That's a great set-up for the birth of a new superheroine. It's funny to begin with, but when she says, "That's as many as four tens, and that's terrible..." I lost it laughing. That is pure Pinkiness.

They are almost too adorable as they chase down the "evil dragon" in order to vanquish him with the sporting goods. He could just breath fire on it before she hits him (playfully, of course!) but then it would end up smacking Princess Celestia in the snout. I guess he just has to take it like a man.
The little fillies probably read and wanted to reenact the human stories of old: it's now canon that they know of the human world (whatever state it may be in). Anyway, when the kids couldn't find bridles that fit for her "steeds" Apple Bloom just took those "rubber balls on straps" from the bottom of Applejack's saddle blanket drawer. 
At least Spike is out getting his exercise and, regardless of the actual circumstances, is being chased by cute girls. And they're all having fun.
