrong!
“What... W-WHAT DID YOU D-DO THIS T-TIME?!” Ritsuko shouted as she gritted her teeth in worry.
Feeling the tremors start to come closer, Producer-san, going by first instinct, ran in front of Ritsuko and the twins. “Stay behind me!”
“P-Producer?! Producer!” Kotori yelped in panic, but soon enough, Mario decided to stand his guard in anticipation to what is coming, while Luigi and Yukiho... decide to hide behind a tree.
*End Theme*
Soon, the tremors began to come even closer as trees began to fall behind the bushes, with the sound of angry snarls echoing from behind them. After that, two Wigglers jump out and decimated the bush, and boy, are they FURIOUS as their skins were showing a dangerous red hue and they let out a Godzilla-like roar!
*Insert Theme: “Vs. Wiggler” (Super Mario Sunshine) (A sped up version of the boss theme!)*
The Wigglers began to stampede across the board in a furious rage, much to Mario’s surprise, in a berserk search for the two people who purposely landed on their heads, to which they were very sensitive at... Ami and Mami, who screamed in fright. “KYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
“Giant Caterpillars!?!: Producer-san and Ritsuko shout at the same time.
“Wigglers! ANGRY WIGGLERS!!!” Luigi yelped from the tree he and Yukiho were peeking from. Wario and Waluigi, smirking to the fact that the twins are going to end up with their just desserts, even if it is not going to be by their hands, decide to cleverly back off.
(Wario) “Oooooh!”
(Waluigi) “Oh, they're in for it now!”
The first Wiggler, the one with red circles on the body, caught sight of Ami and Mami and began to run and stomp in that particular direction in a frenzy. “THERE YOU ARE!!! LIKE SQUISHING BUGS, DO YOU!?!” the enraged red spotted Wiggler roared, while his buddy, a Wiggler with blue circles on his body, equally as infuriated as his friend, snarled. “HOW'D YOU LIKE TO BE SQUISHED BY BUGS YOURSEEEEEEELVES!?!”
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!” The Futami twins scream as they tightly squeezed Ritsuko in complete utter fear. Producer-san felt a little in over his head... again.. as trembled in thought alone. “I... I didn't prepare for this! I didn't even bring any bug spray!”
Before the enraged Wigglers could strike, however, Benjamin, in his cyan Yoshi form, jumped right in front of Producer-san with a determined look on his face.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Protect the Espers!” (Final Fantasy 6)*
“B-Benjamin-san?!” Producer-san stuttered. Boshi, equally as surprised as the Yoshi Cookie he was ready to eat at the moment fell out of his mouth before he even got a chance to chew, responded in bewilderment. “What is that Yoshi doing?!”
Before anyone had a time to react, Benjamin a bright white light at the Wigglers’ eyes, which blew up on contact, blinding the enraged creatures.
(Wiggler 1) “GWAAAH!!!”
(Wiggler 2) “TOO BRIGHT...!”
“Umbra..." Benjamin spoke as he then extended his arm, conjuring a violet sphere above his palm. Within moments, the sphere changed into a purple and black flame.
“What... is that? What's going on?” Yukiho, clearly frightened, asked as she, along with the green plumber, who is chattering his teeth at the moment, watched.
All of a sudden, red light began to pour out from the two Wigglers.
(Wiggler 2) “GRRRrrr... What's going on...? I feel wierd.”
(Wiggler 1) “Ooohhhhhh...”
Within a few moments, the red light gets sucked into the dark flame, becoming red in the center.
“Hohh” Benjamin shouted as he launches the flame into the air, going beyond the atmosphere until it was out of sight.
*End Theme*
Producer-san lowered his guard to see the Wigglers skin change to a yellowish hue and began to stare at Benjamin, asking him just one question. “Benjamin-san, what did you just... do?”
Smirking, the interdimensional enigma answered the question without hesitation. "Using the darkness, I pulled out the anger from the Wigglers to calm them down... but I don't have the power to completely abolish anger from anyone... so long as the heart remains."
Mario lowered his guard as well as he wiped off his sweat from his forehead. “That was a risky move, but da Wigglers aren't-a hostile anymore.” The Shinra duo were equally confused as Xiaomu scratched her head for a moment. “He can use darkness AND light?” Reiji, however, began to have a clear idea of what just happened. “... Hmm...”
The two Wigglers, relieved of their fury, began to look around in confusion.
(Wiggler 1) “Hmm? Hey, what's going on?”
(Wiggler 2) “I dunno, but it looks like someone's having a party.”
Mario then walked to the two large caterpillars and smiled. “Hey, it's-a okay! C'mon and-a spectate!” The two calmed down creatures reacted happily with a big “Yay!”, enough for Ritsuko to stagger, making her glasses fall a little off angle. “Th... They're docile now?!
Benjamin nodded and gave his explanation. “Yes, true to the fact. As much as they are docile and carefree in heart, Bowser has these guys in his army because of those brutally violent berserk tantrums they unleash when they are harmed... A part I can personally relate to. But they must've blown their fuses when someone GROUND POUNDED, STOMPED or LANDED ON THEM WITH THEIR BUTT to get them angry as that." While the conversation continued, Ami and Mami began to sweat greatly as they meekly look at each other and began to whisper.
(Mami) “So that's why my butt didn't hurt?”
(Ami) “You and me, Mami. They were soft enough to cushion our drop.”
*Insert Theme: “Trick Mansion” (Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald)*
Nodding to each other, the twins decide to quietly tiptoe out. But before they could get a chance, Benjamin, without averting his gaze, spoke. "And speaking of 'SOMEONE...'" The very words the being said were more than enough for the twins’ spines to stiffen in shock as they meekly turned around to see unimpressed stares from many of the group... and one very scary, dark aura filled glare from Ritsuko!!
“Ami... Mami... Do you see where your obnoxious hooliganism GETS YOUUUUUUUUUUUU?!?!?!” Ritsuko snaled, making the lovable mischievous panic...

*Yoshi’s Island ~ Overview*
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!” The sound of the twins’ scream echoed very far, enough to scare a couple of Goonies and Crazee Dayzees in the area.
*Insert Jingle: “Too Bad” (Pokémon: Ruby and Sapphire)*
(Narrator) “Remind me NEVER to get on Ritsuko’s bad side...”
(Xiaomu) “Tell me about it! I think I’d rather take Reiji’s spankings!”
(Reiji) “For once... no comment..”
*Yoshi’s Island ~ Forest Trail*
*Insert Theme: “Flower Garden” (Yoshi’s Island DS)*
Azusa, carrying some fruit from the Yoshi Village, under the guidance of the yellow Yoshi from earlier, was unable to cross due to the pesky Pak E. Derm blocking the way for no particular reason.
“Ara, please move aside...” The wayward Idol tried to sweet talk the pachyderm, to no avail as it stubbornly won’t budge. She tried giving the fruit, using the “puppy dog eyes tactic”, even shed a single tear... but the creature still won’t move.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Encounter! Parasol Lady” (Pokémon: Black and White)*
All of a sudden, a sudden tremor rumbled and was focused on the pachyderm, toppling it over. Azusa, bracing herself in case Bowser showed up to kidnap her again, opened her eyes to see Benjamin dusting his hands.
“Thank you for helping me, Benjamin-san. That strange elephant won't let me by no matter what nice things I do. Arigatou.” Azusa nodded with a gentle smile, to which the being blushed. “T'was nothin'."
With that, the Idol and cyan Yoshi walk back to the site before Pak E. Derm got himself up. As for the yellow Yoshi, he returned to the village.

*Yoshi’s Island ~ Floral Field Forest*
Miki was quietly taking a nap in the shade, peacefully dozing the day away, until a strange sound managed to pop her snot bubble and wake her up! “Muh? What's that sound?” The blonde Idol muttered while rubbing her eyes to see Kammy Koopa descend from her broomstick towards the group.
*Insert Theme: “Kammy Koopa” (Paper Mario)*
“It's the witch!” Miki, fully awake and aware, shouted as she pointed at Kammy, drawing the attention of everyone to the Magikoopa matriarch.
“Kammy Koopa!” Peach gasped, while Mario shouted before jumping into a fighting stance. “You're back again?!” Makoto, still feeling that chip on the shoulder from the crystallized petrification she suffered back in space, jumped in a fighting stance of her own. “Hah!”
Kammy adjusted her glasses and smiled at the group. “Good to see you all again, everyone. You all picked a pretty place to have a party...” The elderly Magikoopa paused for a moment to smell the fresh air before continuing her speech. “And it does smell nice, too. Sadly, I'm here on business if you don't mind.”
“We DO mind.” Producer-san retorted with his hands on his hips, but then Kotori then asked in confusion. “Excuse me, but what business are you referring to?”
Kammy stopped for a moment as she looked at the green haired attendant and tilted her head in confusion. “And who, pray tell, do I ask, are you? I never seen you before.”
“Kotori Otonashi, 765 Pro's attendant and sec—“ Kotori began to introducerself, but then found herself hand gagged by Producer-san. “Mmmph?!” the man simply did not want to waste any time by saying one thing. “She doesn't need to know that!”
Kammy merely shrugged as a result, but then Reiji began to glare at the matriarch readying his hand on his pistol Gold. “Is she one of Bowser's underlings?” Toadette shivered as she answered the Shinra agent’s question. “Y-You bet she is!” XIaomu, eager to mop the floor with Kammy’s carcass, gripped her Suiren swordstick as she smirked. “No sweat! We'll take of this troublemaker.”
Yoshi flashed his arm, attempting to block the Sage Fox as he glared at Kammy. “Hey. You let us handle Kammy, you two. Can't afford you getting your hands dirty.” Xiaomu looked at Reiji, who too is surprised as she looked at the green dinosaur.
Kammy then looked at YOSHI and smiled. “Ah ha! Yoshi, just who I was looking for! Actually, I have some business with your family to take care of!”
Just then, Chief Yoshi stepped right to his son’s side with his arms crossed and his face showing a disapproving scowl. “Elderly Magikoopa, what business do you have that involves us? What trouble do you bring us to interrupt an important party?”
Kammy adjusted her glasses as she looked at the rotund chief. “HmHMPH! So... You're the Chief, are you?! The one who ruined and harmed my lord, King Bowser, long ago?” Moyoshi was shocked to hear the name. “Huh?”
Chief Yoshi then began to glare at Kammy. “Wait... You wouldn't happen know anyone named ‘Kamek’, do you?” A vein began to throb on Kammy’s head as she put heads and tails, and then began to glare angrily at the large Yoshi. “So you know my son, too! So, he was right, you ARE that Yoshi who saved Mario and Luigi just like he said! To save the threat who would oppose and RUIN the King's life and beat him up when he was young, small and weak- is beyond our forgiveness and your redemption! Today on this Mario Party event will be the last day you and your friends will live!!!”
The Yoshis all gasp at what the angry Magikoopa said.
*End Theme, Insert Theme: “Big Boss” (Yoshi’s Island)*
Kammy Koopa then used her wand to summon Chain Chomps in the vicinity, much to Yukiho’s horror! “IYAAAAAAAAAAA!!!” The poor Idol screamed as she hid behind Makoto.
“Great. Chain Chomps...!” Moyoshi frowned as she saw the metallic canines bounce about.
*End Theme Temporarily*
“Are those supposed to be dogs?” Reiji asked as he gripped one of his blades, “Chirai”, the lightning infused katana. The zebra haired man then stared at Yukiho, who was trembling behind Makoto.
“What do you think, Maskbreaker?!” Shy Guy, wearing an emotion showing mask, glared at Reiji.
“I was just getting started, you insolent dinos!” Kammy shouted as she readied her wand and casted her powdery growth magic on the Chain Chomps, drastically increasing their size! The sheer size of the creatures made Yukiho’s eyes widen before they rolled over and for the poor Idol to faint.
“Y-YUKIHO!” Makoto yelped as she caught her unconscious best friend. Daisy ran over and pressed her palm on the Idol’s forehead. “SHE'S FAINTED!”
“Run wild, my pets!” Kammy called out as the enlarged Chain Chomps began to rampage.
*Resume Theme: “Big Boss” (Yoshi’s Island)*
The Chain Chomps began to bark maliciously as they rampaged all over the site, damaging the landscape. Many civilian Yoshis began to flee for their lives, while a select few decide to hold off the beasts.
“Calm down! That way! Head for the village!” Chief Yoshi gave his call to the frantic brethren to follow him. Moyoshi then turned to Kotori immediately. “Miss Kotori, please follow me!”
“No need to tell me twice!” The attendant spoke as she quickly began to run.
Reiji, clearly angry that the party was so rudely interrupted, decide to intovene as he quickly drew out his shotgun, “Hollywood”, and his pistol, “Gold”. But as he pulled the triggers... for some very odd reason... the guns won’t fire, even though they are loaded! Reiji’s jaw dropped as he stared at his guns.
“HAIIIIIIIIIIIII-YA!!!” Xiaomu let out a battle cry as she swung her swordstaff at the head of one of the Chain Chomps, making it wince and stagger.
“Hey, Reiji! Are your gun skills getting slower?” The Sage Fox frowned as she looked at her surprised superior, who stared at his guns with shock in his eyes. “I... They’re loaded... I fired and... nothing happened.” (Little hint, in the Mario universe, there were no guns per say, so with the exception of King Boo’s Subspace from the Creepy Steeple arc, all guns used in this world used by visitors are disabled, even if the safety feature is turned off.)
“Seriously?! Then that means if use mine, the same would happen to me, too?” Xiaomu’s jaw dropped as she stared at her two pistols, Silver and Platinum.
“Looks like it. *COIN*” Reiji cursed before he froze for a bit at the sound that emitted that blocked his word, with only one response. “What a weird world we stepped into.”
Xiaomu’s heightened fox senses kicked in when she saw a few Chain Chomps head in a certain direction. “AAAAHHH! Reiji! The village! Some of them are heading for the Yoshi Village!!!”
“*COIN!*” Reiji curse and then noticed the you-know-what sound. “That bling sound again!” Quickly redirecting his focus, Reiji frowned as he readied to move. “Ugh, there are going to be casualties if we don't move and take care of them! Xiaomu!” The Sgae Fox nodded before making her move as well. “Right behind you!”
Makoto, wanting a piece of the action as well, lunged a punch at the Chain Chomp. “HaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAA...!!”
*CLONK!!*
Her punch DID make contact, but...
“Owww...” The boyishly handsome Idol gripped her hurt fist as she landed next to Iori and Yukiho.
“Makoto! She's awake!” Iori alerted Makoto as Yukiho began to open her eyes. Makoto sighed a breath of relief. “Thank goodness...”
“Ohhh...” Yukiho began to regain her senses, but then she saw the round metal skinned hound get closer... and you what her reaction is by now... “KYAAAAAAAA!!!”
“Uwah!” Makoto stood in shock while Iori gasped, but before the creature could get any closer to the three Idols, a familiar voice resonated.
“Iori!” Yoshi jumped in, with Yayoi on the saddle. Chief Yoshi also joined in as he glared at the Chain Chomp. “Not on YOUR MENU!” The chief snarled as he pulled out an Egg Bomb and threw it into the Chain Chomp’s mouth!
*Chomp!*
“Mmmrrrgh...?” The Chain Chomp froze for a bit, before realizing what landed in its mouth and beginning to whimper.
*KABOOOOOMM!!!*
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!” Yukiho, Makoto, and Iori, all caught in the explosion and flung off, screamed, prompting Ysohi to jump from tree to tree to attempt to catch the rich girl Idol.
“Yoshi-chan, hurry! Use your tongue!” Yayoi called out as Yoshi did just that, to great success as his tongue grabbed Iori’s leg. All of a sudden, the Black and White Yoshis, who also heard the screams, jumped into the air to catch Yukiho and Makoto.
“Whew... Iori-chan and the others are alright!” Yayoi smiled on board the saddle as Yoshi landed.
“Uh, you know- I wish you would refrain from using that tongue of yours, Yoshi.” The rich frowned in embarrassment, while Yoshi shrugged. “Hey, it’s handy... and you'll get used to it. Hey! Nice shot, Dad!”
Chief Yoshi gave a thumbs-up, before rubbing the back of his head. “Unfortunately, that was the only thing in my arsenal I had...” The group deadpanned with sweat drops. “Oh..”
*End Theme*
*MINUTES LATER...*
*Insert Theme: “Go Next” (Project X Zone)*
The dust settled and the place is a bit of a mess. Chief Yoshi ran to Moyoshi. “Honey, Where have you taken Ms. Kotori?” The pink Yoshi mother smiled and gave her answer. “She's safe by the lake, Dear.”
“Oh, good.” The elder Yoshi sighed a breath of relief, then caught sight of the contestants and teammates. “Did you get any of them gone?”
Wario gleefully flexed his muscles on his right arm and patted them along with his answer. “They were no match for us!” Reiji, staying calm as he crossed his arms, gave his report as well. “We managed to keep some of them out of the village, thanks to Benjamin.”
“All done on my end!” DK grinned while beating his chest, while Yoshi winked. “All done on my end!”
Mario, sighing a breath of relief, smiled. “It sounds like-a we took care of all-a da Chain Chomps.” Yukiho, however, looked forlorn, seeing as some of the vegetation was badly damaged from the assault. “I never imagined there would huge ones out there in this world... and they ruined parts of this forest in the process...”
Benjamin walked over and placed his hand on the gentle Idol’s shoulder. "It's okay, Yukiho. Plants can be replaced if you know the right kinds. I'm sure some of the Island's Green Thumbs can handle this problem." Daisy backed up Benjamin’s claim with a cheerful smile. “See? It's going to alright, Yukiho. Even I have "Green Power" on my side when you think about it!”
“Mwee hee hee hee hee hee! I'm afraid fixing the forest is the least of your problems!” Kammy cackled from above the group.
*End Theme with Record Scratch sound, Insert Theme: “Imminent Crisis” (Tales of Graces)*
“Kammy!” Toad shouted as he pointed at the old hag, which drew everyone’s attention. Kammy smirked an evil grin when she spoke. “Kehe! Fools! Even you, Mario, are a fool to have realized it! This was all a distraction! While you played around with those mutts, I spirited away the village's children and zapped to the BLARGG'S BOILER!”
“HUH?!?!” Yoshi gritted his in anger, while Moyoshi gasped. “WH-WHAT?! That horrible cave on the island?! How could you!?”
“’Blargg's Boiler?’" Iori frowned, glaring at Kammy as she smirked. “I'd hurry there if I were you. Otherwise, I cannot guarantee their safety before the hatchlings fry up!” With that, the old crone flew off, cackling all the way.
*End Theme*
“Gut-wrenching and heartless...” Takane frowned, not approving of the inhumane threat Kammy gave, as did Chief Yoshi. “How far is this vengeance going to go?!”
Just then, Boshi ran up to the group with a desperate look of worry on his face. “*Huff...* Rotten peppers! That witch took my little brother! I'm sure Liboshi has been taken with the other kiddies!”
“Oh no!” Luigi yelped, while Yoshi became skeptical for a moment. “This guy's got a little brother?”
“Yeesh, why do have a feeling this going to lead to a you-know-what.” Magikoopa frowned with a shrug, but then, Iori, looking really upset ran straight to the mage’s face in a complete fit, not caring for once if she might end up hurt in the crossfire! “WHO'S CARES ABOUT THAT?! A number of the village's young Yoshis have been kidnapped by that crude old hag and are put in a life-threatening situation that we have to get them out of, no matter what dangers await us!”
“As much as it stands, Iori's got a point. Those little Yoshis aren't going to save themselves in there.” Birdo nodded, seeing the situation at hand.
*Insert Theme: “Grand Star Rescue” (Super Mario Galaxy)*
Mario went to the Idol and patted her on the shoulder. “Good-a thinking Iori! You’ve got to be brave in these times to save those in need and-a distress! Let's-a go!”
Chief Yoshi walked over to commend Iori for her courageous decision. “Iori...? I'm beginning to see that meeting my child has changed your heart in some spectacular ways. I never imagined that a total stranger who is young and new to our world would go so far as to put their life on the line for anyone of our kind. You, despite any flaws you have, could really be quite the kind person who could have our youth look up to” The chief then turned his attention to the Mario brothers. “And Mario and Luigi... My old friends, you’ve proven your worth that you have grown to be heroes just like me. I'm glad I had the chance to see that whoever planned our meeting long ago has also proved it was the best thing that ever happened to both us... I have to return to the village to ease the people's worries on this matter and check on Ms. Kotori, Moyoshi and the Yoshis who helped us will guide to you all to the cave known as the Blargg's Boiler. Please, do come back with all the children, all of you. Especially you, my boy.”
“You can leave the rescue to us, Dad.” Yoshi spoke in a confident tone, assuring his father. As the Chief took his leave, Boshi then walked over to his old rival. “Yoshi! If anything terrible happens to Liboshi, you better prepare to feel my wrath!”
“Hey, no need to rub it in like that!” Yoshi waved his hands defensively.
“He's the only little brother I have in this world. So I want to make sure you and your girlfriends don't mess this rescue up!” Boshi demanded, in the worry of a true older brother. The one part the crude Yoshi said made the heroic green dino blush. “Geez, I get it, you punk. And don't call them that.”
Ready to lead the group to Blargg’s Boiler, Myoshi, carrying a bold face she had not worn in years, turned to the group. “Shall we get going?”
“YEAH!!!” Everyone shouted as they readied themselves to make a trek to the molten area within Yoshi’s Island. But as the group was making their first steps, Ritsuko had one premonition on her mind. “Why do I get this ugly feeling in my stomach over this kind of thing?”
*End Theme*
There we go, first chapter of the new year! The young Yoshis are now in danger, and it is up to Team Mario and the Idols to brave the perilous path to Blargg’s Boiler. Will they rescue the Yoshis or wll Kamek and Kammy have their day? Find out next chapter!
