Wow, I use one picture and I get random rage, well if you want a discussion, i'll give you one.
Firstly, all those weaknesses are only one weakness, that if you are not known by the name you are born with, you can not be targeted.Β Β Light easily overcame that single weakness by simply blackmailing politicians into giving correct names of people. He could have gone further by forcing them to publicly disclose huge lists of known criminals if he wasn't busy with L & N.
Light wanted to be a God and create a new world, and he risked his life in the process of doing this. He made all the deaths heart attacks to allow them to be easily pinned to a single entity/group so that even if his identity and means of murder were unknown, they would still be forced to acknowledge his existence. If he wanted to remain anonymous then it would be absolutely impossible for a detective to figure it out, save that names spelled incorrectly would remain alive but that would only be figured out through intense investigation and with tens of thousands of deaths. Random suicides in prisons and accidental deaths would be impossible to pin together immediately.
Lelouch's powers have far greater weaknesses then Light's. Requiring line-of-sight and being within a certain proximity and only being able to be used once make it very difficult to get anything done with speed. I agree that Lelouch is somewhat superior to Light in thinking ahead but there cunning and determination to reach their goals are on par.

biggest difference is that lelouch was self aware, while light was totally deluded. lelouch became icnreasingly aware of how dark her really was, but went forward with that in mind. light thoguht he was great, when he really was not. lelouch was great even without use of the geass.
basically we are talking about a self created messiah and a man fully aware of how evil he is.
not to mention in a theoretical situaion where light and lelouch would fight, lelouch could theoretically see the shinigami, or cc would definitely see him, geass the shinigami (the fucker geassed god), and force the mosnter to write both light's name and its own into a death note.
if you question whether or not that is possible. lelouch power's come from a being who cannot die.

Yes, you are right but I fail to see how that would make Light any less of an exceptional character, any less driven, cunning, devoted, nor is it any reason to hate him. What is good and evil? If Light won, he would be righteous and just, that's how little those things mean. Both Lelouch and Light are self-created messiahs and they martyred themselves for their causes. I don't think that Light was deluded at all, he saw very clearly what his goal was and I think that, given time, people would have praised him for it, it is just that his goals didn't match up with modern societal values and he died because of it. The society he would have created would indeed have been Orwellian but it would have been a very good and efficient version of it, in which a strict legal system ensures that criminals are executed according to the will of a group, not a lot worse then our society, just different.
As for any theoretical battle, they would not fight face to face. It would be a battle between the army Lelouch would create and an invisible enemy, Kira. In that case, it would once again be a battle to determine the other's identity and it could go either way. The problem here, however, is that Lelouch is clearly visible and if Light ever found him with his mask off, it would take him very little time to discover his identity. Still it would be a close fight regardless.

the evidence stands against that. light, dies begging for his life. lelouch, dies during the assassination he set up on himself after destroying his own reputation to become a symbol of hatred.
in the end, light, though ienrtersting, was a cowardly sociopath who did not have the guts to go to the limits. lelouch was a human being, flawed and dangerous, who chose that his life had only one purpose; to become a symbol of evil to be eradicated.
light failed to destroy the world because he wanted to be god. lelouch succeeded because he sought to become satan.

Light didn't really beg for his life, he did that as a ruse in order to try for a last-ditch effort to kill his enemies. Light was far from cowardly, if he was truly a coward, he would have done what I said earlier and simply avoided any chance of being caught altogether. Rather he risked everything to make his dream of a perfect world a reality. As for not having the guts to go to the limits, what limit are you referring to? I don't think there was any measure he would have stopped at in order to reach his goal. He killed his own father (albeit indirectly) for it after all. Light may have failed to become God but it wasn't his own fault but rather the incompetence of his subordinate who failed to follow orders. It was literally pure luck that prevented him from winning.
