so yeah, I had a sudden urge/nostalgia for mario games and started playing some, I even challenged my brother and some of his friends to some go-kart stuff but then I realized that I suck, like suck SUCK suck and lost every friking race, all of them.also stealing power ups from people is just cheating! totally cheating! no way you can convince me otherwise.

One thing that took me awhile to figure out was where the second pink turtle shell had come from. It's not obvious that Pinkie is wearing one.

It took me a long time to realize that the joke was that they stripped off their shells/clothes to attack. I guess I've been so desensitized to cartoon nudity by now that I didn't even notice until I read some of the comments.
Very subtle. I would have liked to see... Wario Dash? Wabow Dash? Whoever, lying in a heap next to the car at the end.

News Flash: Local photojournalist and koopa idol Kylie Koopa wins race in the raw buff! When asked if her new "all-natural" look would be permanent she simply replied: "Like Kammy Koopa, I'm shaking what my momma gave me!" This reporter was left both shocked and... somewhat aroused at the casual response... Meanwhile, fans of the famous journalist worldwide rejoiced (hopefully with their shell-pants on) at the sudden turn of events.

Glad they dropped that "bumping into a kart hard enough steal their item" feature from MK: Double Dash. That was annoying. Still, the 2-characters switching places on one kart was a nice gimmick, and offered a teamwork option so it had some cool things about it.
I also gatta say I got Mario Kart 7 on my 3DS, and it's alot of fun.
Nice touch having Kylie Koopa in it, she's a pretty obscure character to have appear.

I'm not so sure that's a bad thing considering that I've had 1st place nicked from my grasp many times because of that item. I was even on track to complete a set of challenges in the 3DS Mario Kart game and on one of the final races I got struck by 3 blue shells in a row...it haunts me to this day.

There will be a blue shell in Mario Kart 8, but it wasn't programmed in the E3 demo yet.
The 2-player racing from Double Dash was a great idea. When Mario Kart DS released, I thought it was strange that it went back to 1-player racing. However, while I hope that the 2-player racing from Double Dash will return someday, I don't think it may ever happen. The 2-player gimmick was made especially for Double Dash and it's the thing that made that Mario Kart game special. That's why the game's called Double Dash, one of the only Mario Karts with a subtitle. We can see in the game's subtitle that this Mario Kart was meant to be different form the rest.
If the 2-player racing was meant to come back in later installments, they may not given Double Dash it's subtitle, but another 'bland' title like the other Mario Karts (Mario Kart 64, DS, Wii, 7 and 8). The subtitle "Double Dash" just screams that the game's is different from the others, because is's all about 2-player racing. If the game was called Mario Kart 4 or something like that, the title would just tell that it's a new Mario Kart and has a new gameplay style. I won't say that if Double Dash was called 4 instead, the 2-player racing would have made it's return by now, but it does tell us what the intention of the creators was with this game. Double Dash was just meant to be different from the other Mario Karts with it's 2-player racing and it may never return.
But never say never. Nintendo also brought back bikes from Mario Kart Wii in Mario Kart 8 after their absence in 7. Maybe the 2-player racing will return someday and that would be cool. I really like the co-op mode from Double Dash. It made multiplayer really fun.

If you're far enough behind that the item generator actually gives you one, you won't catch up. Player karts don't rubberband like AI ones do.
